Welcome to the I’ma Need More Wine Podcast created by Kristine and Jocelyn! The podcast is now hosted by Jocelyn who is an attorney by day who gets together biweekly with her friends/special guest hosts to unpack and applaud the things we like and serve up a big WTF to things we don’t like – all while enjoying a good bottle of wine. Grab your wine and join the pop culture discussion centering mostly on television series, although there is the occasional exploration of documentaries and film. We drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a really good time.

Happy Wine Wednesday! I know it's been awhile and we're working on ramping things up and getting back on track in 2025. To kick things off, Candi joined me this week to discuss the delightful Abbott Elementary side of the Abbot/It's Always Sunny crossover. We loved it and had a lot of thoughts on the hilarious writing, the amazing pairings, and how this crossover managed to preserve the core of the Sunny characters while still making them Abbott Elementary audience appropriate.

Thanks so much for listening!

We share our frustrations with not feeling better acquainted with some of the cast, particularly Marissa, Ashley, and Tyler. We're surprised by the unexpected tension between our beloved "Black Love" couple - Monica and Stephen - and we're tired of the juicy drama happening off screen.

Hey there Bridgerton fans! I am THRILLED about the news that Sophie has been cast for season 4. In honor of this exciting announcement, I thought it was the perfect time to release my bonus discussion with Candi on Bridgerton's third season. We had a fun time unpacking more of the season after we had time to sit with it. We also agreed that it was absolutely Benedict's turn to find love, so I can't wait to see the Benophie love story unfold.

Happy Wine Wednesday! In anticipation of The Rings of Power's second season debut, Candi and Andy joined me to discuss the series pilot. Disclaimer: we recorded this episode a VERY long time ago because at that time I had no idea we were in the era of having years between seasons of a show. As always, we had lots of fun and I really enjoyed listening to Candi and Andy fan out over this property they both love so very much.

Hey lovely listeners! Michelle Jaworski is back with me this week to discuss the dragons and drama in the House of the Dragon Season 2 finale. I had a lot of fun with nicknames this week in which I debuted one for Larys and came up with a few for Michelle on the spot because she was BRINGING it this week!
We talk about dragon riders, ain't sh*t second sons, and the challenge of making Game of Thrones references in this series.
Thanks so much for listening! This is your friendly reminder that we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a great time.

Happy Monday! Candi is back with me this week to discuss the drama and dragons in episodes 6 and 7 of House of the Dragon Season 2.
The episode is mostly focused on episode 7, The Red Sowing. I had previously recorded an episode on Smallfolk, but unfortunately significant audio issues with Riverside forced me to scrap it. I was extremely grateful for my guest, Becca, giving her time so I tried to salvage one of our segments, which you'll find at the very end of this episode. Unfortunately, the audio could not be improved.
You can find and follow Becca on Twitter here.
Candi and I unpack all of the events in episode 7 while weaving in things from episode 6 where appropriate. Our discussion focuses mainly on the newly established dragon riders, including whether or not they can be trusted. There's still another mysterious dragon without a rider hanging out in the Vale and we're really hoping Rhaena will claim him.
And of course we check in on the happenings with the ain't sh*t second sons - Aemond and Daemon. We had a lot of fun talking all about the Riverlands and speculated about where Daemon goes from here now that he's finally cemented their support.
Thanks so much for listening! Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a great time. I'll be back on Sunday with my conversation about the finale and Candi has agreed to return to do a full season wrap up, so stay tuned!

Happy House of the Dragon Sunday! Newbie to the pod Michelle Jaworski joined me this week to unpack the drama in episode 5 of House of the Dragon Season 2 - Regent.
We talk about the post battle aftermath, the ain't sh*tness of the second sons, and Alicent quite literally f*cking around and finding out that you can't trust your hand or your feet!

Happy Thursday, which is *almost* Wine Wednesday! Real life has kept me very busy these days. At long last, please enjoy my discussion with Lauren Sarner about Episode 4 of House of the Dragon Season 2 - The Red Dragon and the Gold.
We had a great time talking about the big battle at the end - RIP Rhaenys and Meleys. We also get into bitchy small councils, Alicent's continued hypocrisy, and how I'm FINALLY on board with the one-eyed anime villain in the freshly laid 613 wig.
Thanks so much for listening! Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a great time!

Happy Wine Wednesday! Terence is back with me to wrap up our coverage of the SPECTACULAR second season of AMC's Interview with the Vampire. This was truly a bittersweet occasion because I have had such a blast talking to Terence about this amazing show and I'm sad to say farewell (for now) to the show and to my weekly chats with Terence about it.
We had a lot of fun talking about these messy vampires in this finale episode. We start the episode by delighting in Louis getting his lick back and serving up some fiery revenge to those coven bastards for what they did to Claudia and Madeline. And of course we talk about the brilliance of Jacob Anderson as he captures Louis's madness. That final showdown with Santiago was EVERYTHING. Ben Daniels will truly be missed, but what a sendoff that was for his character who got the whackings he deserved from Louis.
Next we talk about the SHOCKING revelations about the trial, which came as no surprise because Armand has repeatedly been revealed to be a lying liar who lies. We can't say enough good things about this cast, including the delight that Eric Bogosian brings to Daniel Molloy as he calmly and methodically ramps up to reveal to Louis that it was Lestat who saved him.
We can't wait to see that home wrecking Daniel Molloy adjust to life as a vampire in Season 3. Speaking of Season 3, we are SO ready for rock star Lestat and to see where things stand with Louis. The Loustat reunion scene was so beautifully acted, so y'all know we had lots to say about it.

Hey House of the Dragon fans! I am thrilled to welcome Lauren Sarner back to the podcast this week to discuss "The Burning Mill," which is the third episode of House of the Dragon Season 2.
Lauren and I talk about the regrettable decision by the show not to do more with Daemon and touch on the happenings at Harrenhal. We also talk about the ongoing saga of two dumb b*tches saying exaccctttly to each other AKA the developments between King Aegon and Criston as his new Hand.
We also discuss the show's continued exploration of motherhood through Rhaenyra and Alicent. And of course we get into the face off between the two at the close of the episode.
Thanks so much for listening! Lauren will be back to discuss episode 4, so keep an eye on your feed. Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a great time!

Hey there fellow Interview with the Vampire fans! The season has ended, but if you're like me you're probably in a full blown rewatch. My discussion with Terence about episode 7 - "I Could Not Prevent It" is the perfect rewatch companion. And if you're just getting around to the second season, welcome!
Terence and I do a deep dive into the trial of Claudia, Louis, and Madeline. We question whether Lestat was there voluntarily and speculate about the meaning behind Lestat's apparent shakiness at times during the trial. And of course we get into the shocking revelations in the episode that go back to Season 1, like the intense fight between Louis and Lestat and the night that Lestat gave Claudia the gift.
We also continue to question what - if anything - we can believe about Armand in these memories. We simply don't trust him! We close out our conversation giving a heartfelt farewell to Claudia and talking about the many ways in which she was failed as a human and then again as a vampire. Salute to Delainey Haynes for a superb performance this season.
Keep an eye on your feeds - my conversation with Terence about the AMAZING Season 2 finale will be out this Wine Wednesday!

Happy Wine Wednesday! Candi returned this week to discuss the second half of Bridgerton Season 3. The discussion kicks off with an "apologies, errors, and omissions" segment in which I take myself to task for context from the first two seasons of the series that I did not have available to me when we discussed the first part of Season 3. I've now watched the full series and wanted to flag key plot points that definitely shaped my thoughts on the rest of Season 3.
Candi and I then discuss our thoughts on the Lady Whistledown reveal, all things Polin, Francesca's potential love triangle, and some of the other secondary plots. We talk about what we think is up next for the Bridgertons - Benedict is LONG overdue for his own season.
The discussion - as well as me finally watching the first two seasons - left us with a lot of things we wanted to say about the series as a whole. Candi has graciously agreed to come back for another round of Bridgerton talk, so stay tuned for that!

TGIF! Terence is back with me this week to discuss Interview with the Vampire Season 2, Episode 3 - "No Pain" - an episode that in fact did feature a lot of pain. Poor Claudia! Terence and I talk about the introduction of Raglan James. We're so excited about Justin Kirk's addition to this talented cast, but we absolutely do not trust RJ whatsoever.
We also unpack the different iterations of Lestat featured in this episode via Louis and Armand. Y'all know we don't trust Armand and his recollection of Lestat in his flashbacks made us even more suspicious of him.
Of course we talk about Claudia and the Coven. We've been on edge about Claudia's safety and well being in this new group but perhaps it is Claudia's age at the time she became a vampire that we should be worried about. We also talk about Claudia and Louis just outright hustling backwards during this episode. Coming up with lies for their "Bruce the Vampire Maker" backstory with doors and windows open is a terrible idea. And Louis needs to tell Claudia that Armand knows about Lestat ASAP!
Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a great time!

Hey there Interview with the Vampire fans! We are SO back! I was delighted to welcome Terence B. Johnson back to the podcast this week to kick off our weekly coverage of IWTV Season 2. We are covering the first two episodes of the new season this week, which worked out well as we both agreed that episode 1 felt much more like a prologue and episode 2 felt more like the actual premiere. Hey there Lovely Listeners! Happy Wine . . . TGIF! Real life and adulting has been kicking my butt so thank y'all so much for your patience. The publishing schedule will be a bit modified this summer, but we will absolutely be in your feeds with lots of content!
Candi convinced me to cover Bridgerton and I am SO glad that she did. Between the soapy mess and smut, this show was right up my alley.
Disclaimer 1 - I had not watched Bridgerton before jumping into Season 3. Now that I've watched the other seasons, my thoughts about some of the characters have definitely become more complicated.
Disclaimer 2 - I also had not engaged in the fandom discourse, so this episode will be largely free of that commentary. I know that Bridgerton fans are very passionate. Having dabbled in some of the discourse following the recording I just want to say that it's time for y'all to come home from war. Your families miss you.

We had a few more topics slated for discussion, so we will be doing another round of Grey's Anatomy discussion once Candi has completed her watch of the series. As you'll hear at the end, she's in Season 11 and she's all in on seeing this through to Season 20. So stay tuned for that!

Happy Friday! Our coverage of The Ones Who Live continues this week with our discussion of Episode 5, "Become." We enjoyed the episode and were SHOCKED, but delighted by the return of Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) to the TWD universe. We share all of our favorite moments from Richonne's second honeymoon episode - including the big proposal at the end. Candi very graciously fills in a few background gaps for me on the past relationship between Gabriel and Ann/Jadis. And of course we talk about Jadis's final character run and whether or not we understood all of her choices. We close with our wishlist for the finale. In sum, we want cinnamon roll sweetness and will not be here for any bittersweet endings. This is a love story and we want a happy ending for this beloved couple. And a reunion!

Happy Wine Wednesday! Candi is back to discuss episode 4 of "The Ones Who Live" written by the multi-talented Danai Gurira. We have a scene heavy discussion this week as we discuss the multiple reckonings for Richonne - Michonne's disappointment in her reunion with Rick and the reckoning for the couple as a whole.
Of course we unpack Michonne's long awaited revelation to Rick about their son, RJ. And we talk about how the couple ultimately gets on the same page by being vulnerable and sharing how their trauma has impacted them. This was a spectacular episode and Danai exercised the utmost love and care as we navigated this important turning point for Richonne. This episode had us all in our feelings, y'all. Especially as Rick opened up about how his time with CRM made him lose Carl all over again. Those flashbacks!
We close with a little bit of speculation about what's to come. I run a few of my tin foil theories about the presence of "A"s by Candi and whether they have a larger meaning for the spinoffs and main series as a whole.
We had a few audio issues in this episode, so apologies for that! Riverside was a bit glitchy this week.
As always, thank you SO much for listening! This is your friendly reminder that we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a great time.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Candi is back this week to discuss episode 3 of "The Ones Who Live" entitled "Bye."
The writers told us to let go of a precise timeline and we discuss whether we're on the same page with that decision. We're three episodes in and hadn't yet talked about the opening sequence and theme song, so we share our reflections on that. I ask Candi how the show opening compares to the other spinoffs. We had a LOT of thoughts about Rick's big escape plan and loved every bit of Michonne's reaction to it.
We've seen two women visit Rick in his apartment so far and neither one of them is Michonne. We talk about the two women - Jadis and Thorne - who have visited Rick in his new home and whether or not we trust them. Spoiler alert: we don't.
Thanks so much for listening! We will be back next week to discuss episode 4. Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a great time.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Candi is back this week to discuss episode 2 of "The Ones Who Live" entitled "Gone." We talk about Michonne's journey to find Rick and appreciate that despite encounters with human dangers like Negan and the Whisperers in the main series, we find her still open to new people. We also discuss her decision to withhold information about RJ from Rick.
Of course, we had to celebrate the amazing performance by Matthew Jeffers as Nat. We praise Jeffers' performance and talk about his amazing chemistry with Dana Guirira, which is likely due to the two having prior acting history together. Speaking of chemistry, we loved all of the kissing and reconnecting between Richonne in this episode. And we unpack our frustration with the character who threatened our favorite couple this week - Jadis, the wild card.
Thanks so much for listening! We will be back next week to discuss episode 3. Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a great time.

My amazing conversation with Jay Giles about The Wire concludes with a bonus segment in which we reflect on the series as a whole. We share which season was our favorite and why. And of course I had to ask Jay about the "controversial" second season of the series and whether or not he enjoyed it. We talk about satisfying character deaths, our favorite moment of comeuppance, and other memorable character introductions beyond the pilot.

Happy Wine Wednesday! In anticipation of the premiere of "The Ones Who Live" AKA the Richonne spinoff, Candi is back this week to discuss everything we love about this ship. And on a programming note, we will be doing episode-by-episode coverage of "The Ones Who Live".
For this very special Richonne episode, we start off by talking about the characters individually and what we like so much about them. From there, we get into all things Richonne. We share the moment when we first started to see the romantic potential for the duo, the buildup to the pair becoming official, and where the writers left them at the end of The Walking Dead. Of course we talk about the Grimes family as a whole and some of our favorite moments with them and we each share our favorite Richonne episode.

