I'm acknowledging all the elephants and sharing some of my own personal experiences about feeling as if attending church was pointless. Because of Natasha, I gave attending a local church one more chance and I'm grateful for her push. Watching online, settling for a podcast with your favorite preacher's messages... (Still love a good Steven Furtick message!) God wants more for you and that is what this podcast is all about!

Have you been going through the motions on autopilot, doing the same thing every day? Do you feel like there has to be more to life than the life you are living? Do you struggle with anxiety, depression, discontentment, or just feel completely 'blah' sometimes?
Today on the podcast, we are talking about the three words I have been talking about since 2020. If you need a pep talk, this episode is for you and is sure to light a fire under your butt!
Circle the wagon. It's a word God gave me and it is beneficial to all of us. You cannot hear this message enough, it is so important. It's a talk about preparing. There are things you can do today, starting right now. And honestly, through this journey, for myself, there's always more work to do because we're never going to arrive, right? At least, not on this side of heaven.
Spiritual warfare is real. I don't talk about this to scare you. It's to prepare you. The attacks are going to come, but they don't have to hit as hard as they will if you don't get your stuff together. We must get ready. My mission is to help you live the life you were created for and to do it well, we must be prepared. If not, our lives will be full of distractions that derail us from the work God wants us to do.
In this episode, we talk about:
The importance of preparing for resistance and learning how to build resilience in the face of challenges to stay ahead of the curve and confidently navigate any obstacles that come your way.
Overcoming shame and forgiving ourselves or others to be free
Strengthening your marriage, family, health, and finances
Eliminating noise & finding time to focus on main priorities as a mom, business owner, etc
Embracing the journey of life and remembering that it's okay to lead/follow at different times. Focus on knowing where you want to go and taking intentional steps to get there.
Pursuing peace and what that looks like as a Christian
Circle the wagon. It's time to get your crap together. If you don't, who will?!!! Nobody. It is your responsibility. -Melissa Batt

When you know you've given it your all, you cannot ever be down on yourself. You didn't fail. If you gave it your all, you gave it your all. And I always say, do your best, give God the rest. In this episode of Priorities On Purpose, Christian Life Coach and Faith Mentor, Melissa discusses the importance of loving oneself and one's neighbors, as commanded by Jesus in the Bible. She also encourages listeners to assess how well they are loving God and others and to journal about it for self-reflection. Melissa emphasizes that loving oneself is not about self-indulgence but about self-care and kindness. She also challenges listeners to love their neighbors, regardless of differences, and to remember that everyone has a purpose. She shares personal experiences of struggling to forgive and love those who have wronged her, and the realization that her actions could either help or hinder their relationship with God.
Melissa concludes by urging listeners to step out of their comfort zones, as it can lead to personal and spiritual growth. Bible verses discussed (NIV translation): Matthew 22: 35-40 Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law? Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And, the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Whenever you say yes to someone or something, you are also saying no to something else. If you always say yes, how will you prioritize the things that truly matter to you?
Today you get a BTS (behind the scenes) of a laser coaching session I did with someone participating inside of my free 12 Weeks to Success Workshop. Sonya has gigantic goals and knows where she wants to go. However, her constant need to say yes to everything and over-committing leads her to neglect her well-being and limits her time to work on her God-sized dreams. During this laser coaching session, I work with her on setting boundaries and rebalancing her life to prioritize what matters most.
Some of her goals include becoming a life coach, creating a course to help women grow in their relationship with Jesus, and writing a book. This episode is a great example of what it is like to work with me. If you are a high achiever, constantly biting off more than you can chew, love to volunteer, and are always known as the 'yes girl', then get a pen and paper; you'll want to take notes.
In this episode, you will be challenged to:
Understand how important prioritizing self-care and your well-being is in your daily routines.
Discover the profound impact of balance and boundary-setting for your daily peace.
Realize the consequences of saying 'yes' to all and its influence on others.
Grasp the underestimated importance of stillness and reflection in goal mapping.
Take time to do a life audit to see how you are spending your time and why.
Prioritize your goals - If you're struggling to figure out your goals or have trouble following through on them, this episode is precisely what you need. It will challenge you to reassess your goals and provide guidance on how to focus on what truly matters.
My special guest is Sonya Smody from Set4Life.
She's a high-achieving single mom who navigates life with resilience and unwavering determination. Continually pushing the boundaries of her comfort zone, Sonya knows her calling and purpose. However, without realizing it, she often overcommits herself leading her to self-sabotage.
The Oxygen Mask Parable
You've probably heard the safety announcement about securing your own oxygen mask before helping others on flights, right? It's a brilliant metaphor to explain why personal care matters. If we can't breathe, we can't help others breathe. This principle applies to our day-to-day lives as well. For those of us who struggle to see our worth the way God does, this lesson is hard to learn and will lead to old habits if we aren't careful.
The Power of Moving Backwards
Our culture often romanticizes the notion of always moving forward and depicts taking even a single step back as a failure. But sometimes, you have to go backward to leap forward. It's like drawing back an arrow before letting it fly. Indeed, revisiting past experiences, re-evaluating priorities, and resetting the course of life can seem daunting. But it can also create necessary growing spaces and ultimately leads to healing if you allow God to help. Sonya openly discussed her fear of going backward in the podcast.
The Struggle with Priorities
You know that feeling when you keep piling on more than you can physically carry? Well, that's what we're talking about. A lot of people, just like Sonya, get caught up in a whirlwind of responsibilities. They believe they can handle everything that comes their way, from personal commitments to endless volunteering opportunities. Unfortunately, it becomes a vicious cycle of always saying yes, leading them to overlook their health and well-being. As one might imagine, this imbalance can take a massive toll on overall happiness and lead to long-term physical and mental exhaustion. From Sonya's perspective, her constant yes attitude initially seemed like a noble trait, one which made lending a helping hand to others a no-brainer. But, it came at a major cost.
The Martha Syndrome
In the biblical account of Martha and Mary, Martha was so wrapped up in serving guests that she missed out on the moment's joy. People, like Sonya, who find it hard to say no, often end up being the 'Martha.' They keep volunteering, serving, and giving until they are spent. While giving back and volunteering are valuable qualities, it's equally important to find space to be still and maintain main priorities. During the podcast, Melissa used the story of Mary & Martha to provide Sonya with a different perspective on her situation. Sonya, as an inherent doer and giver, admitted to being a 'Martha.' The challenge for Sonya now is to balance her 'Martha'-like willingness to serve with the heart posture of Mary.

In this episode of Priorities On Purpose, Christian Life Coach Melissa discusses the importance of setting boundaries in life. She defines boundaries as a line that defines the limits of an area and emphasizes that humans are not limitless in their resources, hence the need for boundaries. She argues that boundaries are necessary to protect our time, energy, and other resources, prevent burnout, and resentment, and live out our priorities.
Melissa also highlights the dangers of not setting boundaries, including frustration and the inability to accomplish God's work. She encourages listeners to audit their lives, identify areas of lack, and consider what it would look like to not struggle in those areas. Melissa also recommends the book "Boundaries" by Dr. Henry Cloud for further reading on the topic.

In this episode of Priorities On Purpose, Christian Life Coach & Faith Mentor, Melissa Batt dives into a topic close to the heart: the distinction between knowing God and merely knowing about God. She highlights the significance of fostering a personal connection with God, rather than just following rituals or traditions.
Melissa encourages listeners to nurture this relationship through prayer, Bible study, and surrounding themselves with spiritual mentors. As the episode wraps up, she suggests "None Like Him" by Jen Wilkin as a valuable resource for delving deeper into understanding God's unique qualities.

