Al Fadi and Dr Jay Smith continue there review of Shoemaker book; creating the Quran. Today they focus on where was the origin of the Quran. They say that there was some rock inscription in Northern Arabian not in the Hijaz. Some of the reasons why the inscription doesn't fit the Hijazi dialect of central Arabia are three distinctive features: 1. The distinctive form of the relative pronoun. 2. The distinctive form of the distal demonstrative . 3. the use of the verbal constructive of ya aleph.

Muslims claim that Mecca is in Saudi Arabia, that Mohammad was born there, and that he also received his revelation of the Quran there. If that is true where is Mecca? Steven Shoemaker in his book Creating the Quran on page114 mentions that there is no mention of a mecca in any of the great civilizations of the time . Not only that, but another scholar; Patricia Corona said that there were no trade roues going through Mecca on land nor by the coast of the Red Sea bordering Mecca. Many scholars say that Islam started way north of Mecca and that most Muslim scholars were Persians. So Shoemaker concludes that Mecca was further north.

This manuscript was found in Damascus and was moved to Germany. It looks a lot like the upper layer of the Sana manuscript. There are three reasons why this manuscript is 8th century and not 7th century: 1. The dots , the circles ,and the verse markings suggests that the text is a later text. 2. . The page layout and illuminations parallels the 8th century manuscripts. 3. The ornamentations suggests Abd Al Malik and Al Hajjag new distinctive Islamic Arabic manuscripts. The question is if this text came from Mecca and Medina, what was happening there? Scholars agree that in the 7th century those two cities where very isolated and insignificant.

Dr Jay and Al Fadi continue the comparison between the upper and the lower layers of the Sana manuscripts of the Quran with the 1924 Hafs edition of the Quran. They point out differences that changes the meaning of the text; for example Sura 9: 9 in the lower layer of the manuscripts states" the way of Allah while the Hafs Quran of 1924 says 'His way". Another difference in the upper layer as an example is Sura 7: 76 "you directed vs he directed" They point out that most of the differences have to do with the diacritical marking which did not exist until the 8th century. Even with the upper layer of the manuscripts there was no standardized Quran yet.

The Sana manuscripts is a palimpsest manuscripts ; which means that there is a lower and upper layers of writing . Scholars say that the two writings are late seventh and early eighth century respectively. They think that it is two versions of the Quran; the first is a pre- standard Quran which was erased and rewritten as the canonical version. On comparing the two writing , it was found that there are seventy variants between the two. Dr Jay says that the lower text was erased because it needed to be updated.

The Sana'a manuscript was discovered in Yemen in 1975, it is very old with no dots and vowels. It is a palimpsest (It has two layers of writings). It had late 7th to 8th century scripts. It was carbon tested at the university of Arizona in 2007, and was dated to mid 7th century. The same segment was taken to four Europeans labs and they did not agree with the Arizona dating. Shoemaker concludes that there is a problem with the carbon dating because the process dates the skin of the animal not the time the writing was written

Al Fadi and Anthony Rogers continue their discussion of Isaiah 53. In this session they discuss how Jesus and His disciples talked about the fulfillment of Isaiah 53; 1. In Luke 24 after Jesus's resurrection ; he is explaining to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus how the Christ will suffer, die and come back to life. 2. All four accounts of the gospel mention Isaiah 40 a voice crying out in the wilderness . 3. Jesus told his disciples that he will go to Jerusalem to die. 4. Another example was in Acts 8 where Philip is explaining the suffering Messiah to the Ethiopian who was reading Isaiah 53.

In Isaiah 52:13, This servant will be highly exalted. In Isaiah 2, the Lord alone will be exalted; This shows the divine identity of this figure. Isaiah 52: says that this upright man will suffer and die, buried , resurrected and exalted (Is. 52:13,14). He will be stricken, smitten , and afflicted (Is. 53:4) . He will be chastened, scourged , and crushed (Is. 53: 5). This figure will die for the sins of his people, and he will succeed. This person is the Lord Jesus.

Al Fadi and Dr David continue to disprove the myth of the perfect preservation of the Quran. In this episode they go to a book called Fadaelle Al Quran; in Sura 33 there is only 73 verses left of 200 original verses; the reason is that a sheep ate it according to Ayesha who had the only copy of the sura. According to Muslims the Quran was preserved by memory. in Sura 87: 6,7 Allah allows Mohammad to forget some suras that He wills. In Hadith Al Bukhari 50:38,39 Mohammad claims that Allah caused him to forget some verses.

Mohammad married Ayesha at age 6 and consummated the marriage at age 9. The Quran allows marriage of prepubescent child (Sura 65:4). And since Muslims believe that Muhammad was an example for mankind; therefore Islam allows child marriage. In order to justify that; the Muslim Da'wa team lie about girls being married as a child in the Bible; Mary is one example. They find unreliable Catholic apocryphal sources. Al and David discuss this matter in more details.

Al Fadi and Dr Jay Smith discuss the incarnation of Jesus; the word became flesh. Muslims deny that God can come to earth even though the story of the burning bush is in Chapter 20:10-14 of the Quran . The only way to have a holy ground is if God is there. They also talk about the two types of revelations; the general revelation/ creation, and special revelation. Christians agree on the general revelation . Muslims believe that the Quran is a special revelation; is eternal, sent down, complete, and unchanged .The Quran is not complete and it changed according to all the research that was done. Christians believe that Jesus is the Word of God, eternal, came down , never changed, and the only complete revelation of God.

Sin in Islam is a set of dos and don'ts, Muslims believe there is two angels that are assigned to every person at birth to record their good and bad deeds, and that good deeds cancel out bad deeds. The Bible says that sin is much deeper that that, it took one sin to get Adam and Eve out of the garden of Eden. They could no longer talk to God in person. All creation was affected by that sin. We are all out of the Garden because God is holy. God is the only one who can fix sin's problem. God made a covenant with Abraham were He alone can fulfill in Genesis 15 . Only God can atone for our sin through Jesus's ( the only sinless person) sacrifice which was promised in Genesis 3:15 that the seed of the woman ( Jesus) will crush the head of the serpent (Satan). To be continued in the next episode.