My conversation with Jay about the pilot episode of The Wire continues! If you haven't listened to part 1 of our conversation, check it out here. In this final part of our discussion about the pilot, we talk about what worked well in the episode and whether we would change anything about this well executed hour of television. We examine whether The Wire is copaganda and close out the discussion with the thirst segment. I asked Jay to do some thirst-inspired casting for the show.
Thank you so much for listening! There will be a new episode next Wine Wednesday and keep an eye on your feed for the bonus segment in which Jay and I share reflections about The Wire beyond the pilot.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Lauren returns to the podcast this week to discuss the Barbie movie. We talk character arcs and our surprise about the film being named Barbie and featuring so much Barbie . . . and Ken. That said, there's no denying that Ryan Gosling was the perfect fit for the role. And Margot Robbie was born to play Barbie. it's WILD to think that anyone other than Robbie was ever considered for the role - looking at you, Amy Schumer.
Congrats to America Ferrara and Ryan Gosling for their Oscar nominations! Of course we talk about Ferrara's big speech and whether or not it worked for us. Her delivery of the speech was riveting, but we both wish that Gerwig had trusted her audience a little more with the film's messaging.
This movie was such a visual delight, so of course we get into favorite Barbie outfits and favorite set from the film. I also asked Lauren to tell me who her Barbie would be and what she would wear. We also applaud the film's inclusiveness, but would have loved a lot more LGBTQ+ representation.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Candi is back and we are unpacking the pilot episode of one of my favorite series of all time - The Tudors.
Y'all know how I love a period piece, so there are some fun historical facts sprinkled throughout the episode. Special shoutout to Alison Weir - my go to author for all things Tudor dynasty. You can find all of her work here.
Candi and I share impressions of the pilot as an introduction to the series, the brilliance of Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Henry VIII, and we demand justice for the many, many women who had the misfortune of being married to Henry.
If you haven't watched this series, we are here to tell you why you should get into it. It's a perfect holiday binge.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Candi returns to discuss a show that you should absolutely be watching - the Starz network series Raising Kanan. The show's third season premieres on Friday, December 1, so we thought this was a perfect time to revisit the pilot and hopefully introduce folks to their new favorite binge watch!
As always, we discuss opening scenes, memorable character introductions, and there's no way you can discuss Raising Kanan without saluting the amazing work by the show's wardrobe department.
It brought me so much joy to celebrate this talented cast, particularly the extraordinary Patina Miller and Mekai Curtis. Y'all know I love a series where female characters get to be messy, villainous, sexual, and just generally layered and complicated. Miller's Racquel Thomas is right up there with Gemma Teller-Morrow (Sons of Anarchy), Cersei Lannister (Game of Thrones), and Annalise Keating (How to Get Away with Murder) when it comes to fictional female characters whose rights and wrongs I support and delight in watching.

Happy Wine Wednesday! There are few things that will happily get me out of my love of shows featuring the Roman empire and one of them is a show that lets women be messy and complicated. In that spirit, Candi is back this week and we are talking about the pilot episode of the NBC series "Good Girls" starring Christina Hendricks, Retta, and Mae Whitman.
We talk about our introduction to Beth, Ruby, and Annie and the show's surprising premise around three women who decide to rob a grocery store. I had a fun time asking Candi to answer some random prompts inspired by the pilot, which included us talking about the most ridiculous thing we've ever done to conform with beauty standards inspired by Beth's awkward waxing scene. We also talk about whether we are the Beth, Ruby, or Annie if we decide to start a criminal enterprise and I ask Candi whether the women were hustling backwards when they decided to only take money from the grocery store. I mean - it's a grocery store! Wouldn't you grab some steak or seafood? In this economy even eggs and butter are at premium prices!

Happy Wine Wednesday - and happy birthday to me! I knew this episode was being published on my birthday, so I wanted to discuss the pilot of one of my favorite series of all time - Spartacus.
Candi is back and she very aptly notes that I spend a lot of time thinking about the Roman Empire. This time around we are talking gladiators and slave rebellions in this series centered on its namesake, who was brilliantly portrayed by both Andy Whitfield and Liam McIntyre.
As we did with our discussion about the Rome pilot, I sprinkle in a few historical pointers here and there. And as always, we talk character introductions, what worked well in the pilot, and we tell you why you should continue on with the series. We celebrate Spartacus for giving us complicated, messy female characters. We also salute the fight choreography and Andy Whitfield's brilliant ability to make Spartacus's strength and fighting ability completely believable despite not being the most towering figure.
Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a great time.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Sheena returns this week to discuss the pilot episode of a series that stars one of my all time favorite messy characters - How To Get Away With Murder. Long time listeners know how much I adore when women get to be messy, flawed, and complicated. Few have done it better than Viola Davis in her brilliant portrayal of Annalise Keating.
As we do with all Shondaland shows, we talk about what the HTGAWM "imprint" is. Scandal has the fast talking monologues, Grey's has the opening/closing narration from Meredith - what's the HTGAWM imprint? Likewise, as with the other shows in the Shonda-verse, we talk about the location and whether Philadelphia is as impactful to this series as Washington, DC is to Scandal.
Y'all know we unpack the memorable character introductions, particularly the manner in which the writers introduce us to Annalise and help frame her world in the pilot. We also talk about which introductions to the Keating 5 (who I like to refer to as the "Murder Muppet Babies") and whom among them left a strong impression with us in the pilot.
Given that Sheena and I are both attorneys, it should come as no surprise that we had some thoughts about HTGAWM's portrayal of law school and Annalise's approach to practicing law and advocating on behalf of her clients.
As always, we have a HTGAWM inspired thirst segment in which we swoon over cast members and share the celebrity crushes with whom we'd like to recreate that Annalise/Nate scene.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Candi makes her triumphant return to the podcast to help me celebrate 100 episodes of the podcast! In honor of this special occasion, I decided to talk about one of my absolute favorite series of all time - HBO's Rome.
Candi and I unpack the pilot episode of the series. I was delighted that she loved the show so much that she ended up watching the whole thing! This episode focuses on the pilot only and I think we make a convincing case as to why you should keep watching if you are also new to the series. We'll definitely be revisiting more of it now that I know Candi loved it as much as I did.
The episode kicks off with a few reflections on reaching 100 and then we get into all things Rome. As with all of our pilot episode discussions, we reflect on character introductions, writing choices, what we thought was effectively done, and we close with the thirst segment. I also sprinkle in a few historical tidbits for a little razzle dazzle.
It was such a pleasure to mark this exciting occasion not only by discussing a show that I love, but it was a great opportunity to celebrate the amazingly talented Ray Stevens. His portrayal of Titus Pullo is truly the heart of this entire series.
Many thanks to each and every guest who has given their time to the podcast. It was an honor to speak to each and every one of you. And thank YOU, listeners, for your support. I love you and I appreciate you.

Happy Wine Wednesday, Pitches! Sheena joins me this week to discuss a beloved show that was cancelled far too soon - Pitch. We unpack the pilot episode of the show and work through some of our salty feelings about this fantastic series only getting one season.
We kick off by discussing our introduction to Ginny Baker - portrayed by the amazing Kylie Bunbury - and the use of sports commentary to help us get acquainted with the glass ceiling smashing pitcher and the world in which she is making her debut as the first woman to be called up to a Major League Baseball team.
Next, we get into memorable character introductions outside of Ginny. We talk about the influence and abuse of her father Bill Baker (Michael Beach). We discuss Amelia (Ali Larter) as Ginny's no nonsense agent and we swoon over Blip Sanders (Mo McRae).
We share our thoughts on what worked well in the pilot and whether there was anything we would have done differently. And as always, you know we got into our thirsty thoughts inspired by this very hot cast.
Friendly reminder: we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a great time.

Happy Wine Wednesday! I am delighted to welcome back the brilliant, hilarious, and insightful Reverend Solomon Missouri to talk about the incredible second season of The Bear. I had a great time discussing the first season of The Bear with Solomon, so I was thrilled when he enthusiastically agreed to return to talk more about this show we love so very much.
One of the reasons why The Bear resonated so much with me is because I often feel seen, attacked, or sometimes both by the writing for certain characters. So with that in mind, I asked Solomon to share the character beats that resonated most with him this season.
We delve deeper into the character arcs by sharing the ones we enjoyed most. It should come as a surprise to no one that we both loved what the writers did with Richie this season. Of course we get into the standout episodes of the season - we spend a lot of time unpacking the parade of stars and stellar performances in the chaotic episode "Fishes."
As always, the episode ends with the thirst segment in which our thoughts and reflections go from wholesome to lusty. In honor of Carmy's trip down memory lane with Claire, I asked Solomon who he would like to pitch a little woo to if he was gifted a time machine that would make all the beautiful people throughout history fair game for his affection.
We also get into the fandom shipping wars. It's time for y'all to come home from war - your families miss you. We talk Carmy x Claire, Carmy x Syd, and Marcus x Syd. Shippers aren't going to get on the same page about Carmy's perfect mate, so I ask Solomon whether Ebra x Tina are the couple that perhaps the shippers could unite behind and finally find some peace.
Thank you so much for listening!

Happy Wine Wednesday! Jay Giles returns to the podcast this week to discuss one of our favorite fictional characters - Raylan Givens. Long time listeners will recall that Jay previously joined me to discuss the Justified pilot and share reflections on the series as a whole, so it only made sense to have him back to discuss our thoughts on the first episode of Justified: City Primeval.
We follow the lead of the writers and kickoff our conversation with our thoughts on our re-introduction to Raylan Givens. The writers wasted no time in giving us a peek into how Raylan has grown as both a father and a law enforcement officer since we last saw him in the Justified finale.
The "City Primeval" in this series is Detroit, so we discuss this new location for the next chapter in the Raylan Givens story and how it shapes the story and the world in which Raylan is now navigating. OG Justified fans know that Detroit was definitely a location visited in the original series, but there's definitely a different feel to it now that the Motor City is the center of this season.
As with the original series, Timothy Olyphant is surrounded by a very talented group of actors. Jay and I talk about how much fun it was to see talented actors like Vondie Curtis Hall, Aunjanue Ellis, Amin Joseph, and Keith David in the opening episode.
We talk about what was well done in the pilot, what didn't work so well, and our wishlist for the season. And as always, we close out with the thirst segment and a few prompts inspired by this revival.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Philip of Fandom Bite/Fandom Slash returns to the podcast this week to discuss the delightful Amazon Freevee series, Primo. As we wisely counseled you in the past about shows such as Grand Crew, Abbott Elementary, and Wu-Tang: An American Saga, this is some sh*t you should absolutely be watching. "Freevee" means this show is FREE with very minimal commercials, so there is absolutely nothing keeping you from checking it out. You can find it here.
Primo is a heartwarming, funny show based on the life of the show's creator Shea Serrano. Philip and I discuss the pilot and then share our thoughts about the first season as a whole. Of course we tackle the very difficult task of figuring out which uncle is our favorite. We love the uncles as an exploration into masculinity and the respective points of view they bring to their relationship with Rafa. We also discuss our thoughts about Rafa and Drea - the casting for both of these characters was absolutely perfect.
We really hope this wonderful show gets another season. Pay the writers and actors so we can get more of this delightful family! In that spirit, we close the discussion with our wish list for season 2. And in the thirst segment, I asked Philip to give me some thirst-inspired choices for actors he'd like to see join this very talented cast.

Happy Wine Wednesday! The Righteous Gemstones are FINALLY returning for a new season, so I thought this was a perfect time to revisit the pilot episode of this amazing HBO series.
We kick off our discussion with the cold open in which we get a preview into the Gemstone family dynamics during a 24-hour baptism marathon in China. We then discuss our introductions to Eli, Jesse, Judy, and Kelvin as we follow them to their respective homes. I had a lot of questions about Jesse's evening routine.
We love all of the shows in the Danny McBride-verse, so of course we talk about his imprint on on this show - particularly the dialogue between characters. As always, we close out the discussion with our less than wholesome thirsty thoughts. We discuss the need for a scientific exploration of the stereotypes about preacher's kids and which famous preacher's kid we would choose to carry out this very important research.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Candi is back and this week we are discussing the spectacular second season of NBC's Grand Crew. Y'all know from our season 1 discussion that we love this show and the second season only deepened our appreciation for it.
Grand Crew continues to be a perfect comfort show. The writers did an amazing job at highlighting the chemistry among this spectacularly talented cast.
We talk about our favorite character arcs, standout episodes and shared what we thought worked well during the season. And of course we discussed the shocking departure of Grasie Mercedes. We want Fay back!
We are determined to manifest a well deserved renewal for Grand Crew, so we talked about our wish list for season 3. And as always, the discussion wraps on a thirsty note.

Happy Wine Wednesday! We're back with another installment in our Boozy Beginnings series. Candi joined me this week to talk about the pilot episode of the HBO series Barry.
We kick off our discussion by talking about the opening scene in which we meet Barry who looks like he is struggling to feel satisfied in his career as an assassin. We also talk about how the writers very efficiently acquainted us with him via some well done exposition from Fuches.
Barry is the show's namesake and undoubtedly the main character, but the interesting cast of characters is absolutely part of the charm of this series. In light of that, I ask Candi a few questions for sh*ts and giggles - including her thoughts about NoHo Hank. We love him!
After a few Barry-inspired questions, we share what worked well in the pilot and whether there was anything that didn't work for us. If you're new to Barry, we try to further entice you to watch by sharing three words to describe the series. Have no fear, our discussion is spoiler free - nothing beyond the pilot episode.
As always, we end with our thirsty thoughts. It's a Barry episode, so of course we swoon over Bill Hader.
Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a great time.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Candi joins me again this week to close out our thoughts on the amazing second season of Abbott Elementary. We already covered the first ten episodes of the season and you can hear that fun discussion here.
We talk about the season as a whole, our favorite character arcs, guest actor standouts, our favorite episode of the second half, and of course we get into the Gregory and Janine of it all.

NOTE: This episode was recorded in February, which was prior to the recent allegations regarding Jonathan Majors.
Happy Wine Wednesday! Candi and Andre join me this week for the home going services of Queen Ramonda and her son King T'Challa in Marvel's Wakanda Forever.
The movie wasted no time addressing the tremendous loss of Chadwick Boseman, so we follow that lead in our discussion and start by talking about the direction Ryan Coogler took in bringing that loss to the screen. We went into the film thinking there would only be one major loss so it was a surprise when Queen Ramonda was tragically killed. I ask Candi and Andre to share their thoughts about that narrative decision. Other topics covered include:
And of course we close with our thirst segment, which was inspired by the African American urge to avoid vast bodies of water.

Happy Wine Wednesday my fellow long suffering Teen Wolf fans! This episode is aptly titled "Another Round" because we're having one last therapy session on the hot mess that was the Teen Wolf Movie. I've enlisted a fantastic panel of guests to join me - Philip, Stacey, and Terence.
They also graciously agreed to do a very brief chat about the Wolf Pack pilot. It is truly bewildering that Jeff Davis gets to continue his reign of terror on supernatural fans with an all new show featuring Sarah Michelle Gellar.
The episode kicks off with our Wolf Pack discussion and right around 1:09:42 mark, we get into the Teen Wolf movie. I decided to use the Festivus approach to the discussion and you better believe we had a lot of grievances to air.
If you haven't already, be sure to check out my fun chat with Laura Stone and Devil Doll about the Teen Wolf Movie as well. The duo worked with me to construct a Teen Wolf Movie compliment sandwich in which we had two very thin layers of compliments with a huge heaping portion of constructive criticism in between.
As always, thanks for listening. And friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a great time!

Happy Wine Wednesday! Our coverage of HBO's The Last of Us concludes this week with a discussion about the finale and our overall thoughts about the first season.
Of course we get into Joel's rampage and contemplate whether he has some long overdue karma coming his way. We also question whether it's a wise choice or hustling backwards to do experimental, life-ending surgery on the ONLY person known to have immunity. It was really interesting to see how Ellie became immune, but that horrifying scene with her mother giving birth while fighting a clicker was absolutely a chicken skin moment.
We share our thoughts on the first season as a whole and our wish list for season two. As always, the discussion ends with the thirst segment. I asked Candi to do some thirsty guest casting for the next season.
Thanks so much for your support of these episodes! We had a blast discussing it and we are absolutely invested in this series.