Stop worrying about what people think when things don't go as planned. This episode is all about mom life, pivots, fear, and Cara Pinder's new children's book about the tooth fairy. It's also a great episode for those who have big dreams and want to achieve all the things.
In this episode, Melissa hosts longtime friend and author of children's book, The Tooth Fairy's Stars, Cara Pinder. Melissa and Cara discuss the journey of embracing change, following one's calling, and overcoming the fear of judgment from others. Cara reflects on her path from being a hairdresser to direct seller to becoming a published author.
When you know you've given it your all, you cannot ever be down on yourself. You didn't fail. If you gave it your all, you gave it your all. And I always say, do your best, give God the rest. He decides what He does with the outcome. Surrender. And trust. You don't have to carry that heavy burden. -Melissa Batt

Welcome to Season 2, friends. We made it! And, I’m happy to share that we are niching down and moving out of business coaching. For those who have been around the longest, you may know that life coaching is where my passion truly is. And, while I will still be coaching a few direct sellers, they already know my holistic approach to make sure their main priorities aren’t neglected for the sake of sales, titles, and incentive trips.
This season on the podcast will be full of honest conversations and lots of heart-to-heart talks as we chat about all things life, mental health, and pursuing Jesus. We will definitely be continuing the conversation about Circling the Wagon and Living on Purpose.
We will do a few deep dives on what it means to be triggered, how to become ‘un’ triggered, how to set healthy boundaries, how to deal with conflict when you want to run the other way, and my PERSONAL struggles and convictions around ‘sober living’. Oh, and one more thing… You can count on lots of sharing of raw journal entries that leave me feeling a bit exposed but may help you grow in your own personal relationship with Jesus.
Are you ready for this adventure? Buckle up, buttercup. Season 2 is going to be a wild ride!

I know I'm not alone in my fear of the unknown. In the middle of 2023, I was on the phone with my mom and was telling her how exhausted I felt. I wasn't tired from lack of sleep. I was 'soul-tired'.
This episode is just a quick behind-the-scenes conversation with what God is teaching me as I lean into God and stop allowing excuses to hold me back. I am doubling down on vulnerability and leaning into the messy process of growth. And, I'm taking you along with me!
In this episode, I talk about:
Staying true to yourself in the pursuit of your goals.
Overcoming personal insecurities and developing your faith
Walking in unwavering courage to confront obstacles with humility.
Mastering the skill of venturing beyond your comfort zone and seeking support.
Believing in the vision and keeping your head focused on Jesus as you walk things out.
Keep your eyes on Jesus. Not the waves, not the wind, not the people that are behind you or watching you, but your eyes straight on Jesus because he's directing your steps. - Melissa Batt Coaching
Authenticity in Weaknesses
There is so much power in allowing others to see our weaknesses. It's time to be authentic and embrace your weaknesses instead of hiding them. People are more inspired by genuine vulnerability than artificial perfection, as it creates a relatable connection. In doing so, we empower others to face their insecurities and pursue their dreams without fear. Melissa Batt opens up about her struggles with seeking approval and perfectionism. From her point of view, it is crucial to be vulnerable and show our weaknesses in front of others, even if they may be uncomfortable. By doing so, she encourages the listeners to let go of their fears and insecurities and trust in God's plan for their lives. This approach of embracing authenticity in our weaknesses can help build courage and resilience in the face of challenges.
Speaking at Church
Melissa Batt spoke at a church prayer meeting and shared about encountering trouble. She gave examples including conflict, anxiety, depression, and other hardships. Believe it or not, this is actually an invitation to spend more time with God through prayer. She challenged the audience to remember that no matter if it is big or small, God is there & cares. Use the hard times to fan the flame for Jesus and be reminded that the obstacles we face are often distractions from the enemy. He would prefer nothing more than for the trouble we face to derail us from our purpose & growing our relationship with God. Have you set some big goals for yourself this year but are having trouble getting started or getting derailed from the habits you want to start or end? Do you think you may be holding yourself back from your true potential? So many of us fall prey to these misconceptions and most of us do it without even realizing it.
Misconception #1 - You have to be perfect to succeed.
Misconception #2 - Someone else can do it better than you.
Misconception #3 - Success means never feeling self-doubt.
But the truth is, you don't have to be perfect, there is room for you even when others are also doing it, and self-doubt is 100% normal.
As a Christian Life & Business Coach for women & direct sellers, I'm here to share with you the real truth - and help you silence your inner mean girl once and for all.
In this episode, you will be challenged to:
• Silence your inner critic and transform your mindset by reversing negative thoughts aka FLIP THE SCRIPT.
• Own your quirks and insecurities as tools to connect you to others and remain relatable
• Trust God to use all of you- the good, the bad, the ugly!
Your purpose and plan has the power to impact more than just yourself. It isn't about you. -Melissa Batt
Other Tips:
• Consider hiring a coach for personalized and focused accountability to help you reach your goals.
• Cut out Bible verses related to your insecurities and post them in visible places as reminders of God's love and purpose for you.
• Call out your insecurities and address them if you feel shame around them. The enemy can't use what you bring into the light.
• Speak out about the things that the devil wants to keep you silent in and acknowledge the elephants.
• Follow Melissa Batt Coaching on Instagram for daily inspiration and tips.
Giving Yourself Permission to Be You
Embracing our true selves, quirks, and all, is essential for personal growth and achieving true sustainable success. By permitting ourselves to be authentic and unique, we can harness our individual strengths and stand out in the crowd. In this episode, I share my personal journey to self-acceptance and want you to do the same.
In doing so, we can channel our unique abilities to truly live in the purpose God has for us and create a massive impact.

The new year is often a time for us to reevaluate our priorities, removing what is no longer working for us and adding new habits, as we start fresh for the new year. As you may know, I recently moved and am still going through the process of settling in. Moving also forces us to reevaluate the stuff of our lives, both physically and mentally as we move to a new place and space. In this super valuable and timely conversation I had with former coaching client, Susan Thrasher, we talk about how flipping the script will give you so much opportunity to change your life and what an impact this has had on Susan's life. In this episode, you will learn more about: • Decluttering your physical space and experience the positive impact it has on your overall well-being. • Finding healing and learning to let go. • Journaling for self-reflection and personal growth, leading to a deeper understanding of yourself and your goals. The clutter in your mind spills out into your world. Clear the clutter out of your mind, clear the clutter out of your house, and be clear and open to share the light and love that you are meant to be sharing. - Susan Thrasher Coaching women in life is my passion! Does this sound familiar? You set goals for yourself, but no matter how hard you try, you just can't seem to achieve them. You've been told that the key to success is simply setting goals, but you're feeling the pain of disappointment when those goals remain out of reach. It's time to uncover the missing element that no one told you about: aligning your personal desires and values. In this episode, we'll explore the importance of synchronizing your ambitions with your convictions. Get ready to break free from the cycle of unfulfilled goals and discover the true path to achievement.
In this episode, you will be challenged to:
Stop flying by the seat of your pants so you can be more intentional
Align your personal ambitions and convictions with the goals you set
No longer allow other people's expectations to define the goals you set
Set goals you actually want to achieve
Be courageous and share your dreams with someone you trust for accountability
Recognize your excuses so you can flip the script and overcome them
If that's not God's plan for you, it's okay if you don't want it. It doesn't mean you suck. It doesn't mean you're a failure. It just means you are called for something else, and that's okay. - Melissa Batt Coaching

Is going back to church something you are feeling called to in this holiday season? If so, this podcast episode will give you practical tips on finding a new church.
I'm acknowledging all the elephants and sharing some of my own personal experiences about feeling as if attending church was pointless. I know it sounds harsh, but it appeared that most church attendees were going through the motions. I wanted no part of it until my friend convinced me to try one more time.
Because of Natasha, I gave attending a local church one more chance and I'm grateful for her push. Watching online, settling for a podcast with your favorite preacher's messages... (Still love a good Steven Furtick message!) God wants more for you and that is what this podcast is all about!
In this episode, you will be challenged to:
I've coached dozens of clients through this process over the last year and watched them achieve so much more than they ever thought possible. I'm confident I can help you, too!

