QUESTIONS - Does Obedience Always Bring Blessing In This Life?

Can those who commit to practical obedience to Christ’s commandments expect to receive a blessing from God in this life? If so, is this blessing a guarantee? What about those who experience suffering and/or are persecuted for their faithfulness?