Hey there lovely listeners! It's not Wine Wednesday, so think of this as a Sunday surprise instead. Candi and I are entering the home stretch of our coverage of HBO's The Last of Us with our discussion about episodes 7 and 8.
We share our thoughts on getting more insight into Ellie's backstory in episode 7 and the discovery that she has much more in common with Joel than we understood. We then move on to episode 8 and the evil cult. We're always here for Ellie saving herself, but we did think there was some room for improvement in the writing for David. It would've been nice to have a little more of a reveal of him as a villain, rather than him looking completely sketchy from the very first moment he appears. Candi had a few questions about Joel's miraculous ability to rally from his injury. Penicillin is great, but there is usually a crash after that initial feeling of improved health.
As always, we talk about who was hustling backwards, the moment that felt most like a video game, and we give out a yummy chicken sandwich what we enjoyed most from the episodes. For the thirst segment, we were inspired by Riley and Ellie's first date so we discuss what our perfect date during the apocalypse would be.
Thanks so much for listening! Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a great time. Keep an eye on the feed for our close out discussion of The Last of Us. We will share our thoughts on the finale and reflections on the first season as a whole.

Happy Wine Wednesday! The illustrious, brilliant, funny, and insightful Rod Kim makes his triumphant return to the podcast this week to discuss the multiple Oscar award winning film, Everything Everywhere All At Once. Longtime listeners will remember Rod from our very fun conversation about Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
The only thing that could make my viewing experience better was getting an opportunity to talk about this film with Rod.
We get into some of the central themes - including strength in kindness, the impact of generational trauma, the weight of not living up to expectations, and the symbolism of the everything bagel.
Of course you know we celebrate the spectacular performances in the film. Is there anything that Michelle Yeoh can't do? I don't think so. And how amazing was Ke Huy Quan? I have long poked fun at folks not recognizing the difference between Superman and Clark Kent just because of a pair of glasses, but Ke Huy Quan made me a believer in the difference a pair of glasses can make.
We also run through a list of faves from Jobu's spectacularly campy looks to the hilarious assortment of jumping pads. We wrap our discussion with the thirst segment. I put a twist on the everything bagel concept and asked Rod to give me a few of his celebrity crushes he would assemble for an everything bagel of love and lust.
Thanks so much for listening! Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a great time!

Happy Wine Wednesday! Our regular coverage of HBO's The Last of Us continues with our discussion about episode 6, "Kin." Tommy returns with a wife (portrayed by the fantastic Rutina Wesley) and baby on the way and all three managed to make it out of this episode alive - hooray!
Candi and I unpack the dynamic between the newly reunited brothers. We had a lot of questions about what exactly Tommy told Maria about his early apocalypse days with Joel. I had some questions about the brothers' newly found accents because the twang was a little thick and not something I'd noticed in the pilot.
We also share our impressions of Maria - it was truly a Black History Month miracle that she managed to make it out of this episode alive and her family intact to boot.
Of course we get into the growth of Joel and Ellie's friendship and share what we would teach Ellie about from the pre-2003 world.
In honor of reunions and loving relationships featured in the episode, the thirst segment discussion centers on the celebrity crush we would endure a long, taxing trip across several states to get to against all odds.
Until next time! Friendly reminder that we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a really great time.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Two new spectacular guests to the pod - Laura Stone and Devil Doll - join me this week for the home going services of Derek Hale. Grab your wine and join us as we unpack our feelings about the Teen Wolf movie. Laura and Devil Doll are both passionate Teen Wolf fans and I had the best time talking about this mess with them.
Before getting into this mess of a movie, I asked Laura and Devil Doll for their reflections on Teen Wolf as a series. We then get into our deep dive of the movie. We take the "compliment sandwich" approach to this conversation. We've got a very robust set of grievances with this film sandwiched between very thin layers of compliments. It should come as no surprise that we kick off our critical thoughts about the film with the many, many crimes committed by Jeff Davis against Derek Hale. We chat about the messy ways in which this film tries to grapple with the absence of Dylan O'Brien and you better believe we talk about the egregious treatment of Arden Cho.
We also lament that Jeff Davis decided to celebrate the opportunity to infuse more adult content into the film thanks to it being on Paramount Plus by giving us a sprinkling of profanity and ass shots - hence the title of this episode. We also give thanks to Colton Haynes and Ian Bohen for bringing some much needed camp to this film. Truly wish Jackson had been given more to do!
A lot of my friends had thoughts about this film, so this is the first of two episodes in which we will be discussing it - so stay tuned!

Happy Wine Wednesday! Candi and I are back this week to discuss episodes 4 and 5 of HBO's The Last of Us. Given that episode 4 was mostly setup, we thought it was best to package our discussion about this two-episode arc together.
We discuss all things Kathleen, including speculation about her origin story, why her people were so loyal to her, and how her unraveling led to some terrible leadership decisions that literally came back to bite her. Of course we applaud the amazing performances by Lamar Johnson (Henry) and Keivonn Woodard (Sam). Give us Keivonn as Miles Morales!
As we've seen in past episodes, the friends they meet along the way will absolutely shape the dynamics between Ellie and Joel. We talk about Ellie getting an opportunity to be in the protector role and what we think is next for her and Joel.
From Kathleen ignoring the infected to Ellie shooting bullets and an oversized truck, there were quite a few recipients of the hustling backwards awards this week - hence the episode title.
Thanks so much for listening! Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a good time.

Happy Wine Tuesday? Yep. You're getting another week of double episodes! This week I'm celebrating a new podcast guest, a new season of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, and the same ol' Jersey antics. Fellow attorney, lover of all things housewives, and Lakers fan Sheena joins me this week to discuss the RHONJ season 13 premiere, "New Friends, Same Jersey." As you can see from the runtime, we had a LOT to say. Yikes!
I couldn't have Sheena on and not pick her brain about a few hot topics around the Housewives' universe. We talk RHOP, RHONY, and Ultimate Girls Trip. We also talk a bit about the dynamics on RHONJ heading into the season 13 premiere. We talk about where the franchise ranks for us, take a side on the never-ending feud between Teresa/Melissa/Joe, discuss whether we would like to see more diversity on the show, and we share where we think Teresa stands in the pantheon of housewives.
We FINALLY get to the season 13 premiere and share our overall thoughts on the episode. We get into taglines, the newbies, discuss the disagreements that the longstanding cast members brought into the new season, and of course we get into the calendar featuring the men. We close out the main discussion about the premiere with what we're looking forward to most this season.
I introduce Sheena to her very first thirst segment and I charge her with sharing the 12 Housewives universe players she would include in her charity calendar. Everyone is fair game from main cast, partners, friends of, or just memorable one-off guest appearances.
Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a good time.

Happy Wine Wednesday and Happy Wu Wednesday! Candi is with me this week to talk to y'all about a show you should absolutely be watching, Wu-Tang: An American Saga.
I was drawn to this show because I love Wu-Tang Clan so very, very much. We get into our history with the group and what their catalog has meant to us. But let me be VERY clear, you do not have to be a Wu-Tang Clan fan (although, why wouldn't you be?) nor do you have to even know who Wu-Tang is (again, why wouldn't you know?) to enjoy this show because at its core, it is excellent storytelling and equally amazing acting. Good television is good television!
Normally, I would do a discussion about the pilot episode as a gateway for listeners to a show. But I couldn't resist the spectacular episode 6 of season 2 - "Protect Ya Neck" - for the topic of this discussion. It perfectly exemplifies why this show is much see television. And Candi, who had not watched any of the series before, agreed that it was a perfectly fine introduction to the show and she did not feel lost - so take the leap! Listen to our discussion and check out the episode. And once you check out the episode, go back and start from the beginning. Depending on your country, it will be available on either Hulu or Disney Plus.
I timed this release to coincide with the Season 3 premiere. Season 3 is the final season of the series, so I wanted to honor it by discussing one of the strongest episodes of the series to hopefully get this great show on your radar. This is a cast of superstars and I'm so happy that this series introduced me to each and every one of them.
It made my heart so full - which you'll hear in my terrible attempts at dropping some of my favorite Wu verses - to do this episode as a love letter to both the rap group I love so very much and the brilliant, talented cast who brought this story to life.

Happy Valentine's Day, lovely listeners! We love you over here at the pod, so we wanted to give you a gift on this day of love - it's our discussion about episode 3 of The Last of Us, "Long, Long Time." Like everyone else, we LOVED this episode.
We revisit our thoughts on the outbreak origin story after receiving additional context via Joel. We also chat about all of the times in the pilot where Joel and Sarah narrowly missed getting exposed to the tainted grain supply.
We then get into all things Bill and Frank. We talk about their storyline in the show and note some major changes from the game - all of which we thought were great. We talk about Bill's final words to Joel and what that means for his dynamic with Ellie going forward.
There were a few moments in which the characters were hustling backwards, so we note those. As always, the discussion closes with the thirst segment and I ask Candi which celebrity crush she would like to have as the Bill to her Frank during apocalyptic times.

Happy Wine Wednesday! We're back with our regular coverage of HBO's The Last of Us. This week we're talking about episode 2 - "Infected." We talk about the very interesting cold open and our complicated feelings about where the writers seem to be suggesting that the outbreak began. Now that we've had more time with Ellie, we get into our impressions of her and thoughts on her introduction as a character.
We pour one out for Tess and share the moment when we realized she actually had hope, which meant she was not long for this world. We then give out several awards for the episode - the moment that gave us serious chicken skin, the video game moment of the week, the hustling backwards award, and we close it out giving a delicious chicken sandwich award to our favorite part of the episode.
I spend a lot of time freaking out over the clickers and the fact that they actually fight back - they were swinging, y'all! After I finally calm down from my freakout, Candi and I discovered that we have actual magical powers when we come together thanks to an obscure, but memorable reference that we both decided to discuss during the thirst segment not knowing the other was thinking of the exact same moment. We will do our best to use our powers responsibly.

Happy Wine Wednesday! February is the month of love and it's Black History Month, so we're kicking things off with a show that features one of my favorite, albeit toxic, relationships while also weaving in the history of Black Americans due to an inspired casting choice. Pod fave Terence Johnson returns this week to discuss the pilot episode of Interview with the Vampire. This show is so good and Jacob Anderson is an absolute revelation!
We talk about the pilot's opening hook, character introductions, and the choice of New Orleans as the setting. We share our thoughts on worked well in the episode, including the amazing performance by Jacob.
Terence gives a closing pitch on why you should keep watching beyond the pilot. As someone who has now watched the entire first season after this recording, I wholeheartedly agree with Terence. You should definitely stick with this show!
Of course we close the conversation by getting thirsty. To borrow from Louis, we talk about who would have us seeking ass before absolution and we do some thirst-inspired fan casting for season 2.

Happy Wine Wednesday! This week we are kicking off our regular coverage of The Last of Us with a discussion about the amazing pilot episode of the HBO series. We talk about the pacing of the writing, our introduction to Joel, and our thoughts on the rules of zombie engagement. We were both deeply concerned about how fast these zombies move.
Programming Note: In the episode, I reference my conversation with Terence Johnson about Interview with a Vampire. That was previously scheduled to come out before this episode, but my editor made a miracle happen and we got this discussion back quicker than expected. Happy Wine Wednesday! It's the holiday season and shows are on hiatus, so it's the perfect time to discover new faves and take the occasional trip down memory lane to revisit past shows. In the previous episode, Reverend Solomon Missouri and I discussed a new fave - The Bear. This week, I'm switching gears and revisiting a show that had so much potential and then completely alienated its audience in an astonishing fashion - Sleepy Hollow.
I'm joined this week by Stacey and Tamara to unpack our very complicated relationship with this series. The discussion is broken out into two parts. In part 1, we discuss the Sleepy Hollow pilot and revisit the magic of Tom Mison and Nicole Beharie on screen. As always, the pilot discussion is spoiler free and limited to the events of the pilot only.
In part 2 of the discussion, we talk about the series as a whole and pull no punches. We get into the terrible treatment of Abbie Mills as a character and Nicole Beharie as an actress. We discuss the writers biggest crimes against the audience and the many, many times the show completely wasted the potential of its talented cast. It was a long overdue, cathartic conversation about a show that went from being must see television to me blocking most of the writers' room on social media after their poor responses to valid criticisms from the fans.
Check the chapter markers to see where part 2 of the discussion begins (roughly around the 1:16:00 mark).

HAPPY WINE WEDNESDAY! This episode was a dream come true. I got to talk about one of the best shows of 2022 with the illustrious Reverend Solomon Missouri. Solomon is a Twitter pastor, play cousin, problem (his words, not mine), and preeminent marriage counselor to wayward athletes. I became acquainted with him thanks to his epic thread in which he cautioned Dell Curry about the current state of dating - they're pegging out here!
Solomon joined me to discuss a show you should absolutely be watching - The Bear. Part 1 is all about the pilot episode with no spoilers and part 2 is a spoilery discussion in which we discuss Season 1 as a whole.
Unfortunately, we had some audio issue with part 1. If you can't take the audio issues, here's the link to the start of part 2 of the discussion which sounds much better. It's right around the 2 hour mark if your podcast app doesn't support chapter links. Audio issues aside, I hope you enjoy this discussion. Solomon was an absolute delight!
I love you for listening. Friendly reminder that on this podcast we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a good time!

Happy Wine Wednesday! Candi returns this week to close out our coverage of House of the Dragon. As I previewed in my discussion with Maddie in our Season 1 wrap-up, I wanted to create a separate space to discuss the show runner's decision to cast Black actors to portray the Valeryons while also deciding not to introduce race into the writing. The decision was at times both frustrating and amusing. It also created moments that felt both intentionally and unintentionally Black as f*ck and that's what Candi and I get into this week.
Some moments are light - like Black ass names and crab boils. And some moments are a little heavy - like character erasure. We also talk about how many fans took their cues from the writers, which meant you can find a million and one posts about Aemond while having to go to great lengths to find appreciation for characters like Laena, Baela, and Rhaena - it's not like the show gave any of them a lot of material.
Candi shares her thoughts about the season as a whole and of course we get thirsty.

12:51 - We revisit my character arc predictions from the pilot discussion and the very long list of things I got wrong.
1:54:39 - A well deserved mea culpa for Viserys.
2:07:21 - Did the time jumps work?
2:19:37 - Reflections on Season 1 as a whole.