In this episode of Priorities on Purpose, host Melissa Batt challenges overwhelmed direct sellers to stop chasing all the shiny things, get laser-focused, and use the December digital detox challenge to experience more time, peace, impact, money, and opportunities.
When the world is telling us we need to be online and show up more consistently, I want to give you permission to take some time away and allow God to show off on your behalf.
All of the challenges are based on my own life and the things God used to help me become more intentional. It drew me closer to Him and also helped me get my priorities in alignment. My hope for the monthly challenges is for them to make you more aware of how through anxiety and overwhelm, we can begin living on autopilot and in survival mode. My mission is to guide and lead you with the challenge but it is mostly what you make of it.
You get to choose if you want to do a digital detox for one day, a week, or all month.
Personally, this time around, I'm going to spend weekends doing more intentional things with my family and less time on my phone. And, I am going to put my phone up at night instead of falling asleep scrolling. I may even get in another game of Monopoly with the kids! {IYKYK}

This episode is about anxiety. Lots and lots of anxiety talk. As a Christian Life Coach who works with quite a few women who navigate mental health issues like depression and anxiety, I often open up about my own personal struggles.
I read a journal entry live and go behind the scenes letting listeners in on what a REALLY hard day looks like for someone like me who struggles with Generalized Anxiety Disorder.
I also talk a lot about the craziness and panic I feel related to the overwhelm I experience driving in unfamiliar areas. It's a bit irrational. But, that's the thing, anxiety often seems irrational to others. And, at the same time, the person who is struggling with the thoughts feels completely paralyzed and overwhelmed.
This episode is for anyone who is or knows someone experiencing anxiety or is curious about learning more about anxiety.
You can also expect to:
In 2018 and early 2019, I was in a major funk and pit of depression. It was then that I made a decision to intentionally choose to do hard things. I flipped the script on my anxiety and when it is possible, I consider it a challenge and call it 'adventure'. (Please note that while it works for me, it isn't a guarantee and definitely depends on other factors as well.)
Why choose adventure? Choosing adventure is willingly giving up control and learning you will be okay. It gives God an opportunity to show off and for you to grow more reliant upon him. It's my anxiety life hack and it truly helps me be less anxious. It will serve you well AND help you grow your faith. Adventure requires faith. Faith produces more faith and helps us learn to be more reliant on God versus relying solely on ourselves.
Are you in survival mode or feel like you are existing and taking up space? It doesn't have to be that way, friend. I am passionate about helping women move forward and live life with passion and purpose. I've been there and lived the life, and now my mission is to give hope and practical tips to help you thrive with peace.

He is serving God and doing the work God has called him to do. Just like everyone else, he's human. That's why we need to read our own Bible instead of settling with listening to someone else read theirs. - Melissa Batt
Discern the significance of accepting individuals where they are in their faith journey. Elevation Church believes in serving both those who need spiritual milk and those who yearn for deeper spiritual instruction. Furtick and his church symbolize an accepting house of worship that caters to the diverse needs of its attendees, ultimately fostering love and embracing all.
Are you planning to attend live and want quick tips before you visit?
Plan ahead and arrive at the church early to avoid traffic and secure your seat in the main sanctuary. We were staying in a hotel 15 minutes away; an hour was not enough time to get through traffic and get parked. The further off campus you park, the less traffic you will endure. Visit the Elevation Church website to learn more about their campuses and upcoming events. Also, take advantage of the passionate volunteers who are there to assist you.

Fostering a Healthy Soul
Cultivating a healthy soul goes beyond mere physical wellness; it also involves spiritual well-being. Consistent self-evaluation helps in identifying the cultural influences that might be undermining the health of our souls. It is crucial to prioritize personal well-being, regular self-checks, and authentic personal development, which ultimately leads to spiritual growth.

If you're feeling trapped in a cycle of trial and error with mental health medications, trying medication after medication without finding the relief you desperately need, then you are not alone! It can be incredibly disheartening to put your hope and trust in a medication, only to experience frustrating side effects or little improvement in your symptoms. Despite your best efforts, you may be left feeling discouraged and hopeless, wondering if there is a better way to manage your mental health. But fear not, because genetic testing in mental health medication management offers a breakthrough solution that can finally provide the personalized approach you've been searching for.
My special guest on this episode is my sister, Kristina Hall
Kristina has struggled with depression and anxiety for over 22 years and assumed that her life would never get better. She felt like she had tried all the meds out there including Zoloft, Paxil, Celexa, Welbutrin, Prozac, and all the other SSRIs. However, after a suggestion from her therapist, she chose to have genetic testing done. Through this she realized she was on the wrong medication and her body didn't metabolize those meds well. This key unlocked the door to personalized medication that works with her specific genetic makeup.
If you or someone you know has struggled with their mental health, get ready to take notes. This episode will give you hope and be a starting point for you to discuss with your doctor.
Laziness is a symptom of a bigger problem, and a lot of the time it is a mental health issue. - Melissa Batt
In this episode, you will learn how genetic testing paves the way for customized and effective mental health medication strategies with less trial and error. Through a simple and non-invasive cheek swab, you can learn how your genetic makeup determines how your body breaks down the chemicals in the medications. We also talk about the stigma on those who struggle with depression, anxiety, bipolar and other mental health struggles and share resources you may find helpful if you are struggling or supporting someone who is struggling.
Transformative role of genetic testing
Genetic testing provides an invaluable tool in determining tailored treatment approaches for mental health issues. It aids in identifying the medications that a person can efficiently metabolize based on their genetic makeup. This can lead to effective mental health treatments, maximize the benefits of medications, and potentially reduce adverse drug reactions.

GENESIGHT® (linked here) is the specific testing Kristina had done. It seems to focus more on mental health medications that are commonly prescribed to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other psychiatric conditions.

This test also gives you information related to dozens of other areas not related to psychological issues such as opioid withdrawal, pain management, overactive bladder, sleep disorders, gastrointestinal, diabetes, dementia, Alzheimer's, multiple sclerosis, anesthesia, antifungals, HIV, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, atrial fibrillation, NSAIDS, Vertigo disorder, seizure disorders, COPD and gynecology. It also gives you specific details related to the MTHFR variant.

Real talk for those struggling with anxiety, ADHD, hormones and/or depression
If you are like me, you live most days feeling some form of exhaustion with major brain fog just trying to get through the day. You do the minimum necessary. And, it isn't because you don't want to do more but because it's all you can manage in one day. Then, one day, out of nowhere, you get a spark of energy, start feeling creative, and are actually thinking clearly. You feel on top of the world on those days.
Do you ever have those 'once in a blue moon' days where you actually have the energy and brain capacity to actually get things done? I call those my superwoman days! Seriously, I feel like I could conquer the world!
Today, we are going to be talking about this phenomenon I call the 'Superwoman Cycle'. If we aren't careful, this will set us up for failure. It's in this cycle we often overdo and over-commit leading us to feel like we have failed ourselves and everyone else around us. We let people down and then we feel bad about it and then we're exhausted because we tried to do all the things and it's a cycle repeating over and over and over. It often looks like inconsistency, flying by the seat of your pants, and
In this episode, we will be talking about ways to break the cycle and why it is crucial for you to live an intentional life with sustainability. We will also discuss how this cycle relates to having a scarcity mindset and what to do to turn things around. Also mentioned is a Fruit of the Spirit audit. This can be helpful as you become more aware of the struggle and choose to move forward developing more self-control and discipline.