Al Fadi and Dr jay Smith discuss more doctrinal differences between Christianity and Islam and today they start with the trinity; they point out how the Christian God is relational both in the God head and with His creation. They point out that we are made in God's image to be relational too. Second they show the difference between Christians who are children of God versus Muslims who are slaves of Allah. Children can call God Daddy, and communicate with God without fear; Muslims are afraid of their God and must submit to him as master.

This is a start of a new series called The Hermeneutical Key; it is the key to interpret scripture. Today's topic is The Garden of Eden. In the Bible (Genesis 3:8,9 ) we read the story of the fall of Adam and Eve ; God was walking and talking with them; He had a relationship with them. Also in the Bible the Garden of Eden was on earth. In the Quran, Chapter (2: 30-39,7: 19-25); the garden of Eden is in heaven, God is not in the garden. This means we are not talking about the same thing; the God of the Bible is omnipotent,; he entered time and space and took on a human form. The God of the Bible is not the Allah of the Quran.

Al Fadi and Michael Jones discuss the effects of polygamy in Islam which allows for polygamy. Muslims claim that the Bible has polygamy in it. The truth is that the old testament records the sins of some characters in the Bible who practiced polygamy ,but is not so from the beginning in Genesis 2:24 that a man leaves his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two shall become one flesh, as when God brought Eve to Adam and Jesus later confirmed it in Matthew 19: 1-9 . They also discuss the scientific results of mental health issues that both women and children suffer in a polygamist marriages.

Today Al Fadi and Michael Jones talk about the mental and the social harm of child marriage. Islam promotes child marriage as we saw in a previous episode. Studies shows the mental harm that it causes from depression, anxiety, phobia, and suicidal thoughts just to name a few. The social harm are death during child birth, cervical cancer, STDs, and being a victim of domestic violence. They conclude that child marriage is to be outlawed if Muslims really care about their daughters.

Al Fadi and his guest speaker Michael Jones of ( Inspiring Philosophy You Tube Channel) talk about why is child marriage allowed and promoted in Islam; 1. It was done by Mohammad who is an example to Muslims when he married Aisha at age six. 2. It is done to protect the parents social status and not the Girl's well being. 3. Muslims also claim that it reduces premarital sex. Yet the physical harm that is caused to the girls is great because of their undeveloped bodies; death and infection are two harms. The united nations classify any girl under 18 as a child. In Chapter 65:4 the Quran promotes child marriage.

Al Fadi asks the question above. He gives a lot of Bible verses to show that if we believe in Jesus we have eternal life; 1John 5: 12-13 , John 5: 24, Romans 8:16, just to mention a few. And nothing can separate us from God's love or snatch us out of his hands John 10:29, Romans 8:38,39. Our salvation is sure as Christian and the scripture proves it ; not so in the Quran or by Mohammad Sura 46:8-9, Sura 10:94. Not even the Hadith ; Sahih Bukhari vol. 5, book 58, #266 and vol 4, book 51, # 16; Mohammad was not sure of his salvation or the salvation of his family or any Muslim. Al Fadi asks the question ; why would you follow someone who doesn't have an assurance of salvation? and says that Jesus is the way, and the life.

Mohammad acknowledged in Sura 4:154 that the Sabbath was not to be violated . In Hadith Al Bukhari B2,V13:1,21, Mohammad did not honor the Sabbath, but introduced his own holy day; Friday, thus dishonoring the Sabbath . Therefore he is not a prophet like Moses.

Al Fadi and Anthony Rogers continue in the series about Christ in the Psalms. In this episode they compare two sets of Psalms that compares to the first two Psalms. Psalm 18 and 19 ; Psalm 18 is a Messianic Psalm that talks about the suffering of the Messiah, while Psalm19 is a Psalm about the Torah/law of the Lord. Another pair of Psalms that are like that are Psalm 118 and 119. Psalm 118 is Messianic while Psalm 119 is about the law or the Torah of the Lord. They encourage you to read the Psalms looking for the Messiah.

Al Fadi and Anthony Rogers continue their discussion about Christ in the book of Psalms. They show how Psalm 1 and 2 are the the preface / introduction to the book. In Psalm 1 the blessed man(Christ) is singular vs. the wicked (sinners) is plural . The law of the Lord is the Torah of the Lord, and His delight is in the Torah. The phrase like a tree is also repeated in Psalm 52; like a green olive tree; an imagery of Eden. In Psalm 92 : 12 talks about the righteous one. Psalm 2 plays off of Psalm one that the wicked will perish because they did not reverence the son; the righteous one.

Al and Anthony Rogers start a new series talking about how David used the Psalms to reveal Christ. The book of Psalms is not a haphazard book , but an organized book that talks about Christ the Messiah. The book is divided into five books to resemble the five book of Moses. There is a hundred names in the book of Psalms about Jesus ; the blessed man, the afflicted, and the tree of life just to name a few. This should give us a new perspective when we read the Psalms; they are all about Jesus not just some.

Mel and Al continue to discuss the origin of the name Mehmet and today they discuss what the Sufis think and believe. They say that Mehmet was the source of light and Adam was created by him. This name was used to refer to God/ Jesus, and later evolved to refer to an Arabian prophet. Mehmet was originally a title and it was used for centuries before it was changed to Mohammad. In other words Mehmet was a reference to God; the highly praised one, and was applied to Jesus on coins.

Al Fadi and Brother Mel continue to use more Quranic verses to show that the Quran refers to Jesus when he mentions the name Mohammad, Sura 33:40, Sura 3:144. They also discuss the term Angel of the Lord in Genesis 16: 8-10 , 22:11-12 who Christians believe is the the Lord Jesus is the only one that can claim the promises in those verses.