Happy Wine Wednesday, y'all! It's our final episode on She-Hulk - for now - and it's bittersweet. This show has been such a fun time and I will really miss it. However, I can't think of a better way to close out our coverage than being joined by Candi and new guest to the pod - Andre!
As always, we kick off our discussion by touching on the ongoing themes of the season and the exploration of them in the finale and the season as a whole. First, we talk about the "big bads" of the season and the revelation of Todd as the Hulk King. We also revisit the return of Titania and whether or not we wanted to see Josh again after his devastating betrayal.
Next up - cameos! We talk about the chaotic Royal Rumble-like fight when everyone crashes the party like a series of Kool-Aid men. And we give our closing thoughts on Emil's role throughout this season - we definitely had mixed feelings about that.
Much to our delight, Jessica Gao was not done with her exploration of toxic masculinity. We discuss how that's explored in the finale and our thoughts about the writers addressing this issue over the course of Season 1.
We wouldn't leave you without our thoughts on our favorite "at law" moments. Following that, we talk about the general use of the secondary characters in Jennifer's world - we would've been really happy with more Nikki, Pug, and Mallory - here's hoping that they will have more involvement in the future.
The episode closes with our wishlist for Season 2 and Andre survives his very first thirst segment by sharing his hopes for Jennifer's romantic prospects going forward.
We have a brief spoiler segment after our sign off in which I ask Andre and Candi to weigh in on Bruce arriving in the finale with a son.
Thank you so much for joining us for this coverage - I hope you've had as much fun as we have. I love you for listening. Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a really good time.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Our coverage of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law continues this week with a discussion about episodes 7 and 8. As always, we start with recurring themes across the first season and how they are explored in these episode. This includes our thoughts on Emil's role this season, the use of cameos generally, Easter Eggs, and our favorite "at-law" moments. We also revisit our thoughts about Luke's fashion design talents in this episode after seeing She-Hulk's official uniform for the first time and her gala dress. Perhaps Luke isn't a nemesis after all?
We had SO many thoughts about the Daredevil cameo. We loved every second of it and we are fully invested in Matt/Jenn or Daredevil/She-Hulk - we're here for all of it. Jessica Gao and her talented staff of writers are not relenting in their exploration of toxic masculinity and we share our appreciation for that.
As always, we get thirsty with some fun prompts inspired by these episodes. We share with whom from the MCU we would like to have an adversaries to lovers experience like Matt and Jennifer. We enjoyed Matt's walk of shame and share our choices among other MCU characters we wouldn't mind see doing a shoe-less walk of shame from Jennifer's apartment. Our thirsty thoughts conclude with giving Jennifer some well deserved agency and choosing the MCU character with whom we would like to see her consensually create a sex tape. Josh is the worst!
Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a really good time!

Happy Wine Wednesday! We are back with a new episode and a new guest this week. Abbey rejoins me and brings along another amazing person I've met through them - Lauren. Lauren is part-time freelance writer and full-time Marvel nerd based out of New York. We all LOVE Thor, so I was delighted to expand the podcast universe of Thor lovers.
Tipsy warning - I had a margarita cocktail in a bottle this week and it shows!
5:06 - We discuss Love and Thunder's opening and how tonally different it is from Ragnarok.
8:40 - Thoughts on what message - if any - Taika is sending about religion. Particularly in light of the film's opening.
16:03 - Reflections on how Taika's imprint on the Thor-verse. We share favorite comedic moments, the visual aesthetic that is unique to Thor thanks to Taika, was there too much Guns N' Roses, and action sequences
56:31 - Abbey and Lauren share their thoughts on the exploration of grief in Love and Thunder. Did this film make up for the sins of Endgame?
1:25:25 - The Jane of it all. I also go on a bit of a rant about Gorr and my dislike for his origin story.
2:18:07 - Thoughts on whiny dude bros and whether the film is inclusive enough.
2:29:25 - Thirst Segment - MCU Orgy!
Be sure to give our amazing guests support on social media:

Happy Wine Wednesday! Our coverage of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law continues this week with a discussion about episodes 5 and 6. We kick off our discussion with our thoughts on favorite Easter Eggs, best "at law" moments, the lack of cameos in these two episodes, and the use of the secondary characters thus far. The lack of cameos meant more time for Titania, so we chat about whether we like the social media influencer as a nemesis for Jennifer/She-Hulk.
Perhaps Luke Jacobson is the true nemesis of the season because we were not feeling the so-called upgrade of Jennifer's wardrobe. We were also overdue to discuss the show's fun closing credits, so we get into that as well.
We then get into episode specific thoughts. I had a few thoughts about Pug's code switching in episode 5 and episode 6 really left us wanting more wins and less humiliation for Jennifer.
The main discussion wraps with our wishlist for the last 3 episodes of the season. And we close out with a thirst segment inspired by episodes 5 and 6, including our best effort at coming up with a dating app tagline that rivals, "mean, green, and poured into these jeans."

Happy Wine Wednesday! Podcast superstar and entertainment journalist Andy B. joins me this week to discuss one of my favorite shows of all time - Showtime's Shameless. We love this messy Southside Chicago family and Gallavich is unquestionably one of our absolute favorite ships.
00:00:00 - Intro & Jocelyn/Andy Origin Story
00:21:22 - How We Got Into Shameless
00:29:47 - Have we watched the UK version of Shameless?
00:33:29 - We dig into the Shameless pilot.
01:44:59 - A few questions for sh*ts and giggles - some "shameless" character astrology, would you go on a second date with Fiona, ridiculous CGI, and why didn't Lip pick up that darn apple?
02:34:22 - You've been hired to create a Shameless reboot - what does it look like?
02:45:38 - Why you should keep watching Shameless.
02:52:28 - A Shameless inspired thirst segment in which we are shamelessly thirsty!

Happy Wine Wednesday! Our coverage of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law continues this week with a discussion about episodes 3 and 4. Candi and I continue to really love this show. We kick off our chat by talking about themes and stylistic choices that the writers continue to develop in the series. We talk about Jennifer continuing to break the fourth wall, addressing misogyny in Jennifer's life and the fandom, and using cameos of fan faves. We were absolutely delighted about Wong's involvement in these episodes. The show is called She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, so we talk about our favorite "at law" moments as well.
Candi didn't love the randomness of Titania in the show's pilot, so I thought episodes 3 and 4 provided a perfect opportunity for us to check-in on how the writers have been handling Jennifer's foes thus far. We wrap up the main discussion by talking about our wish list for the next few episodes and then we get thirsty. We talk about who we would like to meetup with on the Hollywood Hookup app, which MCU character we'd like to thirst trap like Nikki did Wong, and we revisit some Hulk smashing thoughts as well.
We have a very quick spoiler segment at the end so that Candi can share a few comic book tidbits. Don't worry - you'll have plenty of advance warning.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Matt of The Communies fan account joins me this week to talk about one of my absolute favorite shows and fandoms of all time - Community! Our conversation is part of the podcast's Boozy Beginnings AKA pilot project series in which we discuss the pilot episode of various tv shows.
Matt and I head over to Greendale and kick off our discussion with what drew us to Community, whether we we completed the series, and then the deep dive into the pilot. We start by talking about the pilot's introduction to two of the more memorable characters from the series - Craig Pelton and Greendale Community College. From there, we talk about our initial impressions of Jeff Winger and other memorable introductions to the study group members. We were both struck at how fully realized these characters clearly were from the very start. Y'all know I love a little lighthearted zodiac fun, so I asked Matt to identify his big three signs in the form of Community characters.
Although we were both huge fans of the episode, there were a few minor things we might do differently. Related to that topic, I asked Matt to share what his version of Community would look like if he were in charge of a revival or reboot of the show. No discussion of Community would be complete without talking "Six Seasons and a Movie" - so of course I asked what his Community movie would look like.
The main discussion closes with our thoughts on why you should keep watching, our favorite fandom moments, and we get a little less than wholesome with some fun Community-inspired thirst prompts.
Matt graciously stuck around and discussed overall thoughts about the series in a spoiler segment following the main discussion.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Candi is back this week to kick off our coverage of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
In this episode, we discuss episode 1 and 2 of the series. First Candi and I share our level of engagement with the source material. Candi enlisted some help from some fellow Blerds and I am coming into the series with no prior knowledge of Jennifer Walters.
The first part of our discussion focuses on the pilot - our thoughts on the opening scene, Jennifer's origin story, the casting of Tatiana Maslany in the role, and what worked for us in the introductory episode. We then discuss episode 2 - Superhuman Law - and Jennifer's ongoing tension between returning to her normal life and the call to duty that often comes with superhuman abilities.
We close things out by discussing our wishlist for the rest of the season, whether or not we were distracted by the show's CGI, and then we have a riveting discussion about whether the Hulk can smash in our thirst segment. As mentioned during the thirst segment, check out this article about the Hulk's sexcapades. And support the talented Stephanie Williams - here's her Twitter where you can follow her work.

Happy Wine Wednesday! This week a new guest to the podcast, Jay Giles, joins me on a trip to Eastern Kentucky for the pilot episode of the FX series, Justified.
We kick off the discussion by sharing what drew us to Justified and whether we read the source material written by Elmore Leonard. We then get into a deep dive of the pilot - starting with the very memorable standoff between Raylan Givens and Tommy Bucks. Justified premiered in 2010, which was a much different world in terms of social awareness around police brutality, so Jay and I discuss whether or not this opening standoff between Raylan and Tommy would fly in 2022. Although Raylan was very confident in the justification of his actions towards Tommy, we discuss whether we agreed with him.
Justified has a very memorable, catchy theme song so of course we share our thoughts about it and where it ranks among our favorite tv show theme songs. We also talk about the choice to pair this hip-hop meets bluegrass song with this show featuring modern day cowboy Raylan.
Next, we get share our thoughts on our introductions to Boyd and Ava. Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins were without question the standout performances in the pilot, so we talk about which actor left us wanting to know more about their respective character by the end of the pilot.
We give our elevator pitch as to why you should continue on with Justified if you have not watched the entire series. We also briefly discuss the Justified revival currently in production and whether we plan to watch. Spoiler alert - of course we do! We both loved Justified.
Jay is officially introduced to the podcast thirst segment. He shares his thirsty picks from the pilot and also accepts my challenge to guest cast an actor/actress that he has a crush on that he would like to see in the Justified universe.
There's a brief spoiler discussion in the main discussion. Thanks to podcast editor Daniel, you'll get an alert when that discussion begins and I've flagged it in the chapter markers. The brief spoiler detour begins around 1:02:44 and ends around 108:16 - just in case chapter markers aren't supported wherever you listen. After the main discussion concludes, Jay and I discuss our thoughts on the series as a whole. As always, you'll get a heads up before that discussion begins.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Candi returns this week to discuss The Bob's Burgers's Movie. Bob's Burgers is our favorite comfort show, so we were delighted when it was announced that the Belchers were coming to the big screen.
You know I love discussing which characters we relate to from a show and there was no way I would pass on an opportunity to discuss which Belchers we see in ourselves. We then touch on how the writers manage to acknowledge real life issues, such as the Belchers' financial struggles, while still creating a property that is both comforting and humorous. Next, we get into whether there were any noticeable differences between the Belchers on film versus television.
It wouldn't be Bob's Burgers if there were no musical numbers, so of course we share our favorite selections from the film. Following that, we share our thoughts on the various arcs for each Belcher family member. The secondary characters have become just as memorable as the Belchers, so we talk about which characters outside of the Belcher family we like most. It would be a little weird to share thirsty thoughts about animated characters, so this week's thirst segment has a little twist to it.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Stacey AKA Sticky Keys makes her triumphant return to the podcast this week to discuss the pilot episode of the Paramount reboot of Queer As Folk.
Content Warning: Mass Shooting; Gun Violence
After sharing our respective histories with the Queer As Folk franchise, Stacey and I discuss the writers' choice to pull from the Pulse nightclub tragedy for the series opening. Once we unpack our feelings about that, we then get into the rest of the pilot. We talk about the very bold opening scene and New Orleans as the location for series. We also discuss character introductions and play a game in which Stacey tells me if my character arc predictions are hot or cold. Following that, we get into standout performances, thirsty thoughts, and Stacey shares her thoughts on how this version of Queer As Folk stacks up against its predecessors.

Happy Wine Wednesday! I'm back this week with Abbey and a very new special guest - Marcus - to discuss the delightful rom com, Fire Island.
Our conversation kicks off with our thoughts on one of the things the writers did really well - intimacy. We share our favorite romantically intimate scenes between Noah and Will, along with our favorite platonic intimate moment between Noah and Howie.
We discuss director Andrew Ahn's thoughts on the benefits of having an all queer cast when filming romantically intimate scenes like the beautifully shot rain scene. Next, we get into one of my favorite themes - chosen family. One of the delightful parts of Fire Island is its exploration of chosen family and intimate, but platonic bonds. Marcus and Abbey share their thoughts on how the writers explored variances in the gay experience on Fire Island — a place considered by some as a haven for the LGBTQ+ community — as well as the variances in the kinds of relationships gay people value.
Because Abbey has now joined me to discuss two properties known for featuring full frontal male nudity, I had to ask their thoughts on whether Fire Island could have benefitted from the same. We talk replay value of Fire Island and whether or not we would like a sequel to the film. As always, we close with our thirsty thoughts.
Thanks so much for listening!

Happy Wine Wednesday! I am so happy to welcome Terence B. Johnson back to the podcast this week for another installment of our special series, The Pilot Project. We're heading to the Bay Area to discuss the pilot episode of the HBO's Looking.
We kick off the discussion with our respective Looking origin stories. I examine why this amazing series was not on my radar when it debuted and concluded that it had everything to do with the unfortunate decision to pair the show with Girls. Next, we talk about the decision by the writers to cut to the chase and just drop us right into the action with Paddy and his very awkward foray into cursing. From there, we discuss our initial character impressions from the pilot. This allows for a fun game in which I make predictions about the main characters based on the pilot episode and Terence lets me know if my predictions are right or way off base.
In a world of reboots, we share our thoughts on what our version of Looking what look like in 2022. Returning to the Lena Dunham and Girls of it all, we discuss whether the constant comparison of Looking to Girls by reviewers was fair. We also talking about the timing of Looking and how being set in 2014 informs the pilot's premise. I was surprised to find reviews of the pilot episode that described it as milquetoast - Terence and I talk about why this is wrong and why the understated approach works so well for this pilot.
As always, we discuss standouts from the pilot and end on a thirsty note. It should come as no surprise that the both of these segments focus heavily on Richie. Raúl Castillo is a revelation!
Thanks so much for listening! Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, and we use adult language.

Happy Wine Wednesday! As you'll hear in the intro, this week's episode is one that I've been wanting to do for a very long time. Special guest Candi returns this week to discuss the pilot episode of the messy, messy Fox drama/musical - Empire. We've got the main discussion about the pilot episode and a really fun spoiler segment in which we discuss the top 10 ridiculous Empire moments.
Empire is my current comfort show and having watched the entire series multiple times, unpacking this mess with Candi was like therapy. As for the pilot, we talk about the casting of Cookie and Lucious. Could you see Monique as Cookie or Wesley Snipes as Lucious? We also talk about our impressions of the newcomers to whom we were introduced, including Bryshere Gray, Trai Byers, and Jussie Smollett. If you're looking for commentary about Jussie outside of his role on Empire, you'll have to stick around for the spoiler segment.
You can't talk about Empire without touching on the show's amazing music, so we share our favorite songs from the pilot. We discuss our favorite characters from this introductory episode and share what we liked and what we didn't like overall. In our closing arguments, we share whether or not you should continue with Empire if you've only watched the pilot. And, as always, we get thirsty! Who is so hot you might do a 17-year bid in prison for them?
During the spoiler segment, we talk ridiculous moments, thoughts on the series finale, what Empire got right, and Empire's greatest crime against television writing. We get into the Jussie of it all and remind folks that he wasn't the only one with some off-screen messiness as the series wrapped. Say what you want about Empire, Lee Daniels leveraged his success to attract some serious heavy hitters to the series and we discuss which big name actor appearances we enjoyed. I also stand in my truth about my hatred of musicals, the very limited list of musicals that I actually enjoy, and Candi very kindly reminds me that Empire is in fact a musical show.