In this episode of Priorities on Purpose, I am talking to those who are ready to monetize their God-given gifts and passion to help others. Some of you were born to coach and are finally understanding you can make money doing it. Spoiler alert: You are already coaching. You just may not be getting paid for it YET.
In this episode, I'll be sharing a few things I wish I would have known when I was getting started. Knowing this now can help you save time, money, and your sanity.
Top Takeaways:
Become clear and consistent in communicating your message online and in person.
Magnify your energy online for better audience engagement and deeper connections getting viewers to stop their scroll and pay attention.
Find your loyal lifers & connect with them regularly even if they aren't yet paying you.
Focus on value-driven connections and coaching without allowing your lack of clients to distract and/or derail you. Don't expect someone to hire you a week after you start serving consistently. Feeling entitled won't get you anywhere.
Don't fall for all the gimmicks. Shortcuts will not give you sustainability.
Improve your social media captions to make them more engaging and informative, encouraging users to pay attention to your content and stop scrolling.
Be intentional in your actions, recognizing that if you want people to pay you for your services, you must provide value and build trust. Give 10x the value of what you want people to pay you.
Be patient with yourself and your business growth, understanding success takes time and dedication. Commit to the process.
Consider seeking feedback and guidance from a mentor or coach to help you improve and grow your business. (I'd love to work with you!)
Remember your journey is unique, and comparing your progress to others can be unproductive and discouraging. Focus on your growth and success.
Are you ready to make progress toward those God-sized dreams? Want to start a podcast? Build a nonprofit? Maybe you have been wanting to launch your own coaching business to help those who are going through similar things you have gone through. Your goals can be as simple as cutting through the noise and finding time for the main priorities, building your audience, or improving relationships. I've coached dozens of clients through the last 4 rounds of the challenge and watched them achieve so much more than they ever thought possible. A few years ago I started working intentionally to live out my dreams. And, today, I'm a successful Christian Life & Business Coach who had already surpassed last year's profits within the first 2 months of this year. In this podcast episode, I am talking about God-sized dreams and how we can move forward when life is crazy chaotic with lots of twists and turns. {No hustling necessary just intentional hard work.🙌}
Want to know how I did it? Listening to this episode will not only provide you with valuable steps to pursue your God-sized dreams but will also inspire you to take action and rely on God more.
I have always had a burning desire to help women, but until a few years ago, I didn't know I could make money doing it. One day, I asked myself a life-changing question - if I could do anything without worrying about money, what would it be? The answer was crystal clear: coach women all day, every day. That epiphany led me to create a thriving business where I can combine my passion and impact the lives of others AND make money doing so.
Looking back, I can see how God has been the driving force behind my achievements, providing me with the gifts and opportunities to live out my purpose. I had to learn to trust in His plan, even when faced with challenges and distractions along the way. From setting boundaries to finding the right support system, the journey has been a test of faith, persistence, and overcoming my fears.
Investing in my dream, both financially and emotionally, has also been a crucial part of my success. My path toward coaching women began in 2019, although I had been coaching for years without realizing I could earn a living from it.
Main takeaways from this episode:
Keep the long-term vision in front of you and create boundaries to protect it.
Be prepared to say no to distractions and opportunities that don't align with your goals.
Recognize the journey will not always be easy, but don't give up.
Develop a battle plan for overcoming obstacles and staying focused on your goals.
Surround yourself with supportive people, including prayer warriors and mentors.
Get involved in a local church community to find like-minded individuals and support.
Use worship music for encouragement and motivation.
Be willing to spend money and understand the value of investing in your goals.
Remember that if you aren't willing to invest in your dream, it's unreasonable to expect others to do so.

Have you heard these myths about facing childhood trauma head on?
Myth #1: Time will heal all wounds.
Myth #2: Ignoring it will make it go away.
Myth #3: You just have to toughen up and move on.
Here's the truth: God wants to set you free from the trauma you have experienced. And, it starts with leaning into hard things and choosing to have the courage to face them. I share more of what God's been doing in my personal life and let you in on how God has shown up & showed out when I made the decision to take obedient action when it would have seemed easier to stay silent. This will give you encouragement, guidance, and hope as you move forward toward saying yes to what God is asking you to do.
In this episode, we will talk about:
What it looks like to lean into God and surrender to trust Him in hard things when you don't want to
Childhood Trauma including sexual abuse, grooming, and the cycle in families that keeps repeating
Speaking up even when you are worried someone can't handle it
Becoming free so we can help others become free
Creating space to process, rest, and take care of yourself while in the midst of hard seasons
Sometimes it would seem so much easier to do what everyone has always done and just pretend it didn't happen. But I knew that God was calling me to speak up. - Melissa Batt Coaching

Sign up for the next Twelve Weeks of Success workshop - This workshop will help you set and achieve your goals over the next twelve weeks. Look for the sign-up details in the show notes.

Small Steps, Big Impact: Your Guide to Navigating New Territories and Growing Your Business
I know I'm not alone in my fear of the unknown. Recently I was on the phone with my mom and was telling her how exhausted I felt. I wasn't tired from lack of sleep. I was 'soul-tired'. Real Talk: I'm in this season of continuously taking myself out of my comfort zone, and doing new things.
Have you heard these myths about attending church?
Truth: You don't have to be perfect to attend church, in fact, the church is a place for imperfect people to come together and grow in their faith.
A church should allow you to connect with others and you should actually enjoy it. Okay, okay... {Maybe you won't enjoy it immediately but you shouldn't hate it either.}
And, although you can worship God on your own, attending church allows you to be a part of something bigger than yourself and strengthens your relationship with God.
Note: After recording this episode, I stumbled upon a quote that spoke strongly to me.
A disconnected member of the body of Christ will not last. It must be attached to a body for sustainability.I can't remember the pastor's name but what he was saying was as Christians we are all a part of the body of Christ. If you are a believer, I'm assuming you know we are to be the hands and feet of Jesus. 1st Corinthians Ch 12:12-31 shares about different body parts and how all are essential for the work God is doing.
So what happens when a hand is cut off and no longer has blood flow? It dies. While some of us have left the church for a season and haven't yet lost our faith, I now believe God's word says it is crucial for us to be connected to a body of believers to sustain the hard days and the attacks of the enemy. WE NEED each other! If you are currently not attending a local church, I believe it is only a matter of time before you grow stagnant and get distracted by the world's noise. Let this message be a wake-up call!
In this episode, I know you will be inspired to take a step of faith in obedience to do whatever it is God is asking of you. Nicky's testimony of how God was gracious & loving every step of the way is a reminder for us today. He knows. He is a good, good father.
Other topics and thoughts mentioned in this episode:
Overcoming personal struggles and healing from trauma caused by the church
When you feel like an outcast because of things out of your control
Having a child with special needs inside the church and feeling unsupported
Divorce inside the church and why treating someone differently because of it isn't the answer.
Be intentional about going back to church, even if it's scary and intimidating, and remember that the church is made up of broken people who may not always know how to respond in difficult situations.
Acknowledge the elephants in the room and don't avoid what's uncomfortable.
Take time to reflect on what God may be calling you to do and trust in His plan.
Nicky Asher-Bowling is a resilient and inspiring coaching client of mine who has overcome numerous challenges in her life. As a devoted Christian, Nicky faced the heart-wrenching decision to leave her lifelong church after experiencing judgment and disappointment in her time of need. Despite these setbacks, Nicky maintained her faith and yearned for spiritual growth. With immense courage, she took the leap of faith and returned to church, embracing God's calling for her life. Nicky's journey demonstrates the importance of obedience and trust in God, even in the face of fear.
Overcoming the Fear of Going Back to Church
Returning to church after a long absence can be intimidating, especially if previous experiences have been filled with judgment or negativity. Opening oneself up to a new church community requires vulnerability and courage. The fear of rejection or not fitting in may hinder people from exploring their faith and finding a supportive and compassionate church community. It's important to remember that everyone's spiritual journey is unique, and sometimes, revisiting the familiar may offer new insights and stronger connections to our faith. Nicky Asher-Bowling faced her own fears and hesitations when considering returning to church after a long absence. Through our coaching and God's nudging, she realized the importance of trusting in God's calling for her life and recognizing that her fears were merely obstacles to her spiritual journey. Nicky's story highlights the powerful and transformative results she experienced as she overcame her fears and took those first courageous steps back into a church community where she felt welcomed and supported.
The Importance of a Welcoming Church
A supportive and welcoming church environment is crucial for fostering spiritual growth and a sense of belonging. Churches should focus on acceptance, understanding, and genuine connection instead of just following rules or imposing strict expectations. A person's spiritual journey is deeply personal, and a person's ability to grow and thrive in their faith is usually greatly influenced by the quality of the church community they are part of. For Nicky Asher-Bowling, finding a church that supported her personal views and beliefs was essential to her reconnection to her faith. Throughout her conversation with Melissa, Nicky shares how she eventually found a church that offered her a supportive and welcoming environment through their unique system of "house moms," which helped her feel seen and heard. This connection allowed Nicky to flourish in her faith and feel inspired to invite her husband to attend with her, further deepening their spiritual bond.