Al and Mel continue their discussion about the origin of the name Mohammad/ Mehmet. Today they start by talking about the use of the cross on an inscription by an Arab ruler named Mu'aweiah; he was called the commander of the believers, and from the sound of it he was a Christian who was crowned king in Jerusalem and ruled from Damascus.
Next they talk about the references in the Quran to a person called Mehmet and Ahmed. They discuss Suras 47:2, 45:29 and 19:30-31. They point to how the name fits in being used in reference to Jesus.

Mel says that in the ancient Ugaritic language about three thousand years ago the name Muhammad/ Mehmet meant desirable or precious. Also in Sematic it meant Barak; blessed and was meant for the Messiah. Mel also talks about having the Name on coins with crosses on them; for example a 6th century coin in Yemen in 523 A.D. with the name Mehmet in Sabaic script. The term was used for Jesus and then was taken by the Muslims to mean an Arabian prophet.

Al Fadi and brother Mel. start a new series on the origin of the name Mohammad. 1. Where is it in the Bible. 2. The earliest reference to Mehmet. 3.The use of the name on coins. 4. The seventh century chronicles. 5. Who is Mehmet in the Quran. The origin of the name Mehmet in Hebrew means" the desired one" (ps. 68:16, Pro. 12:12). In Song of Salomon(16:5), it is referring to the Messiah; all together lovely. Both Jews and Christian say that the name refers to the Messiah. Since the Messiah is Jewish it can not refer to Mohammad the Arabian prophet.

Muslims deny that God is triunity , yet in the Quran God is referred to with the plural pronoun" we". Muslims deny that God is triunity , yet in the Quran God is referred to with the plural pronoun" we". In Sura 2:23,106, Sura10: 94, and Sura 66:12 where it says that God and the Holy Spirt breathed into Mary. Also in the Quran it says that the Spirit appeared to Mary in the form of a man. Muslims can not explain the plurality of God and also his oneness. But Christian do throughout the Bible because God revealed himself that way.

The lie of the perfect preservation of the Quran is no longer believable. Dr wood and Al Fadi discuss the discovery of multiple copies of the Quran that don't agree with each other.

Al Fadi discusses a quote on his fakebook page Alfadi.cira in a new series "Simple Questions Answered". Today's quote is: If Mohammad was a prophet like Moses, why didn't he observe the Sabbath? Muslims claim that Deuteronomy 18:18 is about Mohammad. Muhammad acknowledged that it was required of him not to transgress the Sabbath in Sura 4: 154. In Numbers 15: 32-36 working on the Sabbath was punishable by death. In Sura 62: 9-11 Muslims should give up trading only when hearing the call to prayer, and not completely stop all trade on Friday which Mohammad claimed to be his Sabbath. Therefore he did not endorse the law of Moses, and in doing so he condemned himself and he is not the prophet like Moses. Jesus on the other hand fulfilled the law of Moses and if we are in Christ we also have fulfilled the law through him and we are not condemned.

Al Fadi and Brother Mel continue their talk about the connection between Islam and the Zoroastrian religion of Persia. Today they talk about the myth of the Buraq; which Muslims believe it is a flying horse, which took Mohammad to Jerusalem to Al Aqsa mosque and then to heaven. The origin of the name is Persian which means : A riding animal, a rider or a horse. In Zoroastrianism a demon god rides on a horse. This shows the willingness of Islam to copy other religions. They also touch on the origin of the names Aisha and Fatima. They think that they are Jewish names of two wives of Ishmael according to the Jewish Tergum.

Al Fadi, Dr Jay, and Brother Mel are starting a new series called Exposing the Myth. In this episode they are talking about how Islam borrowed from the Persian religion of Zoroastrianism. 1.The name of the ZamZam well is zoroastrian in origin. The name Zam is a pagan god which refers to mother nature. 2. The Black stone in al Kaaba is connected to another demon called Afraditi(Venus/ Lucifer). 3. The Jamarat represent Satan. 4. The Sunna/ hadith was written in persian lands. 5. The times of prayer, the washing before prayer, the kibla, and the word Jin were borrowed from Zoroastrianism.

Dr Jay and Al Fadi continue with three more historical problems with the Quran: 1. The Al Aqsa mosque( Sura 17: 1), which Muslims believe that Mohammad ascended into heaven from, was built in 710 AD, and Mohammad died in 632 AD. 2. The chain mail that is mentioned in Sura 24: 10-11 that King David wore around 1000BC ,was not invented until 200 BC. 3. The reference to the crucifixion in Sura 7: 121-124 during the time of Moses and Pharaoh in 1400 BC and Joseph 1800BC (Sura 12 :41). The crucifixion was invented 1300 years later. Yet the Quran denies the crucifixion of Jesus in Sura 4 : 157 ; this is a theological and a historical problem.

Dr Jay and Al Fadi discuss the refutations to Dan Brubaker book: Corrections in Early Quranic Manuscripts. one of the refutations is by Hythem Sidky who writes a book responding to Dan's book. Dr Jay and Al Fadi also talk about the historical problems of the Quran, they give an example from Sura 20 : 85-87,95-97, where it talks about a Samaritan who lived in the time of Moses and helped the Israelites build the golden calf. The problem with that story is the time period ; Moses lived in 1400 BC and the Samaritan did not exist until 722BC. In conclusion; having even one mistake in the Quran proves that is not divinely preserved.

Al Fadi and Dr Jay Smith continue their discussion about the interview that Muhammad Hijab had with Dr Yasi Qadi about the Quran preservation. Al and Dr Jay mention that most Muslims especially in the East do not cross the line of questioning the Quran. Dr Yasir Qadi had a crisis of faith "knowledge" when he went to Yale university. The interview caused a lot of Muslims to doubt and leave Islam. They also talked about Dr Brubaker's work on the early Quranic manuscript in his book" Corrections in Early Quranic Manuscripts" . In his work Dr Brubaker researched and found over 800 - 4,000 differences between the Hafs Quran of today and the early manuscripts. These corrections was made to fit the Hafs Quran of today. This research had a very damaging result to the belief that the Quran is perfectly preserved.