Happy Wine Wednesday! I am delighted to have very special guest host Abbey White join me this week to discuss the pilot episode of Minx on Max.
We unpack the pilot, explore what this show set in the 1970s is saying to its audience in 2022, share our thoughts on the standout performances, and of course we get thirsty. No spoiler segment this week because I have not watched the entire first season, but as you'll hear in this week's discussion, I have every intention to continue watching. As always, I LOVE talking to Abbey and we had a fun, tipsy time that included me struggling through a very weird comparison of penises to clean eating.

Happy Wine Wednesday! I'm back this week to discuss the pilot episode of one of my absolute favorite shows of all time - Sons of Anarchy. Very special guest Lauren Sarner joins me to discuss Kurt Sutter's version of Hamlet on motorcycles. Lauren is an entertainment journalist who covers TV at The New York Post.
As always, we kick the discussion off by sharing what drew us to the FX series. Next, we discuss the show's iconic theme song and the very memorable opening credits. We then get into our deep dive of the pilot episode. We talk about the opening sequence in which we are first introduced to Jax Teller and of course we get into our initial impressions of our problematic fave, Gemma Teller Morrow. Katey Sagal deserves so much praise for her portrayal of Gemma. Katey was not the only perfect casting decision on the show. We talk about the original pilot of the show and whether we could imagine a version of the series in which anyone other than Ron Perlman portrays Clay Morrow. We follow our deep dive into the pilot by discussing standout performances and overall thoughts. And as always, we take a few minutes to get thirsty.
Lauren and I both completed the entire series, so the main discussion is followed by a brief spoiler section. Have no fear, you'll get plenty of warning before the spoiler discussion begins. Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, and we use adult language.

Happy Wine Wednesday! We are delighted to return this week to discuss NBC's Grand Crew. It's a no brainer that a podcast where we drink wine and talk about pop culture would cover this amazing show focused on a group of friends who also appreciate the joys of bonding over a good glass of wine. Special guest Candi returns this week to discuss why you should absolutely be watching Grand Crew and why NBC needs to renew this show for several more seasons.
During the main discussion, we talk about the first two episodes of the show. Heads up, we understand that everyone is probably experiencing a lot slap discourse fatigue. The topic organically came up in our discussion about the Grand Crew pilot, which opens up with a discussion about Black men having the space to be layered and complicated. Following that, we talk about everything we liked and didn't like about the first two episodes of Grand Crew. Spoiler alert - the only thing we didn't like was NBC's failure to properly promote this terrific show.
As always, we get into the Qs that need some As. We share the moment from the first two episode in which we truly felt seen by the Grand Crew writers. We also celebrate the ensemble cast and the fun personalities reflected in all of the characters. Of course we had to share which character we related to most. We talk about what separates Grand Crew from other friendship comedies, as well as how the writers have woven contemporary topics into the show without coming off as a regurgitation of Twitter threads.
Regular listeners know that we drink, we know things, we use adult language and we get THIRSTY! The main discussion closes out with the members of the Grand Crew ensemble with whom we'd like to get wine drunk.
For those of you who were wise enough to watch the entire first season of Grand Crew, we have a fun spoiler segment where we talk about the rest of the season.
As always, we love you for listening. Find and follow Candi on Twitter here.

Happy Wine Wednesday! We are back with another installment in our special series, The Pilot Project. Terence Johnson returns this week to discuss the pilot episode of one of our favorite guilty pleasure shows, True Blood.
It turns out that Terence and I had a LOT to say about True Blood, so this week you will get our main discussion on the pilot and next week we will have a bonus spoiler segment in which Terence and I discuss the series as a whole. It's also worth noting that by the end of the first segment, a LOT of wine had been consumed and it shows.
We kick things off by talking about what drew us to the True Blood pilot and whether either one of us read the source material. Of course we talk about the show's theme song and the very memorable opening sequence.
Following that, we get into the Qs that need some As. We discuss the opening sequence and how Alan Ball introduced us to the world of Bon Temps. We also put a modern day lens on True Blood and discuss whether we would be open to dating a vampire and if we would have curiosity about vampire blood. You know we can't discuss a show about supernaturals or superheroes without sharing which special ability we would want.
Of course we get into the Bill and Sookie of it all - their introduction, their chemistry, and the preview into their taboo love that we see in the pilot episode. In honor of Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer meeting and falling in love on the set of True Blood, we discuss some of our favorite couples who met on the set.
We also get into the episode standouts, which of course includes a salute to the very talented Nelsan Ellis (RIP). We then give our final elevator pitch as to why you might want to continue watching True Blood and then things get thirsty!
Thanks so much for listening! Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, and we use adult language.

Happy Wine Wednesday! We are back with a really fun discussion all about Shang-Chi and the Legend of the 10 Rings ("Shang-Chi") with songwriter, YouTuber, and 90s nostalgia junkie, Rod Kim.
In between Jocelyn being extremely thirsty for Simu Liu, we managed to have an in-depth conversation about the film. We share our prior exposure to the source material and touch a little on the Awkwafina of it all. Rod shares the significance of Shang-Chi and FINALLY having a Marvel film starring an Asian lead. We then shared the sh*t we loved about the film and the sh*t we didn't love about the film. Spoiler alert - there is VERY little that we did not love about Shang-Chi. Rod provides thoughtful, necessary insight on the importance of Shang-Chi telling the story from a very unique Asian-American perspective.
Next up, we get into the Qs that needed some As. This includes our thoughts on the use of non-linear storytelling, a complete love fest for the amazing action sequences, and we explore whether Katey's heavy involvement in the film made sense. Shang-Chi is yet another entry into the MCU that highlights complicated family issues, so we discuss where the film lands among our favorite family ties caught on screen. We'd be remiss if we didn't touch on parallels between Shang-Chi and Black Panther, given that both films broke significant ground in being lead by a person of color. Both films also inserted a random White dude into the story, so we walk about Everett Ross and Trevor Slattery and whether their inclusion into these films made sense.
Thanks to Shang-Chi, we have another amazing entry into the Marvel universe of superhero uniforms. We swoon over Shang-Chi's costume and talk about our other favorite MCU costumes. We then shift gears to talk about the film's MVPs and explore the replay value of Shang-Chi. Is this a film that is relegated to a Marvel marathon or is it one that you'd actually play when you're looking for something good to watch?
We close out the main discussion by introducing Rod to his very first thirst segment. Following our sign-off, we have a quick discussion about the mid-credit and post-credit scenes.
Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, and we use adult language.

Happy Wine Wednesday! We are leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe and heading to Palmetto, Florida for another installment of our special pilot project series. Special guest Candi joins us to discuss the pilot episode of TNT's Claws.
Our discussion kicks off with the Candi/Jocelyn origin story, which began thanks to Twitter and the ill-fated Universal Fan Con. We then get into the main discussion and share how we became acquainted with the TNT dark comedy, Claws. We share the sh*t we liked about the pilot and call out a few questionable writing decisions that we did not like in an otherwise solid episode.
As always, we get into the Qs that need some As, which includes an examination of some very questionable decisions by Roller. We discuss nail shop rituals, whether Virginia can be trusted, and the fun fashions worn by the ladies.
Claws is a cast of heavy hitters, so of course we shared our thoughts on the performances that grabbed our attention in the pilot. And no episode of I'ma Need More Wine would be complete without getting a little thirsty. We had lots of thoughts on who from the cast we would like to dig our claws into during some sexy time.
As always, we love you for listening. Find and follow Candi on Twitter here.

Happy Wine Wednesday! We are back with special guest Abbey M. White with the conclusion of our discussion on Marvel's Eternals. The episode picks up with the remainder of our thoughts on our favorite small group pairings in the film. Next, we talk about the impressively diverse cast and whether Eternals manages to be equitable and inclusive, rather than just having diversity for the sake of diversity.
With a slate of fun and exciting super powers on display in Eternals, we could not resist talking about which power we would like to have and why. Of course we would be remiss if we did not discuss the criticism of Eternals. In particular, we explore the film's use of non-linear storytelling and whether or not it was effective.
The MCU is known for its action sequences and there are some really notable fights in Eternals. We talk about how Eternals manages to fit within the Marvel algorithm while still being unique in some aspects when it came to featuring battles and conflicts. You know what was outside the Marvel algorithm? Our heroes having sex! You know we had to discuss that.
We dabble a bit into the mid and post credit scenes and share our thoughts on whether or not we are really done with Ikaris. We then share our MVPs and discuss whether or not the use of big Hollywood names was a blessing or a curse with respect to audience and critic expectations.
Of course no episode of I'ma Need More Wine would be complete without things getting a little thirsty. The discussion concludes with us discussing which actors from the film make our heart skip a beat so much that we're hoping the Eternals can buy us more time with them by stopping the Emergence.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Special guest Abbey M. White joins us this week to talk about Marvel's Eternals.
When Abbey says they want to talk about a movie, you give them a platform! Abbey takes us to church this week with their takes on the genius of Chloé Zhao and her very thoughtful, deliberate approach to creating Eternals.
It should come as no surprise that our thoughts on Eternals exceeded the run time of the film, so we broke the episode into two parts. In this week's installment, we kick off the discussion by sharing our overall thoughts on the film. The list of sh*t we liked about Eternals was much longer than the sh*t we didn't like or know how to feel about. An early death in the film had Jocelyn hitting the Google to confirm whether the concept of "eternal" also means immortal.
Next, we talk about balance. Eternals has a very large and undeniably talented cast, so we discuss the balance across those characters and whether there were aspects of an individual's storyline that left something to be desired. Following that, we discuss the small group pairings in the film. The title of this episode should clue you in on one of our favorite pairings. We also talk about smaller groups/pairings that we would have liked to see more of, like Gilgamesh and life. No conversation about Eternals would be complete without discussing our thoughts on whether or not the film hit the mark on diversity and inclusion given the very diverse cast and the diverse backgrounds of the characters. There is a quick preview of our thirsty thoughts segment and we close the first part of the discussion by sharing the characters that we are eternally done with thanks to their actions in the film.
Part 2 will come out next Wine Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Stacey AKA Sticky Keys of the Beacon Hills After Dark podcast is back this week and you know what that means - MESS! What kind of mess? The pilot episode of ABC's Big Sky.
We kick off our discussion by sharing our respective Big Sky "origin stories." Stacey is all in and up to date on Big Sky and Jocelyn is a newbie. Next, we talk about the sh*t we liked and the sh*t we didn't like about the pilot.
As always, we had some Qs about the pilot that needed some As. For example, why in the world was Merilee serving her husband cold, bland, oversized, pieces of bread for dinner? We also unpack whatever "menopause talk" is and explore whether Big Sky is meant to be creepy, campy, or both.
Of course we talk about the jaw dropping moment at the end of the pilot and get a wee bit messy as we unpack the irony of Ryan Phillippe portraying a character in a mess romantic "entanglement."
We close the spoiler-free segment out with our final verdicts on Big Sky and our thirsty picks from the pilot episode. There is a brief spoiler section at the very end - don't worry, we give you lots of notice.

Happy Wine Wednesday! We are back from the holiday break with an all new installment in our special series, The Pilot Project. Very special guest and friend to the podcast Abbey White from The Hollywood Reporter joins us again to discuss the pilot episode of the critically acclaimed HBO series, Euphoria.
We kick things off by sharing our respective experiences with the series. Abbey is a regular watcher while Jocelyn is a newbie. Next, we discuss the sh*t we liked and the sh*t we did not like about the pilot episode. The Euphoria writers are telling two different stories - one focused on teens navigating life and the other story that feels intended to scare the crap out of those of us in the audience who are far removed from our teen years. The pilot was at its best when it focused on world building and laying out the challenges that the teens will grapple with as the series develops.
As always, we had some Qs that needed some As. We had a lot of questions about teen boys hanging out with no shirts on. Seriously, is that a thing? We also discussed meaningful choices made in the pilot from the decision to make Rue's mother Black, the use of lighting and coloring, and musical selections.
As a regular watcher of Grey's Anatomy, Jocelyn had a lot of thoughts about the surprising appearance of Eric Dane AKA McSteamy in the Euphoria pilot. We talk about that and other unexpected twists from the pilot.
We would never leave you without a thirst segment, but we did things a little differently this week. Given that there are very few adult characters in the pilot, we went in a different direction and shared a few things/people that make us euphoric.
For those who are all caught up on Euphoria or not afraid to know what happens after the pilot, we have a fun spoiler segment. Worry not, spoilerphobes - you'll have lots of warning before that segment.

Happy Wine Wednesday! We are back with special guest Maddie this week for a discussion of the pilot episode of the critically acclaimed series, Orphan Black.
We kick off the discussion with our Orphan Black "origin stories" in which we share when we started watching the series and what drew us to it. We then move on to our overall thoughts of the pilot episode. Unsurprisingly, there was very little we disliked about it.
Next, we do a deep dive into the plot and discuss some Qs that need some As. What would you do if you saw a woman standing on a subway platform taking off her shoes and putting down her purse? What level of freaked out would you be if you bumped into a stranger who had your exact same face? After you come across your doppelgänger, do you let it go or do you pursue more information? We also unpack the many layers of Sarah's desperation and share our respective thoughts on the point at which she may have gone a little too far in her efforts to claim the money Beth left behind.
No discussion about Orphan Black would be complete without praising the immensely talented Tatiana Maslany. We also give our best elevator pitch as to why you should keep watching Orphan Black if you have not already watched the series and then things get a little thirsty.
The episode closes with a spoiler segment. Fear not - you will have lots of warning if you want to avoid them until you watch the series.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Stacey AKA Sticky Keys of the Beacon Hills After Dark Podcast returns again this week to join us for the fourth installment of our Pilot Project series. We gave our version of guest's rights to Stacey and let her pick the pilot. Stacey went with the former NBC, now Netflix series - Manifest. Grab your wine and boarding pass as we discuss all things related to Flight 828. One of the passengers on this podcast flight may have had one drink too many, so consider yourself warned.
Stacey gets us started by sharing why she likes Manifest. We then share what we liked and what we didn't like about the pilot episode. Next, we get into the Qs that needed some As. Do people really clap at the end of flights? Are Michaela and Ben the only ones who hear voices? If you found out you lost five years of your life on a flight, what's your priority as you try to return to normal?
As always, we discuss standout performances, the actors that quenched our thirst, and we have a brief spoiler segment at the end.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Stacey AKA Sticky Keys of the Beacon Hills After Dark Podcast joins us this week for the third installment of our special series - The Pilot Project. Halloween might be over, but we are still in a spooky ooky mood, so we are heading over to Beacon Hills, California to discuss the pilot episode of Teen Wolf.
As you can imagine, we had a lot of fun at the expense of Jeff Davis, so we started the episode by saying something nice about Teen Wolf before the dragging commenced. We then talk about what drew us to the series and share our overall thoughts on the pilot.
Next up, Jocelyn had some Qs that were in serious need of some As. For example, were Scott and Stiles too old to be playing the "wanna see a dead body" game? Just how quickly does Tyler Hoechlin go from clean shaven to 5 o'clock shadow? Speaking of Hoechlin, what was the deal with Derek just appearing out of thin air? And how adorable was Stiles in his suit and tie for a basic high school house party?
Following that, we demand justice for Harley and have fun reflecting on some of the behind the scenes insights revealed in Entertainment Weekly's oral history of Teen Wolf, which you can find here.
The spoiler-free part of the episode closes with a riveting thirst discussion. We talk about the objects of our thirst from the show and ponder what sex with a werewolf would be like. Stacey teaches Jocelyn the meaning of refractory period and we share which spooky ooky supernaturals are at the top of our thirst list.
For those who stick around for the spoiler section, we chat best villains, toughest departures, unintentionally hilarious moments, and character arcs.