Do you want to increase your party bookings and sales in your direct sales business? Are you tired of chasing people and bugging the same people all the time for an order? Do you want to get back in the game with your business and actually start making money again?
I can help you turn your direct sales business into a thriving success. By implementing proven techniques and strategies, you can achieve the ultimate goal: a steady stream of party bookings and a bigger paycheck. With my help, you can transform your business and reach the result you've been dreaming of – a profitable and rewarding direct sales career. It's time to take action and start seeing the kind of success that doesn't leave you feeling burnt out and overwhelmed to sustain.
Listen in for my real talk about treating your social selling gig like a real business. Lots of people get into direct sales because they like the idea of earning money from home, but they fail to put in the time, systems, and effort required to build a successful & sustainable business. It should be noted that the sales consultant asking the question is a rockstar who has sold thousands per month in the past and built a small team. But, at the time we were talking, she was barely staying active. Don't discount or dismiss this episode based on the numbers I'm sharing with her personally. You can use these tips to hit any sales goal you have!
In this episode, you will be able to:
Take steps to strengthen the foundation of your business.
Learn more about the goal-setting process to have a great experience in your network marketing journey.
Hear more about using mega parties as a secret weapon to get in front of more people in less time.
Think about and take action to set yourself apart from others in your industry.
The Importance of Presentation
Presentation matters. You want to create a lasting impression on potential hostesses, recruits, and customers. This can be especially important when it comes to gift-giving or presenting party favors. A well-thought-out, visually appealing wow gift will help them remember you and want to work with you again. A tip for those who like to give extra products as a gift or mystery bag items: Do not give or include items you wouldn't want or others wouldn't want. The items you choose and the presentation of them can be the difference between a one-time transaction and a loyal, lifelong customer.
Setting Income Goals
Direct sales consultants often find success when they set specific income goals from the beginning. Establishing a money goal helps to keep you on track and motivated, and allows the focus to remain on tasks and strategies designed to achieve it. Goal setting helps you be intentional, get things done, and save time doing it.
Mega Parties
Another key strategy for direct sales success is to host Mega Parties. These events typically involve having multiple hostesses inside of one party, maximizing exposure and reaching more people in less time. Mega Parties can be held online or at home, and are a great way to boost sales and engage potential customers. I share my process of booking parties and the necessary steps to be the most efficient with the least amount of back and forth. Mega Parties, when executed effectively, are changing the game for consultants in Norwex, Thirty-One, Younique, Pampered Chef, Seint, and many others.
The Mega Party process for those who love the cliff note version:
Figure out how much money you want to make and do the math to see how much you need to sell in order to make that amount.
Block off the weeks on your calendar when you want to have parties before you ever ask anyone to party.
Make a list of all the people you want to ask to have a party.
Join the Success Lounge to receive the script to get started on the Mega Party and host three parties inside of one party.
Try to get at least two parties booked off of every single hostess.
Create a list of the perks for partying with YOU (not the company)
If you need help with wording, put your verbiage in the student community and ask for help with tweaking it.
Treat your business like a business.
Utilize the one-to-many strategy and focus on parties to get in front of a lot of people at one time.
Don't get caught up in creating party scripts or graphics to avoid the hard thing, which is rejection.
Create small baby steps to get you to your goal. Start with booking three parties every single month if you are currently less than 3.

Finding Courage in Mental Health Struggles with Breakthrough Challenge member, Mary
After years of pushing down her emotions and putting herself last, Mary finally scheduled an appointment with a doctor and even followed through, despite her husband's recent hospitalization.
And, sadly, her vulnerability was met with rude remarks by the doctor and nurse, leaving her feeling dumb and ashamed. To make it worse, a nurse actually said the words "Pull up your big girl panties", which is not helpful to someone who is already struggling.
Now, Mary questioned whether her struggles were even valid.
Quick tips and topics we talk about:
• Validate the courage needed to ask for help with mental health challenges.
• Ways that therapy can target and alleviate the roots of anxiety and trauma.
• Consider the critical nature of selecting a therapist with whom you can develop trust and rapport.
• Welcome the benefits of letting go of fear and leaning on faith for support and direction.
• Uncover the process of addressing and healing from the shame associated with trauma.
• Recognize that seeking help IS pulling up your big girl panties.
• Flip the script on negative self-talk and recognize your worth and value.
• Take medication if needed and recognize the importance of medicine in managing mental health.
• Journaling through emotions and asking for prayer support when feeling weak.
• Prioritize self-care utilizing a battle plan, and intentionally live a fulfilled life.
Healing Requires Confrontation
The road to healing often requires confronting and facing the source of our trauma or emotional distress. By avoiding these issues, we risk prolonging our pain and allowing it to dominate our lives. Confronting our past and its impact on our present can be an uncomfortable and challenging process, but it is necessary for growth and healing to occur. Melissa Batt gently guides Mary in the conversation to understand that, although the process is difficult, breaking apart can eventually lead to healing and freedom. Melissa encourages Mary to create a battle plan and seek protection during tough times by turning to prayer partners when needed. This deliberate confrontation of her traumatic experiences will allow Mary to start healing and find freedom in her life.
You are worthy of attention
Suppressing your emotions and struggles for fear of seeming needy or attention-seeking ultimately hinders your ability to heal fully. It's crucial to realize that your experiences, emotions, and the path to healing all deserve attention and care. During the podcast, Melissa Batt reminds Mary of her worthiness of attention and advises her to flip the script on her negative thoughts. By embracing her value and acknowledging her emotions, Mary can move forward in her healing journey with confidence and self-assurance.

From copy and paste to authenticity and value - Find your loyal tribe or as we call it around here-LOYAL LIFERS! But how do you do it? Listen in to find out!
In this episode, you will be able to:
Understand the role authenticity (and allowing yourself to be REAL) plays in direct sales, social selling, and network marketing businesses like Mary Kay, Scentsy, Park Lane, Norwex, Plexus, Thirty-One Gifts, Seint, etc...
Start creating content to set yourself apart and provide MASSIVE value to attract your people and build the like, know, and trust factor.
Know your pillars and who you want to attract to speak directly to them in your communication.
Learn to embrace your unique strengths to set yourself apart from competitors.
Ask for feedback to grow and polish your areas of knowledge & expertise because it's probably so obvious you won't see it.
To give value, you have to show up authentically. Stop hiding behind your products or the company you represent. - Melissa Batt
Other tips:
Stop teaching copy-and-paste methods in direct selling and network marketing.
Focus on creating value instead of noise.
Show up authentically and stop hiding behind your products or company.
Niche down and speak to one person.
Let your freak flag shine and share your quirks, stories, struggles, and obstacles.
Acknowledge all the things that set you apart and become super clear on who you are.
Share your personal stories to connect with your audience.
Define your LOYAL LIFER aka Ride or Die and determine who she is.
Help Others Navigate Their Obstacles
One way of demonstrating authenticity and providing value is to assist others in overcoming their obstacles. This can include sharing your personal struggles, giving encouragement, and offering support through empathy and compassion. In doing so, you become relatable & go beyond the surface talk and sales. Leverage your life experiences and skills to aid others facing similar challenges. In this episode, I share personal examples of how I have been open with my battles with ADHD, depression, and anxiety. By being open about my struggle to focus, for example, I have inspired others going through the same thing. As I walk this out, I can see that my 'loyal lifer' is someone who struggles to focus and sometimes feels like she is all over the place. Since this is something I have learned (and am still learning) to overcome, I can share tips on what has helped me. If they try the tips and it works, it builds trust and they are more likely to continue following, connecting, and trying other things that I share as helpful.
Acknowledge What Sets You Apart
It's important for all of us entrepreneurs to recognize what sets us apart. We do not have to compete with team members, new consultants, or even similar brands. There is room for us all! You will recognize this when you stop trying to be basic in your marketing and serve the masses. Identify your own strengths and weaknesses or seek feedback from close friends or family members. By getting clear on your uniqueness, you can stop trying to be like everyone else and own who God created you to be. Remember you don't have to know everything about a certain topic, you just need to know more than who you were five minutes ago. Example: I share how I am mastering the art of planning despite not being a natural planner. In this topic, I'm not targeting those who love to plan and have it mastered. I'm targeting people who wish they loved to plan, find it hard, and want to find something that works for them. Can you see how this fits with my brand of chasing squirrels, getting distracted, and having attention deficit problems?

