If you didn’t get to join us live for our latest DENtalks LIVE with Paul Selig, then you’re in for a treat. In this episode we sit down live with Psychic and Award Winning Author, Paul Selig, to discuss his most recent channeled text, “Alchemy.” Paul shares with us how this book came about, how this experience was different from other books he’s dictated, how this book has shifted his reality, and he also reminds us that he is not the author of these books - the guides are. Paul and the guides offer insight into the shifts and transformations we are going through as a collective. How aspects of self and society must be brought to the light in order to transform. We discuss moving away from the structures we’ve inherited, how we can’t carry our baggage up to higher consciousness, what the guides refer to as the ‘upper room,’ and so much more. Paul channels the guides many times in this interview and they have a lot to share! Having Paul with us is always a very special experience, so grab a journal because trust us you will want to take notes on this one.

Christina is widely known for her work and has captured the auras of celebrities such as Chloe Sevigny, Gwenyth Paltrow, Busy Philips, and Zosia Mamet! She also just came out with her first book “Radiant Human” and is here to tell us all about it! We start off discussing her unusual childhood growing up in a commune and what eventually led her to pursue her art. If you don’t know much about aura photography and how it works or what it looks like but want to know more, definitely tune into this episode! Christina explains all about capturing energy, how the camera works and what different colors and textures can mean. This week Nichol Bradford, CEO & Founder of the Willow Group and the Executive Director and co-founder of the Transformative Technology Lab, joins us for a discussion on technology and human potential. If you’re wondering what technology possibly has to do with meditation, then this episode will be sure to enlighten you! Years ago, Nichol worked as CEO in the major gaming industry when she decided to spend her four weeks off at a vipassana meditation retreat in Japan. By the end of it, she walked out feeling deeply connected and asking herself how she could use her experience with technology to bridge a gap and make meditation and mental balance more accessible for all. With a surge of fearlessness, she moved to San Francisco, “the intersection of consciousness and tech,” and started working with other neuroscientists and wellbeing tech innovators who were studying the brain and the bio-states of people who were in these states. As they developed this research, they’ve been able to see why different techniques are important for each individual and how they can use technology to help people heal, grow, and prosper, both mentally and psychologically. We are so thrilled to have Nichol here to teach us all about her work, and we know you’ll be excited to learn about it too!

We are joined this week by Ana Lilia, a certified Breathwork Teacher and Intuitive Healer based out of Los Angeles. Ana is first generation Mexican and grew up with her family in Napa, CA. Ana shares how although they grew up in a beautiful idyllic town, her family life was difficult. Her father was an alcoholic and as the oldest of four girls, Ana took on a lot of responsibility at a young age. She shares very openly about the ups and downs of her childhood from being disappointed in her Catholic Church to how she would call on angels to help her to how anger was a very scary emotion for her. After being let go from her job, Ana felt herself falling into total victim mode, but luckily, her healing journey was about to begin. Through a friend, she ended up experiencing her first healing which led her down a path of forgiveness and trauma work and eventually she found herself in her first breathwork class. The rest was history. She started practicing breathwork for herself and noticed HUGE shifts in her own life which led her to begin to hold space for others. Ana is here to remind us how powerful our breath is and how easily we can access it's healing.
We are so excited to welcome back Julie Piatt, aka SriMati, to DENtalks this week to talk all about getting through tough financial times. As you may remember from our previous episode, Julie is not only a spiritual guide and teacher, but also a multi talented author, chef, and musician. What you might not know about her is that she actually started out in marketing and interior design before pursuing her art! Now, in light of recent events leaving a lot of people unemployed, we brought Julie back to talk to us more and offer insight on her family’s nine year financial struggle as they transitioned into new careers with four children. They decided the way through it was through the heart, and started pursuing the things they loved - even when it didn’t make sense! Both in their 40s, her husband started training in sports and she started recording music with her children. Julie talks about how changing her mindset turned her financial collapse into a spiritual challenge, and how taking on that perspective opened the door for new opportunities. She reminds us that our one mission in life is to access the depths of our hearts to find out who we are and share it with the world. If you’re one of the many people struggling to find out what path you are on, this is an episode you won’t want to miss!

The Chakra Girl soon turned into a well known platform for the modern spiritual woman who knows how to balance glamour and groundedness. We start this conversation discussing masculine energy vs feminine energy and then the different consciousness - 3D, 4D and 5D. Amber-Lee shares with us how she lives a fully accountable life and the blocks she's experienced when people are stuck in victim mode. Throughout this episode we dive deep into the intention behind creating the book, and how they hope this book will help support and change the lives of everyone who picks it up. Getting to our own truth and our own hurt so we can shift to greater connectedness and helping people find a new voice and a new way of speaking with compassion are two of the many ideas that are poured into this book. Not only do we get to know a lot about their work together, but we also get to learn a lot about how their friendship and working relationship came to be. However, he knew there was more out there for him. In this relatable episode, we dive into Jordans childhood from attending a small Montessori school to making the leap to public school which left him often feeling like an outsider. Who else can relate? It wasn't until he took a solo backpacking trip to Europe and (with no former writing experience) started a daily journal that he slowly started to understand who he was. This journal was the catalyst of his current career as a writer and editor and became his first book "Moment: To Whom It May Concern." Throughout this episode, Jordan shares many tips for discovering yourself which is what his forthcoming book "You Deserve This Sh!t" is all about. You even get to step into the daily journal routine of a professional writer! We know you’ve heard of an aura reading, but have you ever heard choosing your clothing based on it? This is exactly what Susanna Merrick, this week's DENtalks guest, does for a living. Merrick has been reading auras since she was just a little girl, but it wasn’t until she started Aura Wear NYC that she started pairing aura readings with styling sessions. If you’re wondering what kind of difference this can make in your life, Susanna is here to tell you. She believes we have the ability to control how people see and perceive us, and if we dress according to our auras we can use certain colors to express what we want to feel and bring an energy that can serve us. The goal is essentially to get the energy you’re expressing to the world to match your soul energy. Through this work, Susanna has left clients feeling inspired and empowered in their ability to manifest their purpose in life. In this episode, we’ll talk about how her upbringing influenced her gifts and the process of discovering and creating her business, Aura Wear. And if you just want to know more about how aura readings work, we’ll talk about that too! Be sure to stick around to the end of the episode when Susanna leads us in her personal practice.

