Evy would say her top highlights were travelling with her family as a child and then with her husband and their kids as they were growing up. Other favourite times were when she trained to be a nurse in the 80s and when she studied recently for her master’s in peacebuilding and collaborative development. Evy loves creative writing and has recently published a children’s book called ghosts don’t have bodies, which celebrates the privilege of having a body. She is very grateful for her husband, Steve, her kids and their partners, and her grandkids, who have so much to teach her about life.

Born in Seychelles and growing up in East and Southern Africa, Fr. Richard René is a convert to Orthodoxy and a priest of the Orthodox Church in America. He lives in Chilliwack, British Columbia, with his wife Jaime. He has three children. He has worked as a Chaplain in the federal correctional system and is currently overseeing Chaplaincy services in the Pacific region for Correctional Service Canada. He directs St. Silas Orthodox Prison Ministry Society (orthodoxprisonministry.ca), and is currently working on his doctoral dissertation at Regis-St. Michael's College, Toronto School of Theology. Natalia and Maria are adult converts to the Orthodox Church. They are homeschooling moms and understand the daily struggle to find time for spiritual activities amid the demands of housework, schoolwork, and the rest. They strive to live in sync with the church calendar but it is difficult to juggle information from Scripture, the Synaxarion, prayer books, and the liturgical calendar. To solve this problem they created Parousia Press, which creates organizing tools and homeschooling resources that keep Christ, Scripture, saints, feasts, and fasting before us every day.