In this episode of Priorities on Purpose, I share more from the Girlboss Basic Bootcamp in hopes it will help you prepare for resistance. For 3 years I've been challenging my coaching clients to slow down and pay attention. Are you ready to circle the wagon and start being proactive in your life? Tune in to find out.
Spoiler Alert: While life is hard and the enemy will come to attack you as you live out your calling, you DO have control over some areas of your life.
Key takeaways in this episode:
Look for the gaps and cracks in your life and create a plan to fix them. Areas mentioned include your health, relationships, marriage, finances, and your home.
Declutter and organize your home to remove chaos and create peace. If you struggle with anxiety, ADHD, or depression, this will be extremely helpful for you.
Take time to review your budget paying attention to what comes in and what goes out to improve your financial situation.
Spend intentional time in your closest relationships to make sure you remain connected.
Stop putting off taking care of yourself. Prioritize your health. Schedule the doctor's appt you have been putting off. Go to the dentist. Move your body.
Consider adding an additional stream of income to live out your calling or if you are already a direct seller, utilize your business as a vehicle to help you do so.
Join a book club or find other ways to slow down and reset to avoid being too busy to take care of yourself and your priorities. Check your rhythms.
Circle the Wagon
Circling the wagon involves identifying areas in our lives that are more vulnerable and taking steps to strengthen them. This proactive approach will help you have more peace, limit your distractions, and protect your resources. It's time to get off the hamster wheel and out of survival mode. This is the message God gave me in 2020. Today, the words are still written on my mirror in my bedroom as a reminder. It's my mission now to help others recognize that living in reaction mode and putting out fires regularly isn't how it has to be. Follow these steps and protect your peace.

Are you holding yourself back from your true potential?
Silence your inner critic and transform your mindset by reversing negative thoughts aka FLIP THE SCRIPT.
Own your quirks and insecurities as tools to connect you to others and remain relatable
Trust God to use all of you- the good, the bad, the ugly!
Your purpose and plan has the power to impact more than just yourself. It isn't about you. -Melissa Batt
Other Tips:
Consider hiring a coach for personalized and focused accountability to help you reach your goals.
Cut out Bible verses related to your insecurities and post them in visible places as reminders of God's love and purpose for you.
Call out your insecurities and address them if you feel shame around them. The enemy can't use what you bring into the light.
Speak out about the things that the devil wants to keep you silent in and acknowledge the elephants.

Does anyone else move a lot like me? One of the hardest parts of moving is finding all the favorites in the new area. We have to research and make so many decisions like where to send our kids to school, the best neighborhoods, who to use for a pediatrician, a dentist, our own primary care physician, etc... And, then of course, for those of us who consider ourselves Christians... We need to find a new church. While this isn't easy, it is doable. And, with as much as we have moved, I now consider myself a professional church researcher and love to help my friends and coaching clients narrow down their choices to not allow decision fatigue and analysis paralysis to keep them from jumping back in and getting back to church.
In this episode, you will learn a lot of tips and tricks like:
Asking friends, family, or colleagues for church recommendations and inquiring about their experiences.
Visiting church websites to gather information on their beliefs, programs, and staff.
Watching live streams or recorded services to get a sense of the worship style, music, and preaching.
Reviewing church social media accounts to gain insight into the church community, pastor, and children's program leaders. {I know I'm not the only one who stalks Facebook accounts, right?}
Reaching out to friends who follow or like the church's social media pages to ask about their experiences and opinions.
Attending a service at the TOP 3 churches and being open to trying different churches until finding the right fit.
Engaging with church members and staff during your visit, asking questions, and expressing your interest in learning more.
Getting involved in church events, small groups, or volunteer opportunities to further immerse yourself in the church community and make connections.
And, last but not least... Feel free to reach out. I'd love to help you find a church that meets your needs.
Bonus Tip
Obviously, taking time to look up the church's website and social media accounts can provide great information on their beliefs, values, and available programs. But, if you take time to watch recordings or live streams of previous services it may also give a glimpse into the atmosphere and worship style of a church. Look for churches that post candid photos of their congregation to see how people dress and what the overall culture of the church is like.
Importance of Outreach and Serving
Outreach and serving opportunities within a church allow members to serve the community and be a part of something greater than themselves. Being involved in outreach programs can foster personal growth and spiritual development, as well as strengthen one's connection to the church community. Finding a church that emphasizes the importance of serving and encourages involvement is crucial for those of us who love to create impact. By participating in these programs, not only does one grow spiritually, but they also have the ability to make a difference in the lives of others.

In the last two years, I have had conversations with several women who feel called to either begin attending or go back to church. In today's podcast, I'm acknowledging all the elephants and sharing some of my own personal experiences about feeling as if attending church was pointless. I know it sounds harsh, but it appeared that most church attendees were going through the motions. I wanted no part of it until my friend convinced me to try it one more time. Because of Natasha, I gave attending a local church one more chance and I'm super grateful for her push.
Watching online, settling for a podcast with your favorite preacher's messages... (Does anyone else love listening to Steven Furtick's podcast episodes of his Sunday messages? If so, I see you, girl!)
God wants more for you and that is what this podcast is all about!
In this episode, you will be challenged to:
Acknowledge personal fears, rejections, and past hurts that could have you self-protecting and avoiding
Recognize your need for local believers to pray and connect with
Stop living offended and instead use it as an opportunity for intentional conversations
Recognize when avoidance to what is uncomfortable gets in your way of spiritual growth
Trust in God's guidance and provision, remembering my favorite bible verse; Matthew 6:8: Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
Be courageous and take steps to go back to church, even if it's terrifying.
Reflect on any past church hurt, remembering that people hurt you, not God, and that it's important not to put the church on a pedestal. The church is full of broken people who are in need of a Savior and help.
Research churches in your area, considering factors such as location, denomination, and community involvement and pick three to try out.
Attend a church service or event, keeping an open mind and heart.
Get involved in a church community by joining a small group, ministry, or volunteering in an outreach program.
Consider reading the book Triggers: How We Can Stop Reacting and Start Healing by David Richo
Reflect on any past experiences of rejection or abandonment and how they may be influencing your feelings about attending church
Remember that God is calling you back to the church not only for your own growth but also to be a part of a community of believers and serve others.
Re: Recognizing Triggers
Triggers are specific cues or situations that cause an emotional reaction or flashback from past traumas or hurt. Becoming aware of one's triggers allows for better management of emotions and reactions to challenging experiences. Identifying these triggers and working through them ensures past emotional baggage does not hinder your growth. In this podcast, I chat a little bit about the concept of triggers and their potential impact on rejoining a church community. Previous experiences of rejection may lead to negative emotional responses when contemplating attending a new congregation. While this may be uncomfortable, I want to challenge you to flip the script and work through these emotional triggers, analyzing the root causes, and seeking support as needed to overcome them. Doing so will enhance the individual's ability to develop a healthy church experience free from the influence of past emotional scars.
God is calling you to get involved.
Delayed obedience is disobedience. Not only do you need the church, but the church also needs you. - Melissa Batt

Is God calling you to go to the altar? What would it look like if the church was full of hungry people who want to be in the presence of God and no longer care what people think?
Stop second-guessing yourself. Be bold. Recognize the opportunity to support someone else's faith and go first.
Get out of your seat and take the steps forward. If Jesus is willing to die on the cross for us, can't we surrender our pride and go to the altar? Intercede for others. Pray for yourself. Praise Him for what He has already done in your life. Consider it an act of obedience because you know God is moving and doing a new thing.
I shared this message live at midnight after tonight's Good Friday worship service at my church here in Kentucky. Because Easter is so close, I wanted to upload this message here as quickly as possible in hopes some of you will be more aware this Sunday. This episode is raw & real and is unedited with me sharing my heart and what I know God has been telling me over the last couple of years.
It's about going first.
It's about not staying in your seat but going to the altar when you feel the prompting from Holy Spirit.
It's about leaving your comfort zone and not allowing the spirit of resistance to stunt your growth.
P.S. If we want revival, we must allow ourselves to linger in His presence and lay down our pride, motives, and agendas.
P.S.S. Have you been putting off getting back into the church? Or maybe you haven't yet found a home church or you are overwhelmed with the idea of even looking for a good church. God is doing a new thing and He needs you to show up for His people. Be on the lookout for another podcast soon on how to find a church, what to look for, and how to feel comfortable walking in the doors before you even leave your house. And, no, I'm not talking about watching church online through a live stream or Youtube Channel.
The next Breakthrough Challenge will be starting soon. Sign up now so you will be ready to go! Your goals can be as simple as going back to church, reading your bible, or meeting new people through a bible study. Several of our current participants have similar goals and will tell you it is possible! I'd love to help you. And, of course, if you have a business or other life goal, we can do that too!