Al Fadi and Dr Jay Smith listen to a clip of a major interview of Dr Yasir Qadi by Mohammad Hijab on the topic of the preservation of the Quran. In this interview Dr Yasi Qadi admits it is a hard subject to discuss and that it should not be a public discussion. He also says that it is enough to believe it and not question it. The original interview was done on 6/8/2020. Continuing last week's discussion, Al Fadi and Dr Jay Smith say that Ibn Mujaahed chose the seven Kira'at in the tenth century. The criteria for choosing them was popularity. Hafs differ from the other Kira'at by 93 thousand dots and vowels. Therefore the preservation claim does not stand the test. They give several examples between the Hafs and Warsh: 1. Sura 2:184 ; Al miskeen and Al masaakeen; the first is singular noun and the second is the plural form of the noun. 2. Sura 3:146; the words kaatala (fought) and kutila (killed). These differences have huge theological and practice implications.

Dr Jay and Al Fadi discuss the multiple different Arabic Qurans that a Turkish sister called Hattun found in different Arabic countries starting in 2016. Dr Jay and Hattun took the Qurans to speakers corner in England where they showed them to Muslims who were shocked to hear and see that, because they have been told by their leaders that the Quran has been perfectly preserved to the letter and the dot. The Muslim response was that these are different readings for different dialects. There is five thousand differences between the two major versions which are called the Hafs and the Warsh alone. These differences do not only change the doctrine and the practice, but also the theology.

Dr Jay Smith discusses the book that Dr Asma Hilali wrote on the Sana Palimpsest manuscripts. He talks about the conclusions that she came up with by comparing it to todays Hafs Quran; she says that there are seventy variants in sixty three verses. She also believes that it is a student text. Jay says that that shuts down the idea of the preservation of the Quran which both Muslim and the Quran claim ( ie Sura 85: 21,22). Then Jay and Al discuss some of the differences as examples. Then they ask the question : Is the Quran perfectly preserved?

Shoemaker concludes that there is a problem with the carbon dating because the process dates the skin of the animal not the time the writing was written.
See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Al Fadi and Dr Jay discuss the challenges of carbon dating of manuscripts. They say that carbon dating gives the age of the material that is written on not the ink. There is no method found that dates ink because the way ink is mixed to make colors. Animal skin is costly and it takes time to cure. Shoemaker argues that carbon dating is not entirely accurate . That is why scholars had to look at the paleography of the writing which help determine the style of writing and in turn the time it was written. Shoemaker conclude that the carbon dating supports the Abd Al Malik/ Al Hajaj timing.

It is very large, and has a lot of taping over words. 6. The Sana manuscripts. It is most recent discovery, 1975 in Yemen. It is dated to early to mid 8th century due to the presence of vowels and dots. It is not the private copy of Utthman or one of the copies that he sent to various centers. 2. The Samarkand Manuscript, found in Tashkent, Uzbekistan; it is not a complete manuscript(43 Soras only). It is lazy man manuscript, and was written by scribes who didn't know Arabic . 3. Al Fadi and Dr Jay Smith continue discussing Shoemaker's book; Creating the Quran. Today they are wondering what happened to the Al Hajjaj- Abd Al Malik paradigm. They continue to talk about another scholar Robert Hoyland who said that none of the previous religions in the seventh century has heard of a book called the Quran. Then they conclude that the strongest arguments for a later Quran is the manuscripts evidence which they are going to discuss in details in later episodes.

The dialogue of Abraham of Tiberias, a Christian, with Amir Abdul Al Rahman Al Hashemi, in Jerusalem in the 9th century, during the Abbasid period, mentioning that Al Hajjaj produced the final authoritative version of the Quran. 2. The Apology of Al Kindy, is another Christin work written during the 9th century that talks about Al Hajaj; under Abd Al Malik; made a substantial changes to the Quran. Abd Al Malik was an Umayyad Caliph during the 8th century who built the Dome of the Rock and Arabized the Quran .

Al Fadi and Dr. Jay Smith discuss what the Muslim leaders of early centuries of Islam and what Muslim leaders of today say about the Preservation of the Quran. Today's leaders including Shabir Ali, Abdula Yusef Ali, and Yasir Qadi, to name a few, claim the perfect preservation of the Quran; They say that today's Quran is the same exact Quran of Othman days to the letter. Going back to the first centuries of Islam ; Muslims did not claim that at all; in fact substitution (abrogation) was normal. Some of the early leaders that said that are Bukhari, Ibn Abi Dawood, Aisha, just to name a few.

Al Fadi and Dr. Jay raise more questions about the origin of the Quran which create more problems about the Quran: 6. How can you have a dialectic problem in the mid 7th century unless you have a written text? 7.Why did Othman burn the other copies? 8. How can you burn a dialect? 9. If the Quran that Othman asked Zaid ibn Thabit to write in the Qurashi dialect was the second compilation of the Quran, why do we have 37 different Qurans today? They conclude that tradition says that Othman sent five copies to five cities/provinces, yet Muslims can not come with a manuscript from the five copies of the seventh century Quran(Othman's).

Al Fadi and Dr, Jay Smith continue their discussion of Shoemaker book creating the Quran. Today they talk about how this censorship affected the department of defense. After world war two the west came up with a policy of not accepting any criticism of Islam . Westerners and western academic Islamic scholars came up with a form of Islam to agree with western values. This form of Islam is not true to the historical Islam. Shoemaker"s solution to this problem is to do an accurate historical criticism of Islam.

Al Fadi and Dr Jay continue their discussion from last time on Shoemaker book Creating the Quran. This time they reveal the names of two scholars that were responsible for censoring what can be said about the Quran and Islam: 1. Wilfred Cantrell Smith; he gave the approach of how scholars should deal with Islamic material. He concluded that if any valid understanding of the Quran, one must approach the text as a believing Muslim would, and seek to understand it on that basis. 2. Mircea Eliade from the university of Chicago. These two scholars concluded that any study of Islam must be based on personal experience of Muslims. In other words Muslims have to give their stamp of approval. The problem with this approach is that it is not a true scholarly approach.