Happy Wine Wednesday! We are leaving the zombie apocalypse in Georgia and heading to northern New Jersey to explore the groundbreaking pilot episode of the HBO series, The Sopranos. Grab your wine, your gabagool, and join us for our second installment of our special series - The Pilot Project!
As always, we kick things off with what we liked and did not like about the pilot. There are very few weak spots in the episode, but Kristine had a few issues with some of the acting. Jocelyn took issue with some of the less than subtle moments in a pilot episode that was otherwise strong at subtlety. No conversation about The Sopranos would be complete without unpacking the opening credits and praising the very memorable theme song "Woke Up This Morning" by the Alabama 3.
Next up, we unpack all of the tension - sexual or otherwise - between Tony and Dr. Melfi. With Kristine being a newbie to the series, it was fun to have her dabble in a bit of wild speculation about how Tony's mafia colleagues will react once they find out that the guy who appears poised to take over the family has started therapy. We also get into all of the family dynamics featured in the pilot - Tony/Uncle Junior, Tony/Livia, and Tony/Carmella. We also explore the Tony Soprano we see in reality versus the image of Tony that he wants Dr. Melfi to believe. The man is no Gary Cooper!
We talk about the standout performances and Kristine shares whether or not the pilot left her wanting more of the Soprano family. We then dabble a little in thirsty thoughts and close out with a spoiler section. No need to worry, you'll get a heads up before Jocelyn shares key plot points from the rest of the series.
Be sure to check out our first installment of The Pilot Project in which we discussed the pilot episode of The Walking Dead - "Days Gone Bye."

Don't want to hear us shoot the shit? Skip ahead to the 18:14 mark for the start of our discussion on The Walking Dead.
Happy Wine Wednesday! We are back with something new this week - The Pilot Project. The Pilot Project is a special series of episodes in the same vein of our Does It Hold Up series. In the Pilot Project, we will watch and discuss the pilot episodes of a variety of shows from the wildly popular to the cult classics. We are kicking off the series this week with the critically acclaimed pilot episode of The Walking Dead entitled - "Days Gone Bye."
This episode was lots of fun to record because Kristine is a newbie to the franchise and Jocelyn is 9 seasons in on The Walking Dead's zombie shenanigans. Before we get into Days Gone Bye, we shoot the shit a bit. Kristine asks Jocelyn about her recent attempts to date in the times of COVID. We also pay our respects to brilliance of Michael K. Williams.
From there we head to Georgia and join Rick Grimes on his journey into the zombie apocalypse. We share our overall thoughts on the episode and explore whether the pilot lives up to its reputation as being a master class in horror television. We talk about the brilliant use of silence in the pilot and the genius of Greg Nicotero's work on creating the zombies. Kristine enjoyed the pilot, but she isn't quite ready to become a horror fan and she had a lot of questions about Rick's decision making. We share what we liked about the pilot overall, as well as the sh*t we did not like. Duane and Carl are undoubtedly precious, but the performances from the child actors behind these characters left a little to be desired.
Next, we get into the pilot and explore the decisions made by the characters. Would you have taken in Rick Grimes? If you were Rick Grimes would you have taken so long to put on clothes around Morgan and Duane? How about Rick's choice to put on his work uniform instead of regular clothes? We had lots of thoughts on all of these questions. We also talk about Lori moving on after assuming Rick died and making the choice to do so with Shane.
We're talking about the zombie apocalypse so of course we had to get into our own personal escape plans. Kristine will be staying with friends while Jocelyn heads out to the family farm. We also talk zombie apocalypse weapons and Jocelyn urges Kristine to rethink her initial choice of weapon. We then discuss the challenges of dealing with loved ones while trying to survive and whether we would be able to make the hard choice to "put down" our reanimated loved ones.
We then shift to our thirst segment, which was a little light this week given the lack of actual live characters in the episode. We do a quick round of marry, f*ck, kill and then discuss the complications of sex during the zombie apocalypse.
The episode closes out with a spoiler segment in which Jocelyn gives Kristine a complete rundown on what happens with the characters we were introduced to in Days Gone Bye. We give lots of notice of the spoiler segment in case you want to avoid them.

We are back and we are burdened with glorious purpose!
This week we are discussing all things Loki. After explaining our hiatus, we jump right into a discussion of the Disney Plus series. The conversation kicks off with our overall thoughts - we cover what we liked, what we did not like, and explore whether the Loki series delivered on the wish list we discussed in our Thor-verse episode, which you can find here.
Next, we get into our favorite Loki moments, discuss our favorite trickster's story arc, and speculate about Loki's future. No conversation about the Loki series would be complete without discussing all of the various Lokis we've met thus far. We talk all things Sylvie and unpack her relationship with Loki. We also share our picks on the superior Loki, as well as which Loki was our fave.
We get into some speculation about Kang and the significance of the multiverse. The episode wraps with the thirst segment. We had a lot of thoughts and feelings about Loki in bondage gear and Kang devouring apples.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Award winning journalist Abbey White is back this week to bid a fond farewell to the FX series Pose. We kick things off with our thoughts on the unexpected announcement that the series was coming to an end. We then share our overall impressions of the final season. We loved ALL things Elektra, but did not love some of the pacing issues created by the reduction of episodes.
Series co-creator Steven Canals said that in mapping the final season out, the writers looked back to the dreams of the main characters identified in season 1 and essentially set out to make those dreams come true in the final season. With that in mind, we walk through the final chapter in each character's arc and share our thoughts on where they ultimately landed.
Next, we discuss our favorite episodes and musical cues. We also share our MVPs of the series. No discussion of Pose would be complete without discussing our thoughts on Pose's chances for long overdue awards season recognition and why the few nominations the show gets seem to all go to Billy Porter.
The episode closes with our thoughts on Pose's legacy and the actors who made us thirsty.

Special guest Samantha Adolfo joins us this week to discuss one of our favorite himbos - Thor Odinson. With the Loki series on Disney Plus set to premiere soon, we thought it was a perfect time to talk all things Asgard.
We kick things off with sharing our love for the Thor films and explain why people who only love Thor: Ragnarok are just wrong. We then poke fun at Mark Graham and his 2009 Vulture article in which he questions the casting of Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston as Thor and Loki. We cannot imagine anyone else in these roles! Somehow the discussion takes a brief thirst detour in which Jocelyn very passionately defends the sex appeal of Tom Hiddleston and shares some sage advice she received many years ago that hasn't let her down to date. Jocelyn also defends sexy men with chicken legs. Apologies for the Chris mixup - Jocelyn was upset about people teasing Chris Hemsworth for having chicken legs - not Chris Evans. *insert infinite face palm*
Next, we get into our thoughts about the Thor films. We discuss how the first Thor film stacks up against the other origin films, as well as how Thor: The Dark World does not quite hold up when compared to the second films of Thor's fellow Avengers. We close out the discussion of the films with Thor: Ragnarok and declare an official enemy of the pod. Listen to hear how a Vox writer ended up with this unfortunate distinction.
We then get into all of our feelings about Thor's character arc. Sam perfectly explains why the God of Thunder is also the God of our hearts. It should come as no surprise that we had a LOT of thoughts about how the Marvel writers handled Thor's grief in Endgame. No discussion about the Thor films would be complete without discussing our favorite trickster. Loki has not had much character development thus far, so we hope that his Disney Plus series will change that. We also chat about our wish list for Thor: Love and Thunder. Spoiler alert - one of us is really not feeling Natalie Portman or her portrayal of Jane Foster.
The episode closes out with a really fun thirst segment. We learn just how perfectly meshed we are as friends when we share the objects of our thirst from the Thor-verse. Also, low-rise jeans are a devil, unless they are on the body of a god! And move over America's Ass, we declare the ass of the UNIVERSE in this episode. We also play a fun rapid fire game in which Jocelyn shares the name of a character from the Thor-verse and Sam and Kristine determine whether they are worthy.
After you're done listening, enjoy this montage of Tom Hiddleston dancing. Snake hips for the win! And enjoy Chris Hemsworth taking a playful jab at those who questioned his casting.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Our discussion of the Disney Plus series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier concludes this week.
Our conversation picks up with our favorite Sam and Bucky moments. We then talk about Bucky's arc and how happy we were to see him in therapy - although we would've loved to see even more of it. Next, we discuss the Wakanda of it all. We share our thoughts on the presence of the Dora Milaje in the series and unpack the social media discourse regarding the same.
We then move on to John Walker and the writers' choice to surround him in so much Blackness - whether it was his best friend, his alma mater, or his wife. It was clearly intentional and we had thoughts about it. No discussion of problematic figures in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier would be complete without touching on Baron Zemo. We do not count ourselves among the Zemo hive, but he did raise some interesting points about Captain America, the shield, and supremacy that warranted discussion. We also share our disappointment in how the writers shortchanged Karli and the FlagSmashers.
We close out the discussion with an extended thirst segment. Of course we discuss the chemistry between Bucky and Sarah and the perfect name for the ship. We then shift our focus exclusively to Bucky and conclude after much deliberation that he is a power bottom. Finally, we swoon over the objects of our thirst from the series. Find out which one of us wants to be Bucky's key holder. We had a lot of fun introducing Abbey to our tradition of thirst!

Happy Wine Wednesday! Journalist and friend of the pod Abbey White joins us this week to discuss The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. We had a lot of thoughts about the show. In fact, we had so many thoughts that this will be a two-part discussion. We kick things off with our overall thoughts, including our love for the slice of life moments and the amazing chemistry between Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan. That said, the show left us wanting way more nuance on the complicated subjects it explored.
We then discuss the complicated legacy of Captain America and explore the shortcomings of Steve Rogers as a friend to Sam, Bucky, and Sharon. We also discuss someone else who once held the Captain America title (in the comics) - Isaiah Bradley. We unpack Isaiah's statement to Sam that no self respecting Black man would ever want to be Captain America and Sam's decision to take on the title. The first half of the discussion closes with our thoughts on whether the writers did a good job of portraying how complicated and heavy a choice it was for Sam to become Captain America.
Join us next week for the conclusion of our discussion, which includes our favorite Sam and Bucky moments and the Dora Milaje/John Walker social media discourse. Abbey is introduced to her first thirst segment and doesn't disappoint!

Pour a glass of your favorite wine and summon all of your charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent - we're talking all things RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13. We discuss overall thoughts on the season, including the "Porkchop" twist, the length of the season, and the COVID adjustments. How long did it take you to realize there was no pit crew for several episodes?
We then discuss werk room entrances and who wowed us from the start. Symone took our breath away with her beauty and unapologetic Blackness. Kandy gave Kristine nostalgic feelings for the Bronx. And we were all in on GottMik's entrance line - down with the cis-tem!
Kristine shares her thoughts on seeing her first reading challenge and we talk about the standout performances of GottMik and Symone in the Snatch Game. We discuss the queens who ruled the runway and whether there were any queens who we felt left the competition too soon.
Next up - we get into the reunion and the finale. We celebrate the top 4 and toast our new reigning queen - the ICONIC Symone.
It wouldn't be us if we didn't get thirsty. We share our Season 13 crushes and manage to work in a conversation about Wham! and Kathleen Turner.

Happy Wine Wednesday! Kristine and our very special guest, Marc Faletti, hold Jocelyn accountable for her questionable Marvel Cinematic Universe viewing choices. After Jocelyn explains her poor life choices, we dive into the Ant-Man films starring the delightful Paul Rudd.
The discussion kicks off with Marc and Kristine sharing what drew them to the Ant-Man films. Next, we discuss the MVPs of the Ant-Man films. It should come as no surprise that we are here for all things Cassie Lang. We then discuss the very complicated character, Hank Pym. Is he a hero or a menace?
No discussion of a Marvel film would be complete without identifying our favorite Easter Eggs. We also touch on our favorite Paul Rudd moments, our hopes for the future of the Ant-Man franchise, and the objects of our thirst. Do Ant-Man and the Wasp have chemistry? Listen and find out!

More Wine Pod listeners, assemble! Grab your wine and join us this week as we revisit Avengers: Age of Ultron. It's no question that the film is a pivotal part of the MCU, particularly in light of Infinity War, Endgame, and WandaVision, so we thought it was time to rewatch the film with the benefit of hindsight, which as some say, is 20/20 "vision." Sorry - we couldn't resist.
We kick off the discussion by sharing when we first saw Age of Ultron and our initial impressions of the film. We loved seeing the Avengers working together like a well oiled machine and getting a boost from Nick Fury when they needed it. We praised Tony Stark's mastery of sarcasm and James Spader's casting as the snarky voice of Ultron. We also managed to work in some interesting revelations about crying in the movies and the consequences of telling Kristine that she's just like her mom. As for the sh*t we didn't like, we are very relieved that Nat and Bruce never ended up together.
Next, we talk about how Infinity War and Endgame influenced our hindsight views of Age of Ultron. The film is an important bridge in the MCU, particularly with respect to Civil War and Infinity War/Endgame. Likewise, Age of Ultron is important to understanding Wanda Maximoff's character journey, so we discuss our hindsight impressions of Age of Ultron in the context of the events that took place in WandaVision. We also begrudgingly acknowledge how important Clint Barton is to multiple character arcs that ultimately play out in Endgame and WandaVision and work in a little bit of Barton bashing just to balance things out.
We close out the discussion by sharing our favorite Easter eggs from Age of Ultron and explore what we would change now that we have the benefit of hindsight. It wouldn't be an episode of I'ma Need More Wine without a discussion about the Avengers who quenched our thirst. Find out who we want to join us in the pool AKA Thor's Water of Sights.

