Meanwhile Dorian has been getting close with the healer, Sorscha, and ends up unintentionally revealing his magic to her. She promises his secret is safe and that she will help him find a way to subdue his magic. Back in Mistward, Celaena has still not mastered how to shift, but a frightening encounter with some skinwalkers forces her to do so. With Rowan’s help, she successfully blasts the skinwalkers into crispy bacon, but is this the end or just the beginning of the mysterious creepy creatures?

Welcome back to the Booked On Fantasy Podcast! We are thrilled to dive back into the current timeline of events, as we begin our deep dive of Heir of Fire. Celaena arrives in Wendlyn, and after a week of semi-degenerate spying, she resolves she wouldn’t be assassinating her targets, but per Elena’s request she would, “do what needs to be done.” Celaena decides she needs answers from her great aunt, the Fae Queen Maeve, and we are introduced to Rowan and it’s pretty clear to us that this broody mythical man just might be our new shadow daddy.

Let’s talk about sex baby, let’s talk about…Celaena and Chaol!!! Despite the evil tension that continues to grow in the castle, Celaena and Chaol spend a romantic evening together to celebrate his birthday. Meanwhile, Dorian is determined to learn more about his magic and sets up a consultation with our favorite chicken horking witch - Baba Yellowlegs. Of course this wouldn’t be a gripping fantasy book without a major event, and sure enough, our Captain of the Guard gets NABBED straight out of the castle gardens.

 “All Hail King Aegon!”...if you can find him. Welcome to episode 9 of our House of the Dragon recaps! Welcome back to “Keeping Up With The Targaryens!” Today’s episode was full of drama, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. The family comes together for a funeral to honor Lady Laena, but don’t worry, we caught all those loaded looks too! As Rhaenyra and Daemon finally come together (as more than family), little Aemond makes a bold move for Vhagar - which costs him an eye. A knife fight ensues. In the aftermath Alicent begs for revenge on behalf of her son, but Viserys being Viserys, simply commands everyone to just get along! The episode ends with Laenor’s great escape - which we hope, brings him the freedom he’s always wanted.

Cheers! We’ve reached the end of Throne of Glass! This book marked the end of many things: the end of a love triangle, the end of evil Cain, and the end of this bizarre champions tournament. So, now it’s time to kick back and relax…PSYCHE! 

The mountain of information we downloaded in these final chapters was enough to keep us up for days - we learn more about wyrdmarks, that Nehemia has been working OT on behalf of the glass castle, and that our mysterious King is much more involved than he alludes.