Originally posted in 2019. It was such a powerful episode on gratitude that we felt it was fitting to bring it back again for Thanksgiving week this year.
In this week’s episode, we welcome back the highly skilled life coach, motivational speaker, and yoga/meditation teacher, Shannon Algeo, to talk to us about the practice of gratitude just in time for the holiday season. In this episode, Shannon talks to us about using gratitude as both a spiritual and mental health practice. He shares daily rituals you can use to implement gratitude and shows us how these rituals can cause a shift in perspective that can empower you. This is a great episode especially for someone battling with a lack mentality or negative thoughts to start small to create a big shift! Instead of ignoring or skipping intense emotions, we talk about how letting go of resistance and finding something small that is working in your life can develop mental resilience so you can shift from one state to another. We also talk about how gratitude can connect us back to our spiritual practice by coming from a place of understanding that everything is happening the way it needs to for you to learn and become your highest self. Join us after the episode as Shannon leads us into a gratitude meditation practice!
Includes 3 Little Things practice.
Joining us this week is model, mother, and creator and author of the Shift Stirrer Method, Tinamarie Clark! The Shift Stirrer Method is a 5 step mindfulness method that helps you turn negative thought patterns into more empowering ones which Tinamarie created to help her shift old patterns. However, it has since exploded into a widely known method in which Tinamarie helps others shift their perspective. This conversation gets candid very quickly as Tinamarie opens up about her recent depression. We discuss what her depression revealed to her, how depression is not a result of lack of gratitude, how it’s important to not douse situations with “love and light” but to really experience and feel the darker parts of life, what it means to own your awful, experiencing mommy guilt, and how she deals with shame. Don’t miss Tinamarie’s Personal Practice where she walks us through her 3 Little Things practice she can’t live without.
Includes a 10 min How to Be Your Own Guru Practice.
This week we are so excited to welcome Sah D’Simone to DENtalks podcast for an in-depth conversation on embracing our authentic selves. Sah is a spiritual guide, meditation teacher, transformational speaker and the international best-selling author of Spiritually Sassy: 8 Radical Steps to Activate Your Innate Superpowers. In this episode, we really get into why it’s important to find a spiritual path with both the heart and mind so that we are able to help others and cultivate compassion. If you or someone you know struggles with maintaining a positive mindset, or with the feeling of being ‘too much’ or ‘not enough,’ then you’re going to get a lot out of this episode! Sah talks to us about his own path to spirituality, and how growing up he felt the need to stifle himself and act a certain way to be accepted by his community. It wasn’t until he started to change his mindset and transform that belief that he was able to cultivate a sense of belonging in himself and then work to create that space for others as well. We’ll talk about why it’s so easy to get caught in negative thought patterns and why critical thinking can sometimes be counterproductive if it’s not orienting the mind towards the direction of the heart. We found Sah’s wisdom and guidance to be so helpful while navigating tumultuous times, and we hope you do too! Be sure to stay tuned after the episode for a 10 minute practice on how to be your own guru.

This week on DENtalks we are so excited to welcome Brooke Geahan to talk to us about bee venom therapy! If you’ve never heard of BVT, here’s your chance to hear all about it from the founder of The Heal Hive, the very first online bee venom therapy education platform. If you or someone you know suffers from an autoimmune disease or other chronic illness and has been unsuccessful with many medical and holistic treatments, you’ll definitely be interested in this episode! Brooke takes us through her journey of being diagnosed with Lyme disease and the many treatments she took to try and cure herself. It wasn’t until she had exhausted all her options and run out of money that a nurse told her about how she used bee venom to cure herself of Lyme. With the encouragement of her father, Brooke started the process and within one month of treatments, she was already seeing results, and within a year, she was almost fully recovered. But the healing didn’t stop there - we also talk about the emotional toll of having chronic illness and how a necessary part of the healing process comes from addressing the trauma of living with chronic pain. Brooke tells us how she had to change both her perspective and many of her lifestyle choices to become the person she is today. We learned so much from Brooke in this episode about bee venom therapy and the science behind it, and we hope you do too! At the end of episode Brooke will lead us in her personal practice - bee breath! Curious what that is? Stay tuned!
We're bringing back our DENtalks LIVE events but this time virtually! Join us this Saturday with Seane Corn to discuss Conspiracy Theories and Spirituality. Sign up here - https://www.denanywhere.com/offers/3etMcQK3/checkout

Includes Boye's favorite Bible verse.
This week we’re sitting down with Boye Fajinmi who is the Co-Founder & President of TheFutureParty, a community-based media brand that NVE Experience Agency acquired in 2018. This is a great conversation about being an entrepreneur, starting a business, learning how to pivot, and how to best serve your community. Boye who was born in Nigeria, has always had big ambitions, so he moved from Minnesota to Los Angeles to live the “American Dream.” He has always had a passion for media, content, music, and film so he quickly found himself working at companies like Paramount Pictures and WME, but he wanted more. Being a creative, he was craving telling stories on his own terms and wanted to bring together a community of like minded individuals who were all as driven and ambitious as he was - so TheFutureParty was born! Hear Boye tell the story of how TheFutureParty came to be from early days of throwing parties to being acquired in 2018 and turning into the media beast it is today. Community is everything for Boye, and he shares the philosophy momentum that he lives by, his thoughts on Millennials and Gen Z, and the generational shifts of fulfillment happening as we speak. We round out this episode with a very important and timely conversation on race and Boye shares very openly about his experiences being a Black man in America and business. Be sure to stay to the end of the episode as Boye reads his favorite Bible verse.

Includes a Quote on Kindness from Bianca.
This week we are excited to share Angalia Bianca's story who is the co-author and subject of “In Deep: How I Survived Gangs, Heroin, and Prison to Become a Chicago Violence Interrupter.” Bianca is one of Chicago’s most prominent outreach worker/violence interrupters and has a really fascinating and incredible story. For 36 years she was stuck in a cycle of homelessness and addiction, working as a con artist and career criminal. After serving 12 years in prison, her father’s death served as a wake up call and she decided to start using her personal experiences to help inner city youth and prevent gang violence. She talks with us about her childhood, her first experiences with heroin, her separation from her family and children, and her life in prison. She offers her advice on what you can do if you know someone struggling with addiction and tells us how saving someone’s life can be as simple as helping them find their untapped potential. Today, she has found a way to use her hustling skills and experiences on the street into positive negotiation skills for the greater good of the community. She made the decision to change her life and in doing so has saved so many others. We are honored to have her on the podcast and we know you will feel just as inspired by her story as we are!