Happy Wine Wednesday! We are back with the second edition of our "Does It Hold Up" series in which we explore classic movies from the past and discuss whether or not they hold up under a modern lens. In this episode, we discuss Coming to America - the original - not to be confused with the sequel. We take a trip down memory lane and discuss what we loved about the hilarious Eddie Murphy film. We also examine what themes from the film still ring true today. Unfortunately, dating has not improved since the film premiered in 1988. We also revisit our discussion on the sequel in the context of watching the original film. Finally, we render our ruling - does Coming to America still hold up? Listen and find out!

Pack your bags and grab your passport - we're going to Zamunda! In this week's episode we discuss Coming 2 America, which may have more appropriately been named Coming to Zamunda. We kick off with our overall reactions. We then break down our thoughts about the things we liked, the things we didn't know how to feel about, and the things we didn't like about the film.
Next, we discuss the new casting additions to the film. We loved Wesley Snipes chewing up scenes as General Izzi. We speculate about what the sequel would look like with Ryan Cooler at the helm, which leads to a very passionate plea from Jocelyn for fan casters to broaden their horizons when developing dream casts for movies.
We salute the film's MVPs - Leslie Jones was a standout and the image of her wafting her "special scent" over a pumpkin spice candle will remain with us forever. It was no surprise the the costumes were immaculate thanks to Ruth E. Carter. With the exception of a questionable wig on Jermaine Fowler early in the film, we LOVED the work of hair department co-heads Carla Farmer and Stacey Morris.
It wouldn't be us if we didn't get thirsty, so of course we discuss our crushes from the Coming 2 America cast. We close out by discussing whether we would be up for more movies featuring Zamunda's royal family.
Join us next time as we revisit Coming to America (the original) and examine whether the film still holds up. If you're an Eddie Murphy fan, you can also check out our past episodes on Trading Places and Dolemite Is My Name.

Happy Wine Wednesday! We are back and introducing our special series, Does It Hold Up. In this series, we will occasionally watch a classic film from the past and examine whether or not it still holds up today. Up first, the 1983 hit Trading Places, starring Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd. The film is undoubtedly funny and features a stellar cast, but also has its problems with blackface and gratuitous use of offensive language that definitely wouldn't fly in 2020.
As always, we kick off with our drinking selections for the week. We also raise our glasses and salute our lovely listeners in Los Angeles, California. Thank you for your support. Before getting into our topic of the week, we talk all things Animal Crossing. Kristine has joined the game and she is hooked on the Nook!
Next, we get into the topic of the week - Trading Places. We start with our overall reactions to the film and then unpack its problematic parts. We also talk about the parts of the film that still ring true today, get into the Philadelphia of it all, and ponder what a modern version of the film might look like. We then close out with our final verdict - is Trading Places timeless or is time up for the film? Listen to find out where we landed.

Happy Wine Wednesday! We are saluting our favorite fictional wine mom, Linda Belcher.
As always, we kick off the episode with our drinking selections and listener toast. We raised our glasses this week to our lovely listeners in Adelaide, South Australia. Kristine is digging ESPN Ocho and Jocelyn was excited about Digital Drag Con - links to both below. Over in the Corona Corner, we recommended virtual game nights via Jackbox and streaming Community on Netflix to spark a little joy while you stay at home.
In honor of Mother's Day, we share our favorite fictional moms. Next, we move on to our topic of the week - the LEGENDARY Linda Belcher.
Kristine is a newbie to Bob's Burgers, so we started with our overall reactions to the show. We are happy to report that she loved it! Using our watchlist as a guide, we talk about Linda as a mom, a wife, and a character generally. Indeed, Linda is a longtime member of #TeamTooMuch, but she's so endearing. How can you not like a character who loves her wine and follows the life of a raccoon she named Little King Trashmouth?
Although it's an episode all about Linda, we work in a little bonus discussion of the other Belchers we love and share our favorite songs from the watchlist.

Happy Wine Wednesday! We are delighted to be joined this week by award-winning writer and producer, Rob Maylor. Rob is a writer on the award-winning film Sprinter, which we discuss this week. We are so lucky to have him!
As always, we kick things off with a few things we liked and some Rona Recs. Rob dropped some exciting news about the availability of Sprinter on Netflix in Canada and the Caribbean. We also saluted the unforgettable Verzuz battle between Babyface and Teddy Riley. We raised our glasses and gave our heartfelt thanks to our lovely listeners in Philadelphia. Long live Comrade Gritty!
Next, we get into our topic of the week - Sprinter! Sprinter is a heartfelt, wonderfully written film that provides invaluable insight into the ways in which immigration impacts families. Rob shares lots of wonderful insights, including his inspiration for the film and favorite scene to write. We also talk about the powerful portrayal of West Indian culture, as well as the brilliant use of Jamaica as a beautiful backdrop to the story. We celebrate the film for bucking tired tropes of plots driven by Black pain and death. We also get into memorable characters, such as Kerry and Germaine and close it out with a bit of thirst. It's a really fun time and we are so grateful to Rob for joining us.

Grab your wine, sharpen your knives, and get ready for a WILD ride! We invited a special guest, put on our best sweaters, and talked about all things Knives Out . . . or did we? This is allegedly a discussion about Knives Out, but we also managed to work in ben wa balls, pegging, the hottest Chris, and a lot about the actual film.
Intro - 15:16: Meet Our Guest
Meet our special guest - award winning producer and director, Terence Johnson. We share how we became acquainted with Terence, chat about our drink selections, and toast our lovely listeners in England.
15:17 - Sh*t We Liked/Rona Recs
As for sh*t we liked, Terence is excited about new music releases from Fiona Apple and Da Baby. Kristine is still feeling the love for her favorite look queen, Nicky Doll. Animal Crossing is now Jocelyn's happy place.
37:24 - The Knives Are Out
We kick off our discussion with our overall thoughts about the movie. Spoiler alert - we loved it! We also discuss the ending and whether we saw it coming.
1:08:33 - Entitlement And Privilege
The Thrombeys are PEAK entitlement and privilege. We talk about the "White nonsense" of it all and share our thoughts on how Rian Johnson tackled entitlement and xenophobia in the film. Terence and Kristine disown Jocelyn after she goes on a bit of a rant about a beloved, but sometimes misguided actor.
2:03:28 - Worst Thrombey
There are many contenders! We somehow manage to whittle it down to one choice each, but they are ALL awful.
2:11:16 - Ben Wa Balls
We talk about Daniel Craig's accent as Benoit Blanc. Was it necessary? You'll have to listen to find out! Heads up, Jocelyn cannot manage to talk about Benoit Blanc without calling him Ben Wa Balls.
2:18:212 - Favorite Lewks
The sweaters on Chris Evans are perfectly fine, but we had some other favorite fashion choices from the film. Kristine also learned that when you ask your fellow podcasters for their favorite Captain America outfit, they come prepared to discuss their Captain America outfit! Enjoy our very lengthy, very thirsty tangent!
3:12:46 - Thirst Traps
We share our thirsty thoughts about the cast. Terence questions whether Jocelyn has praying family members based on her thirst choices.
3:23:41 - Final Thoughts
The discussion wraps us with our thoughts on what a sequel to Knives Out would look like. We also do some fun guest casting about our dream film in which Benoit Blanc investigates a murder in a Black family.

Welcome back, squirrel friends! Our deep dive into Season 12 of RuPaul's Drag Race continues.
01:41 Snatch Game!
We continue our journey through Drag Race herstory by discussing memorable past performances by Bianca Del Rio (Season 6) and Tatianna (Season 2). Jocelyn extends her deepest apologies for having a complete brain fart and forgetting that Bob the Drag Queen knocked it out of the park in Season 8 as both Uzo Aduba and Carol Channing. We then get into the Season 12 performances. As longtime fans of the Housewives franchise, we really enjoyed Jackie Cox as Lisa Rinna. Heidi was also lots of fun as Leslie Jones.
38:28 Madonna Rusical!
Thanks to Jocelyn's mic snafu, we were able to watch the Rusical episode before recording the second half of our discussion. We are happy to report that Kristine, the Drag Race newbie, enjoyed her very first Rusical. We both agreed that it felt a bit long at times, but the episode was entertaining nonetheless. We took exception to Jaida not being in the Top 3. We were happy to see her work through the nerves and serve up a sexy performance. We saluted the the return of Jamal Sims and share our thoughts on the night of 1,000 Michelle Visages theme.
1:18:30 LEWKS!!!
Kristine is loving the fashions this seasons, so it should come as no surprise that she had more than one favorite look to share. Jocelyn can NEVER settle on one pick, so she had multiple favorite looks too. One thing is clear, Gigi and Jaida are SERVING this season and we are loving every second of it.
1:37:07 Best Lip Sync for Your Life
It's Drag Race, so of course we discuss the Lip Sync for Your Life face-offs. As of the Rusical, we were still waiting for the performance that knocked our socks off, but the potential is clearly there. We're keeping an eye on The Widow Von'Du. We don't want to see her in the bottom, but there is no question that she is a lip sync assassin in the making. We also chat about some past memorable lip syncs from the show.
1:46:02 Top Contenders and Season 12 Favorites
We get into our top contenders as of the Rusical episode. Gigi Goode is emerging as the queen to beat. We are a little frustrated that Jaida does not get more love from the judges. She should be a clear frontrunner, but the show seems to suggest otherwise based on her placement in challenges. And then there are the queens we love and don't want to see leave - Heidi and The Widow. We also talk about which eliminated queen we'd like to see return.
2:13:33 Narrator of the Season
Each season, a few queens shine in their confessional interviews and give life to all of the drama and competition. The Widow Von'Du is one of the funniest narrators to emerge on the show in a long time and we cannot imagine what an episode would be like without her wit and shade. Not to be outdone, Heidi has also proven to be a force in the confessionals and we would truly miss her voice if she was eliminated.
02:21:04 Thirsty Thoughts
You know we would not close out an episode without talking about the contestants who trigger our thirstiest thoughts.

7:45 - What We Liked This Week and the Corona Corner
After we share what we're drinking and toast our lovely listeners in Chicago, we share what we like this week. Kristine is excited about the return of two of her favorite guilty pleasures - Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Real Housewives of New York.
26:37 - Our Drag Experiences
We travel down memory lane to the times when we were still allowed to go outside and reminisce on some of our favorite live drag performances.
43:00 - Styles of Drag
New to drag? We've got you covered with this brief, although not exhaustive, primer on drag styles - particularly those seen on Drag Race.
50:31 - The Highs and Lows of RuPaul’s Drag Race
We love Drag Race, but not so much that we cannot recognize where the show falls short. We would love to see more trans contestants on the show and to see RuPaul take a more proactive approach to addressing the social media harassment faced by Black contestants.
1:37:00 - First Impressions of Season 12
Widow had us at hello. Gigi wowed us with her fashion sense, especially her keen sense of fit and shape. We've loved Jaida since the promo pics dropped. Her Werk Room entrance did not disappoint.
1:56:11 - Favorite Mini and Maxi Challenges
We rave about beehive jiving and runway showdowns. As for maxi challenges, World's Worst was a delightful love letter to Drag Race fans.
2:21:55 - Favorite Mirror Moment
If your cup is empty, you might want to grab a refill and the tissues as we get all into our feels thanks to Jackie Cox, Widow Von Du, and Rock M. Sakura.
3:02:45 - Favorite Guest Judge and Outro
Nicki Minaj and Thandie Newton gave thoughtful feedback and got our vote for best guest judges. We also enjoyed watching Leslie Jones fulfill her Drag Race fantasy after bringing us so much joy with her live tweets.

2:16 - Listener Toast
We missed our lovely listeners! Check out our new segment in which we raise our glasses and toast our listeners for their support.
8:15 - Where ya’ll been?
We explain where the f*ck we’ve been during our hiatus.
23:33 - Sh*t we liked and sh*t we didn’t like.
We get into the sh*t we liked - socialist airlines are great! As for the sh*t we didn’t like, racism and xenophobia are NEVER acceptable - not even during a pandemic. Be kind, wash your hands, and stay the f*ck at home!
42:28 - Corona Corner
We started a new segment in which we will be making a few “Rona recs” to lift your spirits. Kristine had a ball taking a virtual dance class with Debbie Allen. Jocelyn is all about D-Nice’s Club Quarantine on Instagram.
54:03 - Dolemite Is My Name
Dolemite Is My Name is a fun, delightful film and was the perfect choice for our return from hiatus. We begin by discussing our general experience with Blaxploitation films and the cultural significance of Rudy Ray Moore. Next, we talk about our overall reaction to the film and share our favorite scenes. We then share our MVP performances - Eddie Murphy is brilliant as Rudy Ray Moore and Da’Vine Joy Randolph is a revelation as Lady Reed. We salute the Oscar winning Ruth Carter’s spectacular work on the 70s-era fashions in the film. Give us all of the hats, leather jackets, and jumpsuits! Of course, no discussion would be complete without getting a little thirsty. We get into the objects of our thirst in the film and do a little fancasting.

INTRO - 30:01
We briefly chat about what we're drinking this week and get into the sh*t we liked/disliked. We are very excited about Marvel's The Eternals and have a bit of a Marvel moment. As for what we didn't like, we have had enough of comedians punching down.

43:30-2:30:13
The deep dive into Watchmen begins! We discuss overall impressions, favorite episodes, scenes that moved us, and the characters who struck a meaningful chord. We also share our thoughts on where Watchmen fell short for us as viewers.
2:30:14 - END
Things get thirsty, as we share our favorite Watchmen thirst traps and close out with our final thoughts.

Our discussion of the Star Wars legacy concludes with a deep dive into our feelings about The Rise of Skywalker and boy did we have a LOT of them! We had some pointed feedback about Rey’s legacy, the lack of LGBT+ representation, and the woeful underuse of Kelly Marie Tran. Fear not, there were some things we actually liked about the film and we discuss those as well.
We have a really fun discussion about our favorite thirst traps from the franchise. Kristine reveals her one true Star Wars love and Jocelyn has some serious Calrissian feelings. Maddie wowed us with some delightful deep cuts on her thirst list and raved about her “horny” boyfriend. We wrap things up by sharing our favorite Star Wars memories.
One correction - Jocelyn was referring to The Rise of Skywalker, not The Force Awakens, when discussing the diminished role of Rose Tico. When you drink and you know things, you might get tipsy and have the occasional slip of the tongue!

Join us for part one of our two-part discussion on one of the greatest cinematic stories of all time, the Skywalker Saga. We are so happy to have our official Star Wars expert, Maddie Kay Ray, back again to join in on the discussion.
As always, we kick off with the sh*t we liked this week. We were incredibly moved by Representative Ayanna Pressley's courageous announcement regarding her battle with alopecia. The world is a dumpster fire right now, so we thought it might be nice to double up on the sh*t we liked. Our special guest Maddie shared why she's digging Netflix's The Witcher.
Next, we start our deep dive into the topic of the week - the Skywalker Saga. We kick off by sharing what we love about the Star Wars universe. We are a little weary of the fandom wank, so we spent a bit of time talking about the fandom wars and the recent social media kerfuffle with John Boyega.
Once we get past the mess, we each share our rankings of the Star Wars movies. Empire Strikes Back, A New Hope, and The Last Jedi all ranked pretty high for us. We will return next Wine Wednesday to discuss our thoughts on the controversial The Rise of Skywalker and things get a little thirsty as we delve into our Star Wars crushes.