Al Fadi shares some of the reasons why we celebrate Christmas: 1. It is a reminder of the promise God made to Adam and Eve after the fall. 2. Because of God's love for us He gave us the greatest gift ever(Jesus) 3. We have to accept the gift of Jesus by faith. 4. By believing in Jesus as the savior we go to heaven. 5. By believing we have a direct communication with God. 6. God became a man and dwelt amongst us. 7. This is the greatest gift to mankind. God loved us while we were still sinners, and by believing in the gift and accepting it we have eternal life.

The Quran was written in 652 AD, in the Quraishi dialect by Zaid ibn Thabit , Mohammad's secretary, After Mohammad's death. There were no dots or other marks in that .Muslims say that Mohammad was given the Quran in 7 different Kira'at /dialects by Gabriel. Some of the Qurans are from Syria and Iraq and they all contain different numbers of Suras. Looking at different manuscripts Jay and Ali and others conclude that none are from the 7th century, they had many variants that does not agree with the Hafs Quran, the most used version . The Question remains ; Where is the original Quran?

Al Fadi and Dr Jay discuss the reasons that the Dome of the Rock debunk the S.I.N. According to the S.I.N. Mohammad was taken to the rock where he was ascended into heaven and came back in the year 621. First the Dome of the Rock does not have a qibla, but the two mosques next to it do and are facing Petra. They mention that the Dome of the Rock we have today was not the one built by Abd Al Malik. The building itself was destroyed and rebuilt eleven times. In the second part of the episode they talk about the claim of preservation of the Quran by the Muslims. Jay says that the complete copy of the Quran was produced during Uthman the Calif . All Muslims had to do to back up the claim is to produce a copy of the manuscript from the time of Uthman and have them compare it with a Quran copy of today to see if it is a perfect match.

Al and Jay say that there were no coins minted during the time of Mohammad 620- 660 AD in Mecca. The coins found in that time period had Byzantian crosses or Zoroastrian temples on them and they were found in Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. In 680 AD when Abd Al- Malik defeats the Byzantian , he introduces the Shahadah. He was an anti trinitarian Christian. Mohammad's name was introduced on the coins during Abd- Al Malik reign in 710 AD. The rock inscription were found in the 7th century, way north of Mecca between 640-740 AD. . None of the inscription was found in Mecca or Medina as the S.I.N. claims.

On this episode of Let Us Reason, Al Fadi and Dr Jay Smith continue their discussion on the rest of the stages of Hajj or the pilgrimage to Mecca. They notice the progression of the narrative with time. For example they point out that before 1980 there was only one pillar to throw rocks at and now they have three. Another rock they point to is the black stone which they say it turned black from white because it takes away the sins of the people. And finally they conclude the discussion about Mecca, is it really what we thought it is? Mecca as a city today was not mentioned in history until 741 A.D.

Al and Jay ask the question; does any of the empires surrounding Mecca ever heard of it or had any trade reference to Mecca? The answer is none, no surrounding empires; for example the Sabean, the Nabatean, the Assyrian, the Babylonian or even the Romans ever referenced Mecca. They also discuss some of the five stages of the Haj all of which involve stones: 1. The Ka'ba(cube), 2. Al Safa and Marwah (the S.I.N say that they are two mountains). 3. The Jamarat . They discuss if these rituals are purely Islamic or were they borrowed from Judaism. The discussion will resume next time.

Al Fadi and Dr Jay continue the discussion from last time about the Red Sea route through Mecca . Dr Patricia Crone debunked the land route theory and said that the route was through the Eastern side of the Red Sea coast. But history proves that the ships in the 2nd and 3rd century BC took the west coast of the red sea because of the five coastal cities that existed on the coast of Eretria, Sudan And Egypt. Also History shows that Jeddah was provided as a sea port to provide water for Mecca and both cities did not exist until the 8th century AD. Without Mecca there is no seventh century Islam( S.I.N.).

Al Fadi and Dr Jay Smith say that Mohammad received a revelation to change the direction of the qiblas from Jerusalem to Al Masjed Al Haram (Al Kaaba) in the year 624 AD. They use Dan Gibson's research and conclude that the direction of the Qiblas in mosques between 624-706 AD were facing Petra.- The first mosque with the qibla facing Mecca was in 724 AD. This is a bad evidence for the S.I.N. They also discuss the trade route theory by Dr Montgomery Watt who suggested the trade route went through Mecca to Gaza . He was trying to prove that Mecca was on the trade route. Dr Patricia Crone tried to prove that Mecca was never on the trade route which went through the red sea closer to the African coast and not the Arabian coast.

According to the standard Islamic narrative ; 70-300 prophets are buried in Mecca, from Adam, Seth, Noah, Daniel, also Eve, and the Queen of Shiba just to name a few. There is no archeological evidence of that. In the second episode of this show Al and Dr Jay ask the question, where is Mecca on any of the ancient maps? Dr Jay talks about the research of Dr Patricia Crone on the subject of Mecca in ancient maps. They conclude that there is no mention of Mecca until the 8th century; a 100 years after the death of Mohammad. Mecca was not the place the S.I.N. wants us to believe.

Al Fadi and Dr Jay continue their discussion about Mecca. This time they discuss Dan Gibson's archeological studies and the two books he wrote; The Nabateans, and The Geography of the Quran. Next they ask the question ; What language was used in Mecca? They conclude that the Quran was written in Nabatean Aramaic and not in the Sabiac language of Mecca and Medina . The question is why wasn't it written in the language of the area ( the Hijaz)?

Al Fadi and Dr. Jay talk about why Mecca in the S.I.N. To Muslims Mecca is the birth place of Mohammad, where Islam started, where the pilgrimage takes place , and where they face towards when they pray. Muslims claim three things: 1. It was where Adam and Eve lived. 2. Where Abraham built the Kaaba with his son Ishmael. 3. That Mecca was a center of trade. Al Fadi and Dr. Jay also say that the only place that mecca was mentioned by name was on Sura 48: 24. Tradition also says that it was a place of vegetation and that it was located in a valley with a stream going through it. Does history support these claims? they will talk about it in coming episodes.