We’re thrilled to welcome the Soulful Publicist, Tanya Khani, to DENtalks Podcast! Tanya is a good friend to The DEN and DENtalks as she represents some of our favorite guests, Shaman Durek, LaRayia Gaston of Lunch on Me, and Aarona Lea of The Moon Deck. Get to know Tanya deeper with us as we dive into her story and how she became the Soulful Publicist, hint hint she had NO idea she would end up in PR. Starting her career at Lululemon, Tanya had the opportunity to participate in the Landmark Training which changed the course of her life forever. After spending 7 years doing Emotional Intelligence training and working with Lululemon, Tanya found herself in New York feeling uninspired, “off,” and that nothing was going her way. That was until she spoke with her moms Astrologer who told her she needed to represent people and get into media. She shares all the details with us of her journey from intern, to now representing some of the biggest names in wellness. Tanya’s story is so relatable and we hope that through listening to her journey and her advice looking back that you too find a sense of hope that you will find your way. She shares some amazing tips for creating value and meaning in your life, to how to serve your gifts for others, to how to be a better intern, to how important it is to start from the bottom and build a foundation. This week we are thrilled to welcome Amy Elkins, President of Media & Marketing Innovation at STX, to the DENTalks podcast! If you’re a fan of reality TV, you might recognize Amy. Just last year she was on an episode of Khloe Kardashian’s Revenge Body, the TV series that uses personal trainers and stylists to give two individuals the ultimate interior and exterior makeover. In this episode, we’ll talk about her experience and takeaway from the show, as well as the pressures she faced growing up that influenced her weight gain. As a young athlete taking on four competitive sports, food became a method of self soothing and a way to ward off people’s expectations of her when she didn’t have the language or skills to advocate for herself. While surrounded by the support of well-intentioned people, Amy talks to us about why it’s so important to develop a mind-body awareness to the cause and effect of our decisions and the feelings those decisions bring up, in order to find a path to self empowerment. We’ll also talk about the expectations we set around women, how you can talk to your children about healthy choices, the all-too-common feeling of “imposter syndrome,” and what you can do to change your perspective when you’re stuck in a limited mindset.

Includes a Beauty Meditation.
This week we were given the opportunity to chat with Nadine Artemis, the creator of Living Libations, a line of organic and pure renegade beauty products! Nadine is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to health and beauty, and it all stems from her childhood immersed in nature and “mixing things together”. What started as a 9th grade science fair project making perfumes by mixing essential oils, later turned into a lifestyle as her interests carried her through college where she started making her own food and skin care products all while majoring in women’s studies. By age 22 she had opened up North America’s first full concept aromatherapy store and since then she has written two books: Holistic Dental Care: The Complete Guide to Healthy Teeth and Gums and most recently, Renegade Beauty: Reveal and Revive Your Natural Radiance--Beauty Secrets, Solutions, and Preparations, which offers a comprehensive guide for true health and wellness. This is the real deal, guys - Nadine knows the science behind her products and she wants to share it with you. We’ll talk the best ingredients for your skin, why sunblock can actually be harmful, things you can do to improve your dental health, and why eating organic and using natural labeled products might not be enough. Be sure to stick with us till the end where Nadine will lead us in her personal practice, a being beauty meditation.
Includes tips to understand your Natal Chart.
This week we welcome back our favorite astrologer, Gahl Sasson, to talk about all things Zodiac and Natal Charts! Now, this isn’t your typical astrology talk. Gahl is a wealth of information, so whether you’re just getting into astrology or if you’re a veteran, we guarantee you will learn something new from this conversation. What we love about Gahl is he brings in aspects from Kabbalah, different religions, past lives, and even Tarot when discussing astrology. Nothing is ever just from one point of view. Gahl helps us understand that we each have “everything” within us - all the signs, the planets, the houses, everything! If you don’t know what that means, don’t worry. He breaks down all the aspects of your natal chart into very simple terms. But we didn’t stop there! We discuss twins' charts and how Gahl believes they are lovers from past lives, practical ways to use your natal chart, the current astrology of the world, COVID-19, some predictions for the rest of the year, and more! If you want to dig deeper into your own Natal Chart - Gahl is hosting a special 4 week series on DENanywhere.com where YOU can learn to read your own natal chart! In this week’s DENtalks episode, we are thrilled for the opportunity to chat with author, speaker and musician Justin Michael Williams about his new book Stay Woke: A Meditation Guide for the Rest of Us. This is not your typical meditation book, and that’s what we love about it. Justin calls it a guide for creating your favorite recipe - a recipe for meditation practice, that is! He gives you the ingredients and you choose what to use and how much, to create a recipe you can adjust as your preferences of meditation change. This episode is all about empowering yourself to make your practice your own! We’ll also talk about how current events are encouraging people to do both internal and external work and why both are vitally important in order to take action for yourself, your family, your community and for those who cannot take action for themselves. Justin’s works are often described as the intersection of social justice, mindfulness and personal growth, and in this episode he shares his own personal experiences that lead him to teach his ideas and offer advice to those who are struggling and those who want to learn. We got so much out of this episode and know you will too! Stay tuned at the end of the episode as Justin leads us in a meditation to discover your unique energy signature!

Includes Amanda's favorite FREE wellness tools that YOU can use to better yourself.
We are SO lucky to have Founder of Moon Juice, Amanda Chantal Bacon, on DENtalks podcast today! As a young adult, Amanda was a self-proclaimed rebel. She spent years looking outside of herself for solutions only to be disappointed. After hearing there was little hope to improve a health condition, she set out on a quest to find her own solution. She discovered that lasting change required a renewed focus on diet, lifestyle, and spirit. Little did she know how this one act of defiance would lead her to become the founder of Moon Juice, a natural supplement, skin care, juice, basically all around badass wellness powerhouse company. It was both entrepreneurship and motherhood that helped Amanda embrace the notion of polarity, and with this acceptance about herself and the world, she is more equipped to move through life with ease. Join us to learn more about Amanda’s journey and how to become a better YOU.

We’re so excited to have Yoga and Meditation teacher AND new DEN teacher, DeAndre Sinette, with us this week on DENtalks Podcast! We get to know all sides of DeAndre in this episode as he vulnerably shares with us about his abusive upbringing and his lifelong struggle with suicidal depression. A southern boy at heart, DeAndre recently moved to Los Angeles and found himself living in a co-living space in Venice. We discuss what it was like to live in a conscious co-living space, the perceived expectations of what moving to LA would be like, how being a creative kid shaped him, how he has turned to music and mushrooms to help him heal his depression, how meditation and yoga have turned into a safe haven for him, and how for a long time he was rejecting his DNA as a black man and instead tried to fit in with the white community he was raised in. He shares how he sees that the systems in our country have programmed self hate into black communities and we must not stay neutral if we want real change to happen. Stick around for DeAndre’s short Yoga Nidra practice at the end of the episode.
If you’d like to go deeper with DeAndre, he is hosting a Yoga Nidra for Grounding workshop with us on DENanywhere.com on August 8th! All the information is here - https://www.denanywhere.com/offers/VmQmJoni/checkout. You don’t want to miss it!

