We highly recommend players watch the professionals play and it is so easy now (and free) with Redbull TV app.

If you watch the pros carefully you can see the patterns of play they use and how well they move off the ball. It looks like they are lightning around the court, but much of that is anticipation and reading what it happening in the point. You can only start to get better at anticipation by watching how it should be done!

Good players are not always good coaches, whether in padel or any sport. While being a skilled player gives a coach valuable insight into the technical and tactical aspects of the game, the ability to teach and guide others requires a distinct skill set.

In this episode we sit down with Nick Williams, Head of Coach Education for The Padel School, to discuss the transition from coaching tennis to padel.

The next generation of padel coaches will be made up of a large proportion of ex-tennis coaches. The sports are similar (while different) and so it makes sense many will come from tennis. But we discussed that as soon as coaches acknowledge there is a major difference between tennis and padel, they immediately get a better understanding of the game!

It was great to be a spectator at the recent World Padel Tour Masters Final in Barcelona this week. The way the WPT has developed over the last 10 years has been really impressive - including the organisation of the event, the brands, the awareness for the public and the level of the players!

When a tennis player takes to the court there are often a few areas they are pretty good at, but there are also areas that often are more difficult...

The future of padel in Finland is bright thanks to this high-energy club. Always love speaking to Andreas to find out padel news from Sweden and how the players are doing on the WPT.

The players and Andreas put in some great training time and effort during the off-season and now all that work is starting to bear fruit. The players have had a very solid start to the season and are competing well against players that have been training in padel for over a decade.

In this episode we discuss what it takes for the Swedish pairs to come through at this level and the idea of "padel concept" or "padel IQ" - probably the most valuable attribute at the highest level!

This is a great episode for literally any padel player or coach. Manu is one of the best WPT coaches, currently coaching the top female pair (Ari Sanchez & Ale Salazar), and has a library of padel tutorial videos in Spanish on his YouTube Channel (@mejoratupadel).

In this interview we talk about how Manu got involved in padel and then coaching on the WPT. We discuss how to use strengths, weaknesses and what separates the players at the top level. Manu also tells us how his channel started and the hard work that goes into that!

In this solo episode I cover one of the most important tactics in the game, which is how to HOLD the net. Once you have managed to get to net, the key to winning the point is keeping this advantage as long as possible.

Players are often either: too aggressive as soon as they get to net, attacking any ball they can, OR are too tentative and do not take advantage of their court position.