Dr. Jay and Al Fadi continue their critique of the Standard Islamic Narrative(S.I.N.). Today they are talking about the lack of reference evidence and of eyewitness. They point out that the S.I.N says that everything happened in Mecca and Medina. It turned out that the earliest resources were 200-300 years later during the Abbasid caliphate which came to power in 750 AD, in the city of Baghdad, written by people who lived hundred of miles north of Mecca and Medina. For example Ibn Hisham born in Basra, Iraq and lived in Cairo, Egypt; Bukhari was born in Bukhara (Uzbekistan).

Al Fadi and Dr Jay compare the time between Mohammad's death and the time the sources of Islam (the Sira, Hadith etc.) were written is over two hundred years and 200-300 miles north from the place that was thought. While the time it took the Christian to write their sources is about 60 years and it was written in the same place where Christ lived and died while eyewitnesses lived. They say if we compare it to the history of the United states, the biography of George Washington and the constitution would of not been written until the 21 century.

Al Fadi and Dr. Jay continue to discuss the problem with the sources(Sira, hadith,...). They are questioning the Standard Islamic Narrative(S.I.N.). They ask the question how do we know that it is true? Going back to the time when the people who wrote the sources lived and died ; they find a gap in the timeline. For example, there is a 200 year gap between the death of Mohammad and the death of Ibn Hisham; who wrote the Sira(Biography) of Mohammad; therefore he was not an eyewitness.

Al Fadi and Dr. Jay Smith continue their discussion by talking about the man (Mohammad), the book ( the Quran) and the place(Mecca), because these are the foundations of Islam if you take one out the rest will fall. 1. Mecca; did it exist in the 7th century? 2. Mohammad; was there a man who was born in Mecca in 570 AD and lived there until 622AD, who then moved to Medina? 3. The Quran; do we have a complete copy from the 7th century that matches today's copy. These are questions Dr. Jay and Al Fadi are trying to answer.

Al Fadi and Dr Jay Smith discuss what is The Standard Islamic Narrative or S.I.N. Muslims believe that they have the final revelation; the Quran which was revealed to Mohammad, who was born in Mecca in Saudi Arabia and that Mecca was the direction of the Kiblah. There are four points of the S.I.N./ the traditions: 1. The Cira (The biography of Mohammad) . 2. The Hadith (the sayings of Mohammad) 3. Al Tafsir (the commentaries) to unpack the Quran, 4. The Tarikh(the history). Muslims can not question the traditions even if does not make sense.

Sister Ray grew up in South Africa to an Iranian Sunni family. Her mother was a Catholic that converted to Islam. She went to an all girls Catholic school, and was also raised in the traditional Islamic belief. She did start questioning her Islamic belief when she went to university and started reading Islamic books in English. She was upset about the way women are treated in Islam, unlike what she has been taught that Islam raised the value of women. She met a born again Christian in college and he invited her to go to church. The sermon was about Moses. She was asked by her Muslim people not to watch the Disney movie "The Prince of Egypt". Lloyd explains that Islam is a deen, which does not mean a religion but a totalitarian political system, which provides perspective on existence, life, society and sociopolitical system. There is 4 meanings of deen: 1. Subjugation and dominance. 2. Obedience and bondage. 3. Rules and regulations. 4. Rewards and repayment. There are two sources of the law(Sharia). A. The Quran . B. The Sunna. Lloyd goes into details to explain all of the above.

Muslim believe that Islam is the final religion and Christianity has been replaced. No other religion is accepted but Islam. Therefore there is enmity between Muslims and Christians and Jews. Those who die in Jihad and those who hide their true feelings towards non Muslims will die as martyrs. Two purposes of Islam: 1. Seek to correct the Bible( Jesus was not crucified, sura 4:157). 2. Political purpose; commanding the right and forbidding the wrong; enforcing sharia on everybody. Islam is a religion of law; what are its laws ?and where are they written? There are volumes of books concerning every aspect of life to explain for example what to do if a man marry a minor and injure her physically. It is detailed and disturbing because Islam allows having sexual intercourse with minors and children before the age of puppetry even with infants.

Al Fadi and Lloyd discuss what sharia law really is; a law or a secret. Sharia is both religious and political . Muslims are not suppose to teach it to non- Muslims because non- muslins will be learning it in bad faith, therefore it is secret with a purpose. It is the final interpretation of the Quran and Sunna. It copied and changed the Babylonian Talmud. The end goal of Islam is the will of Allah by persuasion or force. Lloyd refers to lots of sources one of them is :"The Islamic Talmud" by Judith Wagner. He adds that the Quran is not complete by itself ; it needs the Sunna and the law.

Al and Mel continue to discuss the critique of The Dome of the Rock. They say that there is multiple accounts of who and when the dome was built, which indicate that the building underwent multiple stages of rebuilding due to the fact of multiple earthquakes (ie1015, 1033AD) happened during its lifetime . To assume that the building was damaged but not the inscription is unreal. Also the number of columns changed from 8 inner and 24 outer to 12 inner and 16 outer columns. These are some of the reasons for a later date of the building and inscription according to AJ Duse.
See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Al and Mel discuss the time of the inside inscription on the building of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. Their discussion is built on the article; "The Jewish Serpent King in the Dome of the Rock" by AJ Deus. AJ says that the inscription on the inside of that building is not 7th century inscription but rather sixteenth century. They point out that the crusaders were in control of Jerusalem for two centuries (11th and 12th), and that they held Christian services inside the Dome. It is very unlikely that the pope will leave a memorial for Mohammad there. All this is a strong case for a later date.

Al Fadi and Rob Christian discuss some suras in the Quran that talk about Christ divinity and what Muslims call scientific miracles in the Quran. Sura 9:31, it talks about Jews and Christians taking their monks and rabbis as gods beside Allah and the Messiah. This implies unification since Jesus was not included in the monks and rabbis but with Allah. Sura 43:61 says that Jesus knows the last hour. This implies he is all knowing. In sura 86:7 shows that Allah does not know the correct anatomy of the human body.