This week we have a good friend of the DEN on the podcast, Chris Pan! Chris is a Harvard grad who began consulting for Fortune 100 CEO’s, then found himself working at Facebook, taught Mark Zuckerberg mandarin and retired at 35. We then get into how Mother Nature is giving us a timeout - pulling away distractions and helping us as a society see what is unhealthy and giving us the space to address it, the BLM movement and the incredible things Chris and MyIntent are doing to make healing and inner work accessible to black communities, how Chris uses plant medicine for healing, ways that Chris “takes out the garbage” and gets rid of negativity in his life, finding faith in times of uncertainty, and the depths of the human spirit. You will also get to learn about Chris’s childhood and how moving to Ohio when he was 7 years old speaking no English and being the only asian kid in his class would shape him and the way he works for the rest of his life. We get into everything in this episode, from how he got into music, to how Justin Bieber inspired him to create healing music, to how T-Pain helped him discover he could use his own voice on songs, to the lessons he has learned around using deep lyrics vs catchy party songs. We are very excited to welcome our dear friend, Ria Ray to this week’s episode of DENtalks Podcast! Ria Ray is an artist, spiritual healer, and clairvoyant. She discovered her gift after a tragic accident took her family in 1997 and she was forced to look within to find healing and greater purpose in her life. We talk about the first time she discovered her abilities when she inhabited the body of another person and took on all their insecurity and doubt, how that transfer of energy and empathy happens and who is more open and susceptible to it. Since Ria believes we all have the ability to heal should we choose to cultivate it, we’ll also talk about how to work on your own self love and healing, what you should look for in a potential spiritual teacher and how they might not be who you expect, as well as following your destiny should you feel called to heal others. This episode will provide a lot of insight on how to recover and even thrive after experiencing tragedy in your life. Ria will then lead us into a breath meditation at the end of the episode to help shift your energy to become more present and let go of whatever isn’t serving you.

We are so excited to share a new episode with one of our very own DEN Teachers, Carolyn Coleridge! Carolyn is a trained psychotherapist, energy healer, practicing intuitive, author of three books, has a psychic and counseling practice and works at Kaiser and UCLA. She shares with us her thoughts on the current state of the world from COVID-19, to George Floyd’s death, to the Black Lives Matter movement and how a lot of the issues we are facing are due to the fact we as a society have normalized things that aren’t right. We should all be expecting shifts, changes, and movement during this time. Carolyn speaks a lot about the connection between the divine feminine and masculine energy, how we must pay attention to the “mother” right now, focus on coming back to center, reconnecting with ourselves and Mother Earth, and how a lot of spiritual contracts are coming up for people right now. She even shares the self care she’s been focusing on to help her through these difficult times. But this episode is not all about darkness! Carolyn shares how we can harness the energy of these times to find our true purpose and be a part of the solution and the change in the world. At the end of the day, we are all living through history and Carolyn really breaks it all down through an intuitive lens.

We've decided this week to reboot another one of our favorite episodes with a an incredibly influential voice right now, Lalah Delia.
Today we have spiritual writer, certified spiritual practitioner, and founder of Vibrate Higher Daily, a vibrational based–living online community and mentoring program, Lalah Delia on DENtalks Podcast! Lalah opens up and shares her story of making a conscious shift from showing up without power in relationships to breaking out of the cycle of abuse. Once she realized that she needed to have her own needs met before she could share herself with others, then, and only then, could she take a step on the ladder toward self-actualization. Her fascinating journey reminds us of our shared humanity as so many of us struggle to recognize our own self worth or have the courage to stand in our power. She also beautifully reminds us that everything is energy, and how important it is to pay attention to our bodys lower and higher energy. Her personal practice speaks from her heart; she leaves us with an inspirational quotation from her book. Don’t miss Lalah’s amazing journey back to herself.

We've decided this week to reboot one of our favorite episodes with former Neo-Nazi leader, Christian Picciolini, in hopes of spreading hope about society that people CAN in fact change.
**Need resources? Check out our IG highlight for resources and ways you can get involved.
In this week’s episode we cover a controversial topic with Christian Picciolini – an author, public speaker, musician and former neo-Nazi leader. After leaving the white supremacist movement he helped create when he was just 16 years old, Christian started dedicating his career to helping others overcome their own hate. He is now co-founder of the nonprofit Life After Hate and founder of the Free Radicals Project, a network of people who are working to prevent extremism and help people leave extremist groups. Christian talks to us about his childhood and how he was recruited into the Neo-Nazi movement, which often targets vulnerable young men with broken promises of power and a sense of belonging. As we live in a society that’s quick to shame and condemn extremists as irredeemable, Christian shares with us why he finds this to be ineffective, and how extending compassion towards someone who may not deserve it might be the only way to create real change. We talk about the importance of community, identity and purpose as our most fundamental needs and how people are recruited into hate groups less because of ideology or dogma, but rather because of a broken search for identity. Stay tuned for the end of the episode, where Christian closes our discussion by reading an excerpt from his book, “White American Youth.”

REPOST - Original episode released Aug 7, 2018.
Given the current state of our country, we felt it was necessary to bring back this very powerful and moving episode with Black Lives Matter Greater New York Founder, Hawk Newsome. It is so important for us all to educate ourselves and use our voices during this time and our hope is that this episode with Hawk can be a helpful resource to our community.
**Need resources? Check out our IG highlight for resources and ways you can get involved.
We are honored to have activist and founder of Black Lives Matter Greater New York, Hawk Newsome, is with us this week on DENtalks. He’s been called the next Martin Luther King Jr. as he is determined to lead the Black Lives Matter movement with love. Hawk has dedicated his adult life to the betterment of his community and our nation as a whole by bringing justice to an unjust system. Prior to founding Black Lives Matter Greater New York, he was a member of Justice League NYC. Not only has he helped victims of police brutality, he works with members of LGBT community, and victims of human trafficking. Over the past few years, he has worked tirelessly seeking justice for the families of those slain by police officers. He’s a Christian and he leans neither right nor left, instead he chooses to follow his heart and leads with love, compassion and kindness. Hawk sheds light on subjects some find difficult to discuss, including white privilege and his own anger. He is starting the necessary dialogue for change, and shows us how we all need to live through love.