Join us this week as we cover the CW crossover event, Crisis on Infinite Earths. We joined in on the crossover fun by teaming up with Sticky Keys and Philip of the Beacon Hills After Dark and Fandom Bite podcasts. The Crisis on Infinite Earths sparked absolute chaos on infinite (technically three) podcasts and we loved every second of it!
As always, we started off with the sh*t we liked and sh*t we didn’t like this week. Our panel had a LOT to say about the royal situation with Meghan and Harry, so we combined it into a “mega” topic and let the opinions fly.
Next, we get into our topic of the week - Crisis on Infinite Earths. We start with our overall thoughts about the crossover, which we all agreed was a really fun time. Legends of Tomorrow continues to stand out as the strongest of the shows because of the campy writing (and Beebo).
As always, there was some sh*t we didn’t like. We are TIRED of the writers not giving Iris West-Allen more to do on the crossover and cannot believe that Barry did not go running home to his wife once he realized he was on a new Earth. We would have also liked to see more of the Legends get in on the fun, regardless of what promises Sara made to them about crossovers.
We demand justice for Brandon Routh in Superman Returns! Although the film left much to be desired, there is no doubt that Routh is an amazing Superman and we were happy to see him in the iconic suit again in the crossover. Lex Luthor ain’t shit, but he was good fun as he complicated things for our heroes trying to save the universe.
Of course things take a thirsty turn, as we talk about Hoechlin’s “super wedges” versus Iowa-born, cornfed Routh. We delve into Black Lightning being included in the crossover for the first time and chat about the characters who we wish were part of the action. We get into our favorite cameo appearances, including the delightful surprise appearance by Ezra Miller.
Philip and Jocelyn also get into some heated discussions about a few members of the West family. Let there be no mistake, this is a pro Iris and Wally West podcast!

We are delighted to welcome our very first podcast guest - Maddie Kay Ray! Maddie is a cosplayer, podcaster, and nerd loremaster. She flexes her loremaster skills this week as we talk all things Mandalorian.
INTRO - 10:41
We kick off with shit we like - Jocelyn loves the Epix series Godfather of Harlem and thinks you will too! We did not like the news of Marvel adding a trans character to the MCU being walked back/clarified to learn that there will be no progress on that front forthcoming. Cast Angelica Ross as Storm you cowards!
10:42-18:42
We then get into our overall thoughts about The Mandalorian AKA The Baby Yoda show. It is a perfect gateway for those new to the Star Wars universe. We marvel at how Jon Favreau took a deep cut and made it a hit.
18:43-51:04
Next, Maddie puts on a master class in lore as she explains where The Mandalorian falls in the timeline in the Star Wars universe and does a deep dive into the Mandalore. We also totally geek out over the Darksaber.
51:05-END
We close the discussion by sharing our thoughts on our favorite episodes, characters, scenes, and character arcs. We also share our wish list for season 2. No episode of I’ma Need More Wine would be complete without throwing a little shade and getting a little thirsty. We question people who don’t love Baby Yoda. Seriously, who hurt you? We thirst over one of the baddest bitches in the galaxy, Cara Dune, and celebrate the legendary acting of Giancarlo Esposito.
We loved The Mandalorian and had a blast talking about it with Maddie. Give her a follow on Twitter and IG!
PS - Jocelyn sincerely apologizes to Hellboy fans for referring to him as Hellraiser when discussing Kuill. She does not, however, apologize for referring to Greef Karga as Apollo Creed.

Join us as we share our hair inspirations, awkward hair-related interactions, handling major hairstyle changes, and Black hair stereotypes we would like to get rid of through a lens of memorable scenes from How to Get Away with Murder, Girlfriends, Sons of Anarchy, Waiting to Exhale, and Something New. Of course, no timely discussion of Black hair would be complete without unpacking the mistreatment of Gabrielle Union during her stint on America's Got Talent.
We recorded the episode before the holiday, so consider our well wishes for a great holiday an early gift for the 2020 holiday season (instead of a belated wish for 2019). :-)

We have a special episode of I'ma Need More Wine for you, straight from this year's Con of Thrones, the biggest Game of Thrones fan convention. Kristine moderated a panel on the baddest bishes in the game: Queens Daenerys, Cersei, and Sansa.
The panel included podcast faves Daphne Olive (@daphneolive), Kim Renfro (@kimrrenfro), and Lauren Sarner (@laurensarner). We tackle such fun questions as which one of these characters would actually win a U.S. election and what their campaign slogans would be, but also delve into the arc of their leadership styles and all the things that influenced those arcs.

Fleabag may have moved on, but we are still at the bus stop working through our feelings about the award winning series. Also, Jocelyn apparently has very strong feelings about Todd Bridges and cannot resist the urge to add an -s to Phoebe’s last name - hence the title of the episode.
INTRO-37:55
Our conversation continues with a discussion about the scenes that we liked and those we did not like. As with the first part of our discussion, our good sis Fleabag inspired us to be open and vulnerable about our own feelings and experiences. In a series as great as “Fleabag,” there are not really scenes that we did not like in terms of writing, it’s more about scenes that make us uncomfortable or strike an emotional chord in all the right ways. No discussion about “Fleabag” would be complete without the bus stop and a terrifying trip to the hairdresser with Claire.
37:56-01:17:03
Speaking of Claire, we continue to chat about our favorite uptight sister as we move on to discuss our favorite characters. We also shared our love for Belinda and the Hot Priest. It should come as no surprise that we agree that Martin is the worst, but he was not the only character we disliked.
01:17:04-01:33:49
Next, we explore the relationship between Fleabag, her father, and cigarettes as we chat about our favorite character arcs. We also discuss our connection to Claire’s stoicism and celebrate her decision to finally enjoy some well deserved happiness at the end of the series.
01:33:50-END
The discussion wraps with some fun fox speculation and a preview of the next episode.
Content/Trigger Warning: This series focuses largely on the main character grappling with the suicide of her best friend. As such, our discussion will also touch on this topic as well. We endeavor to handle all topics with care, but also want to alert you to this sensitive content in advance. The number for the National Suicide Hotline in the US is 1-800-273-8255. We’ve left Westeros and ventured over to London to celebrate our favorite messy, dry-witted friend in our head - Fleabag!
INTRO - 59:17
Our two-part discussion kicks off with the stuff we liked this week. Kristine celebrates all of the exciting new streaming content thanks to Star Wars: The Mandalorian on Disney Plus and the new season of The Crown on Netflix. Jocelyn is excited about Comrade Quilty - a leader in the feline liberation movement - finding his forever home. As for the stuff we didn’t like, we have had it with the lack of nuanced political discourse and the NFL continues to be the worst when it comes to colluding against Colin Kaepernick.
59:18-1:20:29
Our Fleabag discussion kicks off with our overall impressions of the show. Simply put - we loved it! Jocelyn also really loves Julia Louis-Dreyfus and manages to work in a salute to one of her favorite comedic actresses during the Fleabag discussion. Tangents, like drinking and using adult language, are part of the brand!
1:20:30-1:38:37
We move on to discuss our thoughts on each season. There are really no bad choices in a wonderfully written show with only two seasons, but we did ultimately reach a consensus on which season we liked most.
1:38:38-END
Part one of the discussion closes with our thoughts on our favorite and least favorite episodes. It should come as no surprise that a show about family, vulnerability, and healing inspired us to open up and lean into our own feelings a bit.
Content/Trigger Warning: This series focuses largely on the main character grappling with the suicide of her best friend. As such, our discussion will also touch on this topic as well. We close out our time in Westeros with a discussion about minor characters, character arcs, thirst traps, spinoffs, and whether or not the books will ever be completed. This was a marathon discussion and it’s very apparent that one of us is three sheets to the wind as we finally reached the finish line.
We dig into our favorite minor characters, which includes a salute to the queen of memes and queen of our hearts - Olenna Tyrell. Jocelyn remains completely on brand and could not choose a single character. As a result, we discuss that sexy Jaqen H'ghar music, characters who are tired of everyone’s ish, and give some well deserved love to the Reed children.
Next, we get deep into our feelings about Theon Greyjoy and Jaime Lannister as we discuss our favorite character arcs from the series. We also get into our least favorite arcs. Jocelyn did not appreciate Littlefinger hustling backwards towards the end of his arc and Kristine wanted more development for Daenerys.
We then move on to character deaths, which leads us to salute the Queen of Thornes once again for going out like a champ. We discuss the deaths we liked, the deaths we hated, and the ones that left us in shambles. If you are one with the thirst and the thirst is one with you, the segment on thirst traps will not disappoint! We also settle a very important debate about the best Daario and chat about our favorite failed fan theories.
The episode closes out with what’s next for fans and we revisit our prior discussion on Pose in response to a lovely listener letter.
Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, and we use adult language.

We get right back into our discussion of Game of Thrones in part 2 of our trilogy. In this episode, we share our thoughts on favorite and least favorite seasons. Kristine’s favorite season included lots of Stark family feels, crying in front of delicious pies, and a memorable battle in the North. Jocelyn could not settle on just one, so she discusses her tie for favorite season and reveals herself as a sucker for a “YASSSS QUEEN” moment with Dany.
Next up, we discuss our favorite and least favorite episodes. Kristine talks about the brilliance of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which happens to be both of our favorite episodes. Jocelyn discusses her runner up, The Lion and the Rose and delights in Varys serving up lots of side eye reaction shots. We balance things out with a brief chat about our least favorite episodes and then move on to our favorite major characters, both of whom are from House Stark. Jocelyn revisits the discussion from previous episodes about the importance of chosen family when talking about her least favorite character and Kristine talks about the shortcomings in the development of the Night King.
As always, we drink, we know things, and we use adult language! Join us next week for the conclusion of our trilogy, as we share our thoughts on minor characters, character arcs, thirst traps, and what’s next for fans of the series.

We leave the ballroom (for now) and venture into Westeros where we discuss the show that brought us together - Game of Thrones! We had so much to say, we messed around and made a trilogy!
INTRO - 32:31
As always, we kick off with things we liked. Kristine celebrated the Nationals winning the World Series and Jocelyn applauded the magic of drag shows. Support your local talent and tip the drag performers generously! The Nationals played a double-header in the episode, as they were also the topic of discussion for what Kristine did not like because of their lack of solidarity with the Mystics (who were not extended an invitation to the White House, unlike their baseball counterparts). Jocelyn revisited her gripes with two repeat offenders - Karamo Brown and people who disrespect the Emmett Till Memorial.
32:32 - 38:09
We transition into our Game of Thrones discussion by briefly pondering what we would do if we had dragons. As you would expect, our responses are very on brand.
38:10 - END
We begin by sharing what drew us to Game of Thrones. For Jocelyn, it was the shock of Ned losing his head. For Kristine, it was all about her loins and the actions of a certain naughty lion.
Next, we get into a few noteworthy show vs. book differences. An exhaustive discussion of the differences would easily give us content through 2020, so we limited our chat to a few key differences - some we loved, some we did not. We then move on to what we liked about the series as a whole. No discussion of what we loved about the series would be complete without a celebration of the genius of Ramin Djawadi. Ramin got Kristine deep into her Stark feels and Jocelyn makes an interesting revelation about which song was her favorite to wake up to every day. The episode, which is the first of our three-part discussion, closes with our thoughts on what we did not like about the series. We can love a thing and still have criticisms to share out of love!
We drink, we know things, and we use adult language.

We might be done with Pose for now, but we are not quite ready to leave the ballroom yet! This week’s episode features a deep dive into “The Queen,” a 1968 film directed by Frank Simon and “Paris is Burning,” directed by Jennie Livingston (1990).
05:40-31:02
What we liked this week: Jocelyn attended her very first ballroom event - the Porcelain Ball - and it was EVERYTHING! Kristine celebrated the LONG OVERDUE discussion of reproductive rights at the Democrats’ primary debate. In particular, we loved Julián Castro’s reproductive justice-framed response. We salute Castro and the impressive work of his campaign manager, Maya Rupert.
31:03-48:59
As always, there were things that we did not like. For starters, stop vandalizing the Emmett Till Memorial! Next, we move on to a very important public announcement: IF YOU ARE NOT BLACK, THE N-WORD IS NOT FOR YOU. Kristine wraps up the segment with another repeat offender - Twitter. People on the spicy bird somehow managed to confuse Elijah Cummings and John Lewis.
49:00 - END:
We move on from our personal rants to one of the greatest rants/reads of all time, courtesy of the LEGENDARY House Mother Crystal LeBeija in The Queen. In addition to LaBeija’s iconic reading skills, The Queen also highlights compelling explorations into the subjects’ views on military service and gender confirming surgery.
As many know, LaBeija is much more than a masterful reader. She went on to start the system of house-sponsored balls that are the focus of Paris is Burning. We reflect on the insights from the film’s subjects, the idea of fantasy fulfillment through ballroom participation, and how vocabulary from the film has evolved (or in some respects lost its meaning) over time. In the final half of our two-part discussion of Pose Season 2, we get into everything we loved and continue to love about the show. Messy Damon is everything, Papi is precious, and Elektra continues to be LEGENDARY! We chat about our favorite characters, storylines, our wish list for Season 3, and our regret for not seeing Luther Vandross live in concert. More importantly, give love to those who are important to you while they are still here to receive it.

Our Pose discussion continues with Season 2 of the series. We had LOTS to say, so we are breaking out our thoughts on the season over two episodes. We open with a chat about helpful life hacks for preparing adult beverages. In our segment on stuff we like, we celebrate Kristine learning how to swim and ponder the consequences of characters on True Blood wearing denim with no underwear. As for the stuff we did not like, we chat about the things we do for cute hairstyles and Karamo Brown.
We continue our praise for the show while acknowledging some of the second season’s growing pains. We kick things off with a chat about some of the weaker aspects of the season and storylines we still don’t quite know how to feel about. We cover everything from the writers exercising creative license with historical events, justice for Candy Abundance Ferocity, and the Ricky/Pray Tell pairing. We question the use of Madonna’s Vogue as a focal point for the start of the season and try to figure out how our ballroom faves are funding their fierce styles. Where are the sewing machines?!

In this episode, we discuss wines that will get you tipsy with just a few sips and discover very quickly that our wine tastes are aligned with our personal brands. We discuss the stuff we like, which includes heritage-inspired vacations and Normani. We vent about annoying, racist people on Twitter popping up in your social media mentions like the worst Kool-Aid man ever, which leads to a discussion of Twitter etiquette and geography. Fun fact - Africa is a continent!
After shooting the crap a bit, we get into the groundbreaking first season of FX’s Pose created by Steven Canals, Ryan Murphy, and Brad Falchuk. We take a deep dive into our initial impressions of the show when it was announced and then move on to our discussion of why the first season of Pose is amazing, must see television. We rave over what we like and also manage to work in a drag of Mario Lopez.
Friendly reminder, we drink, we know things, and we often use adult language in our discussions.