One of the claims that Muslims accuse Christian and Jews of is that the Bible has been corrupted. Al Fadi and Rob Christian say that no where in the Quran or Hadith say that; Sura 115, 5:47;10:94,61:6, are some of the suras that confirm that the Bible is the word of God and was not corrupted. The reason why they say that it was corrupted because they can not find the name of Muhammad (Ahmed) in the Bible. The accusation started by a famous scholar in Spain in the tenth century. Also in the 19th century the Arabic translation of the Bible was completed and they can read and not find the name Ahmed in there.

Ibn Abbas also said about Sura 13:31, that the scribe made a mistake in two words because he was sleepy. they ask the question; How does Allah allow a sleepy scribe to corrupt the Quran? 2. Rob Christian and Al Fadi discuss the claim that Mohammad is a descendant of Ishmael. They use Muslim sources . First the Quran does not mention that Mohammad is related to Ishmael. According to a book called "History and Knowledge", vol1,pg 269 Al Abbas; Mohammad's uncle, said that Mohammad was a nobody to the Quraish tribe. Another source is Life of the Prophet by Ibn Kathir vol 1, pg. 51; it says that there is a broken lineage between Adnan and Ishmael. Rob Christian and Al Fadi say that Muslims brag that it is a miracle that Mohammad was illiterate; ie that he doesn't read or write. But another meaning to illiterate is the one who came to a people without a book(The Arabs). Sahih Bukhari #2125 says that Mohammad was a guardian to the illiterate. Mohammad was not a name but a title (the praised one). Mohammad real name at birth and until he was forty years of age was Qutham ibn Abed Al Laat, according to the book of" The life of Mohammad " by Muhammad Hasan Haykel ,page 39. This is according to Muslim sources.

According to the Quran sura 65:4, men are allowed to marry young girls before they reach the age of puppetry. They also allowed to divorce them and they(ladies) have to wait three months before they can remarry. Mohammad Hijab ,a famous Muslim apologist says that if Muslims take the Quran only in this matter, the Quran allows for severe type of Pedophilia. The prophet Mohammad says to wait a little bit, 6 year old to 9 year old, because it is harmful. So Muslims take Mohammad's council over Allah in the Quran. According to the Quran Sura 9:31 .If you listen to anyone instead of Allah you are worshipping that person; ie, Muslims worship Mohammad.

As Al and David discussed last time that Aisha was 6 to 9 years old, based on Muslim sources, when she married Mohammad. In order to justify Mohammad's actions Muslims say that Mary was young too when she married Joseph. There is no reliable source for the age of Mary, but in(Luke 1:42) the Bible says that she was a woman. And Quran chapter 3:42 says that Mary was a woman. The Bible also says that a twelve year old is still considered a child, little girl (Mark 5: 40-42). So Mary was older than 12 years old. So Mary was older than Aisha when she married Joseph.

According to Islamic sources( Sahih Bukhari 51;33,58,Sahih Muslim 33;11) Muhammad married Aisha when she was six years old and consummated the marriage when she was nine years old. This topic is hotly debated and is bothersome to Muslims even if they don't admit it, some deny it, and others don't want to apologize for it because it is true.

Al and Mel continue to add more examples of the Standard Islamic Narrative that was fabricated to match stories from the Bible: 1. Mohammad's dad taking him to the Ka'ba to thank God for him; like Simeon in the Temple giving thanks to God for seeing baby Jesus. 2. Mohammad's foster mother looking for babies to nurse riding on a donkey; like Mary the mother of Jesus riding on a donkey. 3. The rehash of the story of the transfiguration by saying that when Mohammad went to the temple he found Abraham, Moses and Jesus. 4. The rehash of the ascension; after Mohammad finished his business in Jerusalem, a ladder was brought to him until he reached heaven.

Al Fadi and Mel point out the problems with the Cira (the biography) according to the Standard Islamic Narrative(SIN). First they point out that the Cira was written by two different authors between a hundred and two hundred years after the death of Mohammad. Second they point out that the Cira borrows a lot from the Bible, both Old and New testaments; examples; A. Comparing Mohammad to Moses by saying that Mohammad did not enter Jerusalem like Moses never entered the promised land. B. Claiming that Mohammad is a descendant of Abraham through Ishmael. like Jesus was through Isaac. C. Comparing Mohammad's Mom with Mary the mother of Jesus in Luke 1:43,by saying that a light was shining through her that lit in Syria. and the Cira says that tonight a star has risen; a child named Ahmed; like it is written in Matthew 2 where the star stayed where the child(Jesus) was.

Who is this person in the eyes of Muslims? He is the great deceiver, he is blind in one eye, he has the word kafir written on his forehead just to name a few. They also think that he can deceive any Muslim and the way to protect themselves against him is to memorize a certain chapter of the Quran and were a special necklace. Some modern day Muslim teachers say that he will be followed by; Zionist Jews, Trinitarian Christian, and women and that is how they will recognize him. It is sad to see how Muslims have been taught to think that the antichrist is the Christian coming Messiah.

According to Islam Djinn (Ginn) ;also known as genies are not human, but spirits that have a free will to believe or not. Muslims are afraid of them and a lot of them have violent encounter with them. The Quran mentions Djinn in Sura 72, It says that they are different than angels. Christians believe that they are demons and we have the power to pray and set people free from that. Missionaries do that in Middle Eastern countries. The Gospel has the power to set people free.

Jay Smith asks Al Fadi ;who is a native of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, about what Muslims believe about Jeddah and what historians today believe. Muslims believe that Jeddah existed around 400 BC while historians discovered that it did not exist before the eighth century as a port to serve Mecca. They also discuss what Muslims do in Mecca, the black stone, its significance, why people try to touch and kiss it, and how all this are idolatry. Jay and Al are doing a series on Jay's channel (PfanderFilms) to debunk the myth of the black stone.