Despite my fears, I trusted God and surrendered my struggles and comfort to walk out this journey of coaching. Every day I get to wake up and do what I didn't even know was possible. I had no clue I could be paid to do life coaching. I truly thought my calling was to show up as the best top leader in my direct sales/network marketing business and I was super satisfied with it. However, sometimes God wants us to think bigger, step out of our comfort zone, and stop putting Him in a box.
Today, I'm no longer in direct sales but instead, I have the opportunity to coach women (inside and outside of the network marketing industry) to live a fulfilled purpose-driven life. So how did I get here? I'm glad you asked because today's episode is all about it!
Top Takeaways:
Keep the long-term vision in front of you and create boundaries to protect it.
Be prepared to say no to distractions and opportunities that don't align with your goals.
Recognize that the journey will be difficult, but don't give up.
Develop a battle plan for overcoming obstacles and staying focused on your goals.
Surround yourself with supportive people, including prayer warriors and mentors.
Get involved in a local church community to find like-minded individuals and support.
Use worship music as part of your battle plan for encouragement and motivation.
Don't be afraid to invest money in your dreams, even when it seems challenging.
Be willing to spend money to make money and understand the value of investing in your goals.
Remember that if you aren't willing to invest in your dream, it's unreasonable to expect others to do so.
Also, remember it is important to Circle the Wagon and be proactive as you start walking these big dreams out. I have a great freebie that will help you assess and start preparing ahead of time for the resistance and chaos that could come when you start living fully for God.

Join me and my friend, Tori, as we discuss this phenomenon I refer to as the 'Superwoman Cycle'. It's where we are unintentionally trapped in a relentless cycle of overcommitting, exhausting ourselves, and feeling like a failure. This cycle shows up in all parts of our lives including our businesses and home life.
The good news is you don't have to continue on this path. You will have to stop flying by the seat of your pants but it is absolutely possible to regain control and break out of the cycle.
I'm a Christian life and business coach who helps overwhelmed direct sellers grow their income, audience, and influence without sacrificing their mental health and main priorities. This topic is right on point for all of us!
We have to be disciplined in our approach to the cycle and learn to trust the process. When we do, we can realign our priorities, allowing us to lead a more sustainable and fulfilled life.
In this episode, you will learn the following:
1. Breaking the Superwoman Cycle - Discover how to recognize and break the cycle of showing up inconsistent, exhausting yourself, and feeling like a failure.
2. Setting Business Hours - Find out how to prioritize family and yourself while still running a successful business. All about my own personal fears when it came down to making this decision and why it was the best thing I've ever done (and in all areas of my life including business)!
3. How to do a Fruit of the Spirit Audit and God's promises - How to ask God to help you develop self-control and discipline.

Where have I been? Why hasn’t there been much activity from me? What’s God been doing in my life?
Addressing it all in this episode. Lots of tears. Unscripted. A very casual conversation about making the decision to hit pause and help care for my Grandma who was nearing the end of her life. I talk about how God set me free of my crazy fears once again and helped me become more loving and grow in gentleness.

Are you a direct seller looking to streamline your processes so you can quiet the noise and breath again? Are you overwhelmed and feeling like there just isn't enough time in the day for you to be who you know you are supposed to be? If so, you’re not alone. Today we’re joined by Wendy Thomas, a mama, encourager, advocate, and coach who once found herself in the same situation. She was a stay-at-home mom, barely staying active in her direct sales business, and had no goals or ambitions to do much with her business as a Thirty-One Consultant. She only knew she needed to get out of the house!
When working with Wendy, it was clear that we needed to do life stuff before we could focus on business things. Through hard work, focus, and staying the course, Wendy managed to turn her business around and create systems to streamline things.
In our Breakthrough Challenge Spotlight today, we will explore Wendy’s story and learn how she did it. I’ll outline how Wendy Thomas managed to create a system for her business that brought her consistency, healthy habits, and systems. If you are ready to learn more, let's get to it.
About Wendy Thomas
Introducing Wendy Thomas - a mama, encourager, advocate, and coach. She has a coaching business that helps mamas who are raising a child with a diagnosis. Wendy is no stranger to the struggles of being a stay at home mom, as she has experienced it herself. After her youngest child received a medical diagnosis, she realized her job was to help other mamas navigate the journey of raising a child with a diagnosis. Wendy's journey began when she was just a hobbyist in the direct sales world. Through conversations and coaching, Wendy was able to open her eyes to the possibilities and opportunities of running a sustainable business. With my help, Wendy also addressed her trauma and fears related to an abusive relationship from her past.
Why is it important to build an effective system for your business?
In order to get your time back as a direct sales consultant or network marketer, you must streamline your processes, increase efficiency, and get in front of new people. A well-designed system provides a framework to keep all the balls in the air, keep your main priorities first, and track performance. Systems also allow you to save time, energy, and brain power by reducing redundant tasks and ensuring that the most important tasks are completed quickly and accurately. When you show up and do things consistently it will also build trust in your brand, identify problem areas, and help you focus on the things that matter most for your business and life goals.
Here are the steps you need to follow:
1. Taking Baby Steps
2. Staying Laser Focused
3. Continuing on the Path
1. Taking Baby Steps
Taking Baby Steps Taking baby steps is a great way to start on the path to achieving your dreams. The first step is to break down your goal into smaller, achievable tasks. By breaking down the goal into smaller tasks, you can start by taking one small step each day that will bring you closer to your goal. For example, if you want to start a business, the first step would be to consider your options. What kind of business would you like to be a part of? Another way to take baby steps is to use a habit tracker. A habit tracker allows you to track your progress and plan out the specific steps you need to take each day. This will help you stay focused and motivated. It also helps to have a support system that can provide you with motivation and accountability. Having someone to cheer you on and push you to keep going will help you reach your goal. Finally, having patience and persistence is key. It's important to remember that success doesn't happen overnight. You will experience setbacks and challenges along the way, so it's important to stay focused and keep moving forward. Taking baby steps and not giving up will help you eventually reach your goal.
It's also important to take time after each baby step to evaluate your progress. What worked? What didn't? What could you do differently next time? Doing this exercise will help you keep moving forward instead of accidentally getting into the 'check the box' and autopilot mode. It also helps you to recognize and celebrate your successes.
2. Staying Laser Focused
Staying laser focused is essential to having a successful life and business. For Wendy, it meant committing to the mega party and continuing to do the same thing even when the results weren't immediate. It also meant setting aside her fear of being visible and facing her trauma head-on. Once she was able to do that, she was able to move forward and start seeing results. She also had the support of the Success Lounge group membership. All members of my membership are provided with scripts and ideas. This gave her the baseline she needed to start creating her own content. She was able to recognize the noise in her head, and the thoughts that were holding her back. By recognizing these, she was able to move past them and start taking the steps necessary to create her business. By staying the course and staying laser-focused, she was able to achieve the success she never thought was possible.
To stay laser-focused, Wendy also took the time to prioritize her daily tasks. She knew that she couldn’t do everything at once, so she made sure to focus on the most important tasks that would bring her closer to her goal of a successful business. By dedicating her time and energy to the most important tasks, she was able to achieve her goals faster.
3. Continuing on the Path
Once Melissa and Wendy began working together, Melissa helped Wendy to overcome the trauma of a past relationship, which had been holding her back from moving forward. Wendy then began to realize that she could make her direct sales business a real business, and not just a hobby. She started by committing to a “mega party” and remained consistent, despite not seeing immediate success. This helped Wendy to stay focused on her goals and not be distracted by shiny new things. She also had access to resources, such as a “success lounge” with scripts to help her become more comfortable with her business. Ultimately, Wendy was able to stay the course and continue on the path to success. Through this process, Wendy was able to overcome her fears and make her business a reality.
Wendy was also dedicated to learning and growing as an entrepreneur. She attended our first Success Lounge Intensive and showed up to every masterclass, group coaching session, and 1 on 1 session to gain knowledge from other successful entrepreneurs. Wendy was also willing to take risks in order to grow her business. She took the initiative to close her Facebook Customer VIP Group, created a website, which enabled her to reach even more customers, and she began to build a network of loyal customers who continue to support her. Wendy was able to take her business to the next level. She was able to stay focused on her goals and was not afraid to take risks and try new things. Through her dedication and hard work, Wendy was able to turn her direct sales business into a successful venture.
This episode is a great example of how staying focused and taking baby steps can help you achieve success. By taking consistent action, having a support system, and staying laser-focused, you can overcome the fear and trauma holding you back, find your voice, and be who God called you to be.
And, of course, I'd love to partner with you to help you move forward to live the life of your dreams. Our next Breakthrough Challenge starts in April. Get on the waitlist now so you can get started ASAP!

