In this conversation, Inner Shift facilitator Caro Pankert, transformation coach and energy healer, discusses the impact of psychedelic therapy on parenthood and emotional well-being.
Caro emphasizes the intense pressure parents face in today's capitalist society. They are expected to excel at work, be perfect parents, maintain strong relationships, and face constant scrutiny from others about their parenting methods.
Many parents carry their own childhood wounds and traumas, which can interfere with their ability to parent effectively, especially under stress. This often leads to feelings of guilt and frustration when they react negatively towards their children.
Psilocybin has helped Caro confront and heal from her childhood traumas. It has enabled her to connect with her inner child, understand her own emotional triggers, and consequently, be more patient and loving toward her children.
Through psilocybin experiences, Caro has learned to regulate her emotions better. This allows her to respond to her children's emotions with patience and understanding, rather than reacting impulsively or dismissively.

In this conversation, the team of the Inner Shift Institute discusses how to have the best psychedelic trip of your life. They talk about the transformative potential of embracing discomfort during psychedelic journeys and why emotional safety is paramount to creating a real inner shift.
Instead of resisting or rejecting challenging experiences, what if we leaned into them? What if discomfort held the key to our deepest truths? Facing discomfort head-on can lead to the most extraordinary journey of self-discovery.
Here is a little overview of the content:
The ultimate trip is not an escape from reality but a journey back to ourselves.
We've all been conditioned to avoid discomfort, but what if discomfort was actually a guide, leading us back to our core?
Our journey into self-discovery often involves confronting suppressed emotions, traumas, and false identities.
Psychedelics offer a unique pathway to unearth these hidden truths and reconnect with our authentic essence.
Preparation for the Trip:
Before embarking on any psychedelic journey, it's crucial to prepare ourselves mentally, emotionally, and physically.
Setting intentions, choosing the right environment, and seeking support from experienced guides can enhance the depth and safety of our experience.
Surrendering to the Experience:
The essence of a transformative journey lies in surrendering to the unknown. Resistance only amplifies discomfort, while surrender opens the door to profound insights and healing.
However, it's essential to honor our own pace and process, allowing surrender to unfold naturally. Surrendering only happens when we feel emotionally safe.
That is where an experienced guide comes in to help.
Integration and Life Changes:
As we return from our psychedelic voyage, integration becomes paramount. Journaling, artistic expression, and meaningful conversations help us distill insights and incorporate them into our daily lives.
True transformation occurs when we have the courage to align our actions with our newfound truths.
Embracing Change:
Ultimately, the journey to self-discovery invites us to embrace change in all its forms. Whether it's letting go of relationships that no longer serve us, pursuing our passions, or creating environments that nourish our souls, every step towards authenticity brings us closer to inner liberation.