We’re so excited to have Wellness Entrepreneur and Founder of Gaia Collective and Moonbox, Paula Pavlova, on DENtalks Podcast! Paula is a long time friend of The DEN and it was so fun to have her on the podcast while she was in town. Paula was on a mission to figure out what was going on with her body, after countless failed doctor visits and failed attempts to figure out “the problem,” she ended up self diagnosing with Endometriosis. Finally having a diagnosis was only the first step in her long but impactful journey toward healing. She shares about her experiences with both Eastern and Western doctors and techniques, the traps she felt she put herself into spiritually, how important it is for women to know pain while menstruating is NOT normal, how we hold trauma in the body, the awareness we all must have when it comes to numbing ourselves from our emotions, and the importance of fully feeling and processing painful experiences.

For our last episode of our COVID-19: Perspective Series, we invited Nurse Akal to join us. Akal is a seasoned yoga practitioner, kundalini instructor and mother of two, who literally understands what it means to have balance. Like most of us, she reached a point in her career when she began to have doubts. She yearned for more, perhaps a life of yoga and world travel. Fortunately for us, Akal had the courage to bloom right where she is planted, which happened to coincide with one of our most unique and challenging times in world history. As we speak, Akal is working as a nurse on the front lines helping Covid-19 patients during their time of need, and like many healthcare professionals, this pandemic has given her a renewed sense of purpose. This shift from doubt to certainty has confirmed that she is exactly where she is supposed to be: in the role of what she now calls “service leadership.” Join us to hear more of this modern-day hero’s story.

We feel so fortunate to have Founder of Lunch On Me, LaRayia Gaston, back on DENtalks Podcast for our COVID-19 Perspective Series. LaRayia is a dear friend of DENtalks Podcast, if you haven’t listened to her solo episode which was #19,, please do yourself a favor and go back and listen to it. She has changed the perspective of all of us here at DENtalks forever and we know it will impact you equally. In this episode, we dive into how she is seeing COVID-19 affect the homeless community or “our street family” as LaRayia says, and it is not good. LaRayia shares that she has seen more kids in skid row and more people who aren’t necessarily homeless or who were homeless before coming to their feedings. She also shares that she sees a bigger issue at play here - how as humans this kind of separation is not what we’re accustomed to, how taxing this isolation is on people’s mental health, how there are many people struggling / dealing with more than just COVID-19 right now, how many non-profits aren’t working right now so the community’s minimum needs aren’t being met, and the overall sadness she feels and sees throughout Skid Row. This episode shines a light onto some of the deeper issues coming out of this pandemic, but LaRayia also has a way of bringing positivity to these hard times. She stresses the importance of letting go of some of the heaviness and how we need laughter and joy more than ever right now. She is a true ray of light!! There are many ways we can all help you - we’ve listed a few that LaRayia mentions in this episode. Anything and everything counts!

This week we’re looking at COVID-19 and the state of the world through an Eastern medicine lens by talking to Acupuncturist, Chinese Herbalist, and Functional Medicine practitioner, Dr. Ryan Monahan! Dr. Monahan discusses the ways in which Eastern medicine takes a different approach to Western medicine by looking to nourish life, strengthen, and build (as opposed to Western approach looking for things to kill and destroy), how eastern and functional medicine practices don’t “treat” diseases but “treat” the person and how there isn’t a focus on fixing symptoms but getting to the root cause. However, he does note that both Western and Eastern medicine are useful especially when used in an integrated way. He explains COVID-19 through an Eastern Medicine perspective and gives specific Chinese Herbal formulas that he has been using to help treat patients and the formulas they’ve been using in China for COVID-19 specifically. But whats even more fascinating about this conversation, is how he explains the connection between us and nature and how stress (real or perceived) affects the body. Dr. Monahan touches on the chaos of our current world, but says that within chaos exists all possibilities. If you’re curious about alternative approach to medicine and want recommendations that YOU can do to help build you immune system and improve your digestion, this is the episode for you!

This week, for the fourth part of our COVID-19 series, we welcome back best-selling author and psychic Laura Day to DENtalks Podcast to talk about how to use your intuition and discipline during this tough time. While the temptation for many of us in a crisis is to let go of the difficult things, Laura tells us why this is actually the best time to be breaking old unconscious habits and make determined change. Since all of our patterns have been disrupted anyway, now is the time to create something new. We talk about how everyone has a different way of reacting - with anger, anxiety, denial or depression - and how important it is to identify your reaction so your brain can adapt and life can go on. By doing this, you can transform your anger into passion, fear into awareness and denial into effectiveness. We talk about how setting intentions and preparing for the future from the Now will help you find purpose and your real goals will become apparent. If you’re looking for ways to grow and adapt throughout this crisis, Laura will help you find the tools to do so. Lucky for us, Laura is hosting a VIRTUAL WORKSHOP with us this FRIDAY May 1st @ 12pm PST - “How To Rule the World From Your Couch” it’s going to be very special. This week is our third episode of our COVID-19: Perspective Series. In this episode, we sit down with one of our first DEN instructors, author and spiritual advisor Chandresh Bhardwaj to talk about COVID-19 from a spiritual perspective. Because we are living in a time where there is a collective energy of anxiety, anger and pain, Chandresh talks to us about how it’s now more important than ever to give a conscious outlet to our feelings and expression. For many people, there will be pressure to avoid negative feelings and focus on the positive, but this will actually cause feelings to come back and multiply. So how can we deal with it instead? We talk about how having reverence for both the dark and light energy can help you reframe this experience to cultivate gratitude and trust. This is the time to let go of ego trips and grudges, to respect your existence and mother nature. Chandresh explains how creating this trust will help you to understand your existence beyond the body, and beyond the emotions and thoughts that are running in you so you can realize your own strength. After the episode, Chandresh leads us into a five minute “Who Am I” meditation practice to help you feel more grounded.