Trigger Warning: The word 'grooming' and 'sexual abuse' is mentioned and briefly discussed in this episode.

Use this formula to book parties, work your direct sales business and reach your goals faster!
This episode is about creating a plan for your direct sales business and having a specific goal. A Breakthrough Challenge member set a goal to make an extra $100 in fun money using her direct sales business. While she currently sells for two companies, Norwex and Thirty-One, I help her figure out where to start. I also ask hard questions for her to really determine what she wants and needs. I even asked her if she thought she should be doing direct sales because sometimes a side gig is meant to last for a season and not for forever. Don't be so busy going through the motion that you ignore it.
I talk a little about the Mega Party, where you book all the parties for a month at once and have the script ready to go. I also share my booking parties strategy that eliminates a lot of the endless back-and-forth messaging and helps you build a solid calendar full of bookings.
"It's not that people aren't wanting to party, it's that they aren't wanting to party with you or you're not asking them or they're not wanting to party with the business you have. But if you make it fun and you're asking, they will say yes."
In this episode, you will learn the following:
1. How to grow your income, audience, and influence while protecting your mental health.
2. Strategies to live with intention, enjoy what matters most, and build a sustainable business.
3. Proven techniques for successful direct selling and making extra money.

During this month's challenge we are working to be more intentional with our use of digital devices and this includes using social media. A community member, Laura, inside of the Real Talk Tribe, asked a great question and I thought it would be of value to those who listen to the podcast.
Laura asks, "Does anyone have any tips for not getting sucked into social media if you can't avoid it entirely? Every time I want to post something for work, I have to log into my personal Facebook, which pulls up my personal feed, and then I get sucked into scrolling."
Is it possible to use social media and yet not allow it to become a major time suck? Yes. I'm here to give you the lowdown!
In this episode, you will learn the following:
1. How can we be more mindful of our social media usage and break the cycle of overconsumption?
2. How to flip the script on our beliefs around social media a positive force, instead of a source of comparison, negativity and brain fog?
3. What tips and tricks can we use to get more done and spend less time scrolling?

Is there something in the back of your mind that you have always wanted to do but have been too scared to do? Or have you been working towards it for a while but keep getting distracted and derailed? If so, this episode is for you.
I talk through three key things I believe have helped me achieve my dreams of being a successful life and business coach. When I started dreaming of where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do, I didn't even know it was possible to get paid to coach women. Three years later and here I am as a Christian Life & Business Coach, living out my dream AND getting paid for it. Every time I say it, I'm left in awe of how cool my God is! {Won't He do it?!!! Yes, He will!}
Check out this episode to hear about the three things I have done to get to where I am today.
I discuss: how to stay focused, create a battle plan, & why it’s important to invest in your dream.

Personally, this time around, I'm going to spend weekends doing more intentional things with my family and less time on my phone. And, I am going to put my phone up at night instead of falling asleep scrolling. I may even get in another game of Monopoly with the kids! {IYKYK}

During this laser coaching LIVE session, I'm helping a direct seller continue walking out the goal of selling her very own devotional. During the last 12-week Breakthrough Session, she planned it out and wrote it. And, now her goal is to launch this book into the world and sell it. We talk about how easy it is to think of the big action steps and how it can seem so hard to follow through on the tiny little steps that make up the big action steps. In our head, it seems so big and daunting but realistically, if we set a timer for 30 minutes, we could probably knock it all out quickly. We talk about time management tips and the importance of celebrating the way you want to celebrate after the job is done.
This is a FACEBOOK LIVE Laser Session so I apologize in advance for the audio quality. (Work in progress over here!! 😜)
We discuss her social media strategy, email lists, crafting email copy to connect with her audience, remembering to stick to the plan and keep it simple, and the overall journey of walking out a God-sized dream of writing and selling a devotional.

If you struggle with ADHD, anxiety, overwhelm, or just always feel tired, I believe this episode can help you. This month is all about choosing to consume less sugar. Through this episode, I share more about my journey, the benefits of choosing less, and tips to make the most of the challenge. Disclaimer: I'm not a health expert. I'm just a 42-year-old female who has lived enough life to understand sugar doesn't serve me. Do I still consume it? YES! It's a journey. It doesn't have to always be this way but for her the direct sales business is how she is currently making money and a vehicle God is using to help her build her brand, get in front of new people, and provide income as she invests to see her dream business become a reality.

[00:00:02] - Melissa Batt is the host of Priorities on Purpose, a podcast for direct sellers who want to grow their income, audience, and influence without sacrificing their mental health and main priorities. A Christian life and business coach, alyssa is here to help you get out of your head and live with intention.
[00:01:26] - As a child, I felt like my dad never had time for me. Now, as a mother, I know that I'm a lot like him. I think I am doing better now than I was years ago. But I still have a lot of work to do. Time management is hard, especially if you're a mom.
[00:03:51] - Melissa Batt is the host of Priorities podcast. Today's episode is about time management. Melissa's childhood was hard because her dad worked a lot and she resented her uncles, her aunts, and her grandma. Melissa hopes to help people manage their time more effectively.
[00:06:10] - The name of the podcast is Priorities on Purpose. It's all about being intentional with your time. According to the enneagram personalities, Melissa is a seven and loves to have fun. She hated having a plan for a long time, but she's learned that if she wants to do the things she really wants, she needs to have a plan.
[00:07:14] - Haggai. Chapter one, verse seven is a Bible verse that talks about being careful. My passion comes from a place of experiencing the freedom from managing my time. We must create the margins in our life. And if we don't, we will be ruled by everything else.
[00:08:00] - Time is precious. And we only have a certain amount of time if we want to have strong Christian kids that believe in Jesus and live for him or have a good marriage and live happily ever after on a beach or to be debt free. We have to start planning for it now.
[00:13:54] - Priorities on Purpose is the name of the podcast. It's time to allow things to align and be intentional. For a long time, she was living her life with her business as the priority. She used to put more pressure on herself than others expected. Now she helps her clients to do better than she did.
[00:18:12] - There are some time-saving hacks that can help you cut down on the number of things you have to do in order to save more time. They are: eliminate, automate, delegate. For those of you who are still going to the post office, Pirateship and pirate ship is a game changer.
[00:22:36] - Batching is a planning process that groups similar activities together to improve your focus and productivity. It makes your todo list and overwhelming projects and tasks super digestible and improves your productivity while reducing mistakes. It works especially well for people with ADHD and for people who want to build a business.
[00:28:34] - Turning off the sound off on your phone and turning off the notifications to your inbox is a good way to improve your productivity and focus. It's OK to set boundaries to protect your priorities. Hustling hard is not healthy and doesn't mean you are being productive.
[00:34:26] - When she was in therapy in 2019, she didn't want to talk to her kids, and she was too empty to have a deep conversation with them. For her, watching a movie didn't require her to talk, but she was present with them to some degree. When she started moving her body, she literally walked to the mailbox.

Direct sellers or those of you who are still going to the post office regularly... I mentioned an alternative that was a game changer for me! I waited forever to try it out because I didn't have time to learn something new. This is so easy, you will probably not even need to watch a tutorial to figure it out.