Al Fadi and Jay Smith are challenging the Islamic traditional view which says that Mecca is where Islam started, Medina is where Mohammad migrated, and that the Quran was revealed during his time in both Mecca and Medina. Also that the Quran was collected as a book after the death of Mohammad by Abu Bakr and later by Othman in 652-654 AD. Jay and Al ask the following questions: Who is Mohammad? Did he really exist? And what do we know about Mecca? By doing so the are doing a historical critique of Islam.

Al Fadi and Anthony Rogers continue their discussion to give more examples to prove Jesus' divinity in the gospel of Mark. In Mark 6: 45-52, Jesus saw the disciples out on the lake which shows His divine character of omniscience; all knowing, and the wind was against them, he came walking on the water and stopped the wind; which showed his omnipotence; all powerful. In the old testament only God can walk on the water. He also told them fear not; which echoes God telling His people in Isaiah 43:1 not to fear. Jesus said also; it is I; which in Greek means ego EIMI ;The I Am of Exodus.

Muslims claim that the gospel of Mark doesn't speak of the divinity of Christ. Al Fadi and Anthony Rogers are discussing the points that will refute that claim and prove the divinity of Christ. Mark reference Isaiah 40:3 and Malachi 3:1 at the beginning of his gospel(1:1-3), as a fulfilment of these prophecies. They also site Isaiah 42:1, as an example of how God the Father echoes this passage in Mark 1:11 . Listen to learn more details and examples.

Al Fadi and David Wood discuss why is Paul under attack by the Muslims. They say that Muslims are looking for someone to blame for Mohammad getting so many things wrong about God and the Bible. When Muslims attack the council of Nicaea you should know that they are making things up. When we get to our time; Muslims start noticing that the teaching of Paul does not line up with the teaching of Islam. We can trace all the doctrines of Christianity back to the first century. We know that Paul is more reliable than Mohammad because: 1. Paul is smarter than Mohammad; Paul knew the old testament ,Paul also went up to Jerusalem and compared his revelations with those who knew Jesus. Mohammad did not compare his revelations with Jews and Christians. 2. Mohammad justified his immorality by introducing more revelations. Al Fadi and Sam Shamoun use the Quran to show that Jesus is superior to Mohammad. They don't believe that the Quran is the word of God, but they follow Paul's example in reaching out to people. These Characteristics are: 1. Jesus's maternal family were the greatest creatures. 2. Jesus's mother was the greatest woman, and the only woman mentioned by name. 3. Jesus and His mother are absolutely sinless and pure. 4.Jesus is the pre-existent word of God. 5. Jesus was conceived and born of a virgin. 6. Jesus created things. 7. Jesus went back to God where he came from. Not so Mohammad who does not fit any of these characteristics.

Al Fadi talks about the man born blind in John 9:1-7. The common world view of that day is that if a person was blind; it was either he or his parents have sinned. Jesus refuted that by healing the man both spiritually and physically. People tend to focus on the physical and forget about the most urgent need for the human heart which is healing of the spiritual blindness. The Bible does encourage Christians to participate in government for a variety of reasons including being a buffer against the wrong interpretation of scripture. For example ,in Daniel 4:27, Daniel told the king to break off his sins; he told him the truth and that way God used Daniel to be a counselor. Another example in Jeremiah 29: 7, God asked His people to seek the welfare of the city of there captivity, and to pray for the city. There is a lot of other examples in the old testament and some in the new testament (Mt 14: 3,4, Luke 3: 18-20) are some examples that God used His people to make an influence for God's larger plan.

This view says that nothing good comes from the church's involvement in politics. It is wrong because God left Christians on earth to influence society and that by being involved in all aspects of life , which include being in government. Both church and government are instruments to help restrain evil; 1 john 3: 8. Historical church involvement helped rid societies in the past of evil practices like infanticides and branding criminals faces.

This view is usually held by pacifists, and it disagrees with Romans 13:1-6 ,where it says that government is a servant of God. They take Luke 4: 5-7 out of context. We should also take the whole view of the Bible. Daniel 4: 7 , says that the most high rules the kingdoms of men. So God is in control of governments not Satan. God allows governments to go after evil doers, He appoints governments, and he is the one that establishes them (all of them). The job of the civil government is punish those who do evil.

This view states that there is no room for religion in government and is promoted by the ACLU. It violates the first amendment by keeping religion out of government instead of keeping the government out of religious affairs. It also promotes atheisms as the religion of the government. Romans 13:4 talks about government as God's agent to institute righteousness and punish evil. If we take God out of government we remove absolute morality and promote relativism. Daniel 4:27,Luke 3:19, and Acts 24:25, are good examples of the influence of religion in government.

This view of government causes wars, and we have examples from the history of the church. Jesus was opposed to this view, Luke 9: 52- 55. True faith can not be forced; it is a voluntary decision. We should appeal to people; Matt. 11: 28, Acts 28: 23. In conclusion: Governments should never attempt to force religion on people, but provide freedom for all. Forcing religion could lead to religious persecution or having false converts.

Al Fadi continues his series on the role the church and believers in politics and the government. He mainly focuses his time on Isaiah chapter one and compares what the nation of Israel did and what the western civilization is doing, in the way that they left the biblical values and followed the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah,vs10. He also compares verse 15 when Israel's hands were full of blood with our nation with the killing of innocent babies/abortion. The nation of Israel suffered the consequences for her sin, and so will our nation if we don't repent and turn away from our sins, vs18-20. Jay Smith talks with Al Fadi about the many different Qurans that he and Hatun Tash found. Just between the Warsh and the Hafs copies, there is five thousand differences. This is specially problematic because the Quran and Muslims claim that there is not one letter is changed in the Quran. Al Fadi discusses what the believers reaction should be towards rioting. He says that we should not take sides, but think of people who are created in God's image. TheBible does not codon riots, in fact the Bible mentions that Paul faced riots because of his message, Acts 19: 23-41, which stirred up jealousy and riots. The reason was that Paul's new message was going to disturb the idol worshipers business . Our responsibility as believers is to share the good news and pray for people who are involved and those in authority, 1 Tim. 2: 1-3.