We are SO lucky to have a western doctor join us for another episode of our COVID-19: Perspective Series. Our intention with this series is to bring you unique conversations with people who bring different perspectives to the table about the current state of the world. Last week we spoke with Rabbi Wolpe and this week we are honored to have Dr. Stephanie, a Critical Care Pulmonologist who works in Portland, Oregon, with us on #DENtalksPodcast. If you want to know the nitty gritty details about the virus and how it’s affecting our health care system, this is the episode for you! Dr. Stephanie shares with us what her and her team have been experiencing over the last few months from when they first started to hear about the virus back in December 2019, to the care they are providing today. She discusses how the virus affects your lungs, how they are seeing universally low oxygen levels present in all patients who are hospitalized, debunks the use of Hydroxychloroquine as a “cure” to the virus, breaks down what happened in Italy and how by social distancing we are not stopping the virus in its tracks but we are helping the health care system get to a place where it can help those we are sick instead of being overwhelmed with mass numbers of people. This is an episode filled with HOPE and POSITIVITY as Dr. Stephanie shares with us how she feels we are in a much better position now than we were weeks ago, how new information is being discovered daily, how people are sharing information more openly than ever before in the medical field, and how hospital staff have banned together in an “all hands on deck” mentality to rework systems and volunteer extra time to be sure that everyone gets the care they need. She shares with us how she has seen nurses and doctors show an overwhelming amount of care and support to their patients and how she believes that this crisis is making us all realize the importance of community and that we are all much closer than we think. This is a very special look into the inner workings of today’s hospitals and how our healthcare system is fighting COVID-19!

Introducing - COVID-19: Perspective Series. For the month of April, DENtalks Podcast episodes will be devoted to discussing COVID-19 through different perspectives. We feel it is extremely important to discuss the global pandemic but in a way that spreads a sense of calm and peace. Many of us are dealing with anxiety and trying to fill our time with purposeful activities, so we wanted to make sure that our podcast can help aid with whatever you are going through during this time. We are all in this together. Our first series guest is a dear friend of the podcast, Rabbi David Wolpe. To learn more about this incredible man, go back and listen to his first podcast with us episode #32 - it’s a great one. Today, Rabbi Wolpe joins us to discuss COVID-19. As a leader in the community, Rabbi Wolpe shares with us the ways that he has been continuing to spread joy during this time. He talks about the importance of learning how to smile at ourselves when we’re alone, keeping traditions alive, being flexible with change, and finding the resources within OURSELVES to make us happy, calm, and content. Rabbi Wolpe also shares the 3 lessons he believes we are supposed to be learning from this pandemic. He also recommends that everyone should be journaling at this time because we are living through history and he predicts it will be hard to look back and comprehend what our current reality is - we couldn’t agree more! We even discuss the positive impact social media is having on the community, how we are moving away from superficial content and leaning into deeper more impactful conversations. There are so many positive takeaways from this episode that we can all turn towards during this time! If you have any questions or want to join a community, please join our Facebook group, DENtalks Podcast, where we will be discussing these episodes and supporting each other through any difficulty that arises.

Includes a T.S Eliot Quote.
This week we are thrilled to welcome Mike Bender to the DENtalks podcast. This episode touches on the importance of embracing nothingness and living in the moment, which all of us are faced with currently. You may know Mike as the writer of “Not Another Teen Movie,” or the author of two children’s books, or perhaps as the genius behind the hilarious blog “Awkward Family Photos.” Given the list of Mike’s many creative endeavors, we have A LOT to talk about in this episode. When Mike first started “Awkward Family Photos” in 2009 he was still working as a writer in Hollywood, but the immediate response to the website inspired him to go with the momentum and 11 years later, it has continued its legacy and even expanded into a docuseries AND touring museum! Mike talks with us about what inspired him to create Awkward Family Photos as well as the transition of an unexpected career change and how it altered his perspective to embrace ‘nothingness’ and live in the moment. We also talk about his diagnosis of Lyme disease and a program he’s been working to manage his symptoms called Dynamic Neural Retraining System. If you are suffering from any chronic illness such as depression, food sensitivities, PTSD, lyme disease etc, Mike explains to us how the DNRS program works to alleviate trauma in the limbic system and regain the building blocks that are needed for healing. Much like the Law of Attraction, we can actually rewire our brains with our thoughts so they stop triggering the neural pathways that cause us harm. At the end of the episode, Mike shares with us his favorite T.S. Eliot quote he uses as a reminder to embrace endings in life as something beautiful.

This week we are bringing you our go to Spiritual Guide for Surviving Quarantine with three of our favorite ladies - Mama Medicine aka Deborah Hanekamp, Feng Shui expert Meghan Wallace James, and Crystal Queen Colleen McCann. We first chat with Deborah Hanekamp who reveals to us the shift in the collective aura color she is seeing and how we must all focus on gentleness, softness, and returning to the womb right now. So many of us are trying to do all the things and have intense at home routines, but Deborah says this is not what we need right now and that in fact the Earth wants us to take better care of ourselves. She teaches us to look at the things in our home as healing tools, to use items in our kitchen to create beautiful ritual baths, and how we can give back to the Earth right now. We then chat with Meghan Wallace James who gives us many practical feng shui tips to balance the energy in our homes. She shares with us the three earth areas of the home - Love, Wisdom, and Health, that we should be focusing on right now and how to infuse these areas with earth items. She encourages us all to indulge intentionally, to make new dedicated spaces for creativity for ourselves and our children, and teaches us how to find a sense of calm by working with lines of sight in your home. We then finish the episode with Colleen McCann who is the first person we call when we need the 411 on anything crystals. She gives us the inside scoop on what crystals we should be working with for things like anxiety, clarity, immunity boosting, lung function, organizing - you name it she has a crystal for it. She then shares with us how to use these crystals, if their size matters, where to put them, and how to cleanse them. She even gives us a very important practice we can all do before bed that releases the energy of the day before you go to sleep. This episode is FILLED with practical tips and tricks that we can use right now to help us spiritually survive this COVID-19 quarantine. We hope you are all staying safe and healthy, love your DENtalks Podcast family.

After several years in a high-pressure position in the music industry, Megan Monahan went in search of a life with more balance. She left the car-culture of Los Angeles and headed south to the coastal retreat of San Diego. Away from the urban sprawl, Megan was able to destress and immerse herself in her own healing at the Chopra Center of Wellbeing. The teachings resonated, and Megan knew something had shifted within, including the ability to practice forgiveness and love unconditionally. She continued her studies under the tutelage of Dr. Chopra and became a certified instructor in Sound Meditation. Megan is the author of Don’t Hate, Meditate and continues to teach meditation and yoga to help others transform their lives. We are so lucky to have her with us at The DEN for a light hearted conversation about meditation, forgiveness, and finding inner calm.

We had the pleasure of gathering with our “go to” experts when it comes to the topic of love and relationships for our latest DENtalks LIVE panel on SOULMATES. We were joined by Ryan Weiss - Life coach and Spiritual Counselor, Jill Willard - Intuitive, Medium, Meditation Leader and author, and Katherine Woodward Thomas - NY Times Bestselling Author, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, and Transformative Educator. Each guest shared their unique insights about what a soul mate is and how we attract different soul mates depending on where we are at in life. More importantly, they offered practical tips for those in search of a soul mate connection by reminding us that this quest is often more about “ourselves being the one” rather than “finding the one.” This panel is filled with a multitude of lessons, but one shines through it all - If we can cultivate joy within ourselves and evolve into our own maturity, this is when our light shines and we thus attract the right soul mate who is meant for our soul growth.

We’re delighted to have Katie Kyleen Sabbaghian calling in from Arizona to speak with us on DENtalks Podcast! Katie is a spiritual psychologist and a soul healer who shares her fascinating story of self healing and recovery after receiving an alarming medical diagnosis. She describes how she sought solutions outside of herself, from traditional medicine to alternative healing modalities, to no avail. It was only in a moment of complete surrender that allowed her to invoke divine assistance. Kate struggled to understand this “spiritual intervention,” which led her to more formal study and ultimately a Master’s in Spiritual Psychology. Learn how Katie came out of this crisis with a deeper understanding, and perhaps a new definition, of what it means to experience a miracle. She now calls this healing, Gateway Healing, and works with individuals to help them release energetic blockages and use breath and a connection to spirit to improve their lives.
You too can learn how to heal yourself through Gateway Healing at The DEN! Katie will be coming to Los Angeles and hosting pop ups in March and April all leading us to a Gateway Healing Certification in Los Angeles at The DEN April 25 - 26th. This week we are honored to welcome Sophia Ruan Gushée, a sought after toxic exposures expert also known as a “clean living guru” all the way from New York! Sophia first cultivated an interest in researching toxic exposures simply as a mom trying to find safe products for her children. But she didn’t stop there! Eight years of research later, she bravely self published her first book “A to Z of D-Toxing: The Ultimate Guide to Reducing Our Toxic Exposures” in 2015. What we love most about Sophia is that she advocates for practical nontoxic living, recognizing that everyone is going to be different in what they’re willing to give up, and balance is key, as it is impossible to live completely non toxic. Are you looking for guidance as to what you can do to reduce toxins in your everyday life? This episode is for you! And if you’re hesitant to make any big changes, that’s okay too! Sophia shares with us some really simple, small things you can do, like putting your phone in airplane mode while you sleep or making sure to ventilate while cooking on the stove. We’ll focus on the four different pillars of exposure where you have control - your indoor home environment, diet, self care, and radiation from technologies. We’ll talk about what to avoid and the not-so-obvious things to pay attention to. There really is something for everyone to take away from this episode, so be sure to check it out! After the episode, Sophia will share with us her personal practice which is a beautiful Gratitude practice she does at home.

She also beautifully reminds us that everything is energy, and how important it is to pay attention to our body's lower and higher energy. Her personal practice speaks from her heart; she leaves us with an inspirational quotation from her book. Don’t miss Lalah’s amazing journey back to herself.

This week we welcome back one of our favorites, Jon Paul Crimi, a well-known breathwork teacher and transformational coach, as well as Founder & CEO of the sober coaching business Total Life Solution. In this episode, Jon Paul shares with us the experience that made him leave behind his dreams of Hollywood to pursue breathwork as a career path. While initially resistant due to his aversion to New Age concepts (he still claims he’s not “woo woo”, we beg to differ), he attended a class and felt an undeniable connection and release from years of emotional trauma. It then became his mission to share his experience and make breathwork meditation accessible to people who would not normally attend classes that came across as “woo-woo.” We’ll also talk about the importance of asking for help when overcoming addiction and trauma to find self-love, and the willingness to let go of where you think you should be to get to where you’re supposed to be. If you’re looking for a no-nonsense approach for how to create change in your life, Jon Paul will show you how to do the work. Stay tuned after the episode as Jon Paul leads us into a heart prayer as his personal practice! Also be sure to check out his online certification on DenAnywhere.com. We have a very special episode for all you ladies (and men with lady friends) out there… This week we have the one and only author, creatrix, yoga teacher, therapist, and overall badass woman - Lisa Lister on DENtalks! We’ve been waiting to do this episode for almost a year and it was well worth the wait. Travelling all the way from Europe, Lisa joins us in Los Angeles for a conversation all about honoring your womanhood. Lisa comes from a lineage of gypsys and is the author of Witch, Code Red, and Love Your Lady Landscape and offers a safe space of support, guidance, and tools for women who are exploring their cyclic nature. Lisa shares with us her journey to reconnecting with her body after being diagnosed with PCOS and Endometriosis, which eventually led her down a path of helping other women reconnect with their womanhood. We discuss the history of the period, how women were known as goddesses for being fertile and creating life, the eventual dismantling of the goddess, the introduction of the patriarchy and the structures it has instilled on us today, how our menstrual cycle is connected to the moon cycle, when in our menstrual cycle we are most intuitive, and how your womb is an oracle if you are open and connected. If you want to reconnect to the goddess within you then don’t miss Lisa’s Personal Practice where she guides us through a beautiful Womb Connection Meditation that you can do at home!

We’ve been lucky enough to have Gahl on the show twice before - episode 27 and episode 80, if you haven’t listened to those be sure to check them out to hear Gahl’s full story. We jump right into it starting with a deep conversation about the Chinese New Year, the significance of the Year of The Metal Rat, how January 1st isn’t as important as we think it is and how the New Moon in Aquarius is the real beginning of the year according to many different traditions. Gahl gives us practical ways we can all use astrology in our own lives and emphasizes the importance of awareness and oneness. He even relates astrology to google maps, we know our destination and astrology will lay out different ways to get there but ultimately it is up to us to choose which path to take to get there. Have questions about the moon cycle? Lucky for us, Gahl walks us through the different moon cycles and what is best to do during each cycle - start something new on the new moon, rest on the full moon, and give bad news during the moon void of course. He even warns us not to get married from May 13th - June 25th this year because Venus is in Retrograde! This episode is filled with practical tips to incorporate astrology into your ever day life. Be sure to stick around to the end of the episode because Gahl shares a mind blowing prediction of humans convergence with Artificial Intelligence… Be sure to try Gahl’s Astrology Activation Meditation at the end of the episode.

This week we are excited to sit down with one of our very own DEN teachers, Laurasia Mattingly. Laurasia started out at The DEN as a volunteer at the front desk and through determination to grow and follow her joy, she became a certified meditation/mindfulness teacher and reiki master and now teaches regularly at The DEN. In this episode, we talk about what drew her to develop her spiritual practice and the series of events that brought her to the DEN after studying for a career in broadcast journalism. She shares with us how the loss of her mother unconsciously lead her down a path of reckless behavior and self numbing and how discovering meditation and mindfulness brought awareness to what she was doing so she could begin the healing process. We talk more about the experience of losing a loved one and how to support someone going through it, as well as her philosophy on manifestation and intention setting, and her experience with adoption and the expectation that comes with labels. If you’re looking for ideas on how to manifest and practice gratitude in the midst of personal struggles, or even just hear more insight from one of your favorite DEN instructors, then this is a great episode for you! Stay tuned after the episode as Laurasia leads us into a Loving Kindness/Self Compassion meditation.

Includes a Passage from Christian's book - "White American Youth"
REBOOT EPISODE - this is one of our favorite episodes we've ever recorded! It was previously episode #2 so we decided to bring it back over the holiday season. It is a very powerful and important conversation - one that will inspire you in a multitude of ways and give you hope. Happy Holidays x DENtalks Podcast team

Includes one of Jedidah's favorite poems.
We have a very special guest this week, travel writer, public speaker, and the author of “To Shake The Sleeping Self, Jedidah Jenkins, is with us on #DENtalksPodcast! This episode is a treat, we dig into Jedidah’s memoir of his 14,000 mile cycling trip from Oregon to Patagonia and the surprising (or not so surprising) lessons that came out of this brave adventure. Jedidah jumps right into some heavy topics such as the stages of enlightenment, dismantling the order we’ve been taught as children, questioning his strong Christian faith, navigating being a gay Christian, how the Discovery Channel was an outlet for his childhood curiosity, his internal experience in the Mexican desert alone with his bike, his perspective on social media and travel today, and even his theory on time. This episode has so many incredible takeaways, but one of the biggest lessons Jedidah shares is how a journey like the one he took, really do work in impacting and changing your life forever. It may not be on your expected timeline, but the journey is always working within you. For our latest DENtalks LIVE event, we were very fortunate to have Shaman Durek join us to celebrate his Spirit Hacking Book Launch! We dive right into it with him, discussing topics such as realizing your own power and purpose, the more effective way to create social change, and the power behind our thoughts and words. We also talk about how being aware of our expectations and how things ‘should’ be can help us accept what is actually right in front of us - and how sometimes, the very things we want to change in people, we actually end up reinforcing by putting them into boxes and making negativity have an even more active response in their life. Shaman Durek shares with us some very specific, insightful ideas as to how we can create change in people and communities around us by instead setting up a space for love and growth. The underlying theme throughout our conversation is seeing things through the lens of love instead of fear. This talk will especially resonate for those looking to get out of a victim mentality and create positive change in both their own lives and the lives of others. Stay tuned for our Q&A and a meditation led by Shaman Durek to lift your spirits and increase your power.

Emily is an inspiring example of following your path and intuition even when it leads you in a different direction than planned. She tells us stories from her first experiences in L.A. trying to make money, starting with small steps such as posting flyers for private yoga lessons. It wasn’t long after that she decided to focus all her energy on opening her own studio with her co-founder, Deena Robertson. Modo Yoga started originally in Canada and has over 80 locations worldwide, all with individual owners who collectively meet every year to create a like-minded community focused on acceptance and diversity. Includes The Circle Ritual - nine elements to help engage your intuition.
We are thrilled to welcome best-selling author and psychic, Laura Day, to talk to us about the intuitive and healing abilities that exist in all of us! Laura describes her “day job” as working with companies to predict markets, decide who to hire, and any other changes that will help improve their business. With over 40 years in the “industry” Laura really knows what she’s talking about and she even shares some funny stories about the odd things companies have asked her to do or search for. However, she finds the most important and joyful part of her work to be helping both individuals and companies realize their own intuitive abilities through the workshops she teaches. We talk about the importance of creating community and plugging into that interconnectedness to find healing through each other. If you’re wondering how you can start using your own intuitive abilities, we discuss a process called “embodiment,” where you ask questions to identify your goal or wish and then run an experiment to see where your mind goes. Understanding how embodiment works and using mindfulness to be more fully in “you” can help with anxiety, depression, weight loss and more! Stick around to the end where she walks us through the rest of her personal practice called “The Circle,” which uses nine elements to help engage your intuition!

We chat about all things food, health, and wellness on this episode but there is NO subscribing to a specific diet here. Cassandra does NOT believe in labels but that we should all be listening to our own bodies on a day to day basis and basing our eating choices off of what our individual bodies tell us. She shares so many tips on being your own food investigator, how to properly do an elimination diet to get to a root cause of discomfort, how your period affects your eating, and even the meaning behind your food cravings - for example, if you’re craving foods like salty potato chips or something spicy, that might mean you’re really craving more fun in your life. Cassandra even shares what it means in her life to live intentionally from setting an intention before a car ride to using your shower as an energy cleanser. This episode is full of so many great takeaways and a few challenges for you to try at home! Don’t miss Cassandra’s Personal Practice which is an Inner Rockstar Meditation at the end of the episode.

We’re talking CBD today with Mowellens Founder, Amy Duncan, but trust us this conversation is way more than your average THC vs CBD conversation. From wanting to be a pharmacist at a young age to now owning a successful CBD company - Amy has always had a love for science, wellness, and a self proclaimed knack for simplifying complex topics. She is a successful entrepreneur but life hasn’t always been so easy. A year into her marriage they found a tumor in her husband’s brain. After years of battle, the tumor finally went away only to then return again in 2016, however this triggered an interest in how CBD could be used to heal and Amy started making her own tinkershires that turned into her own CBD company, Mowellens. She breaks down what CBD is, how it affects our bodies, tips on how to incorporate CBD in your everyday life from your latte to your skincare, the importance of listening to your intuition, and prevailing past negativity to follow your passion. Don’t miss Amy’s Personal Practice where she shares a mantra she lives by everyday.
Includes Partial Truth teaching.
We are so grateful to have Orthodox Rabbi, teacher, and Zionist settler, Rabbi Hanan Schlesinger, all the way from Israel on DENtalks Podcast today. Growing up in New York during the 60’s and consuming vast amounts of Jewish history, tradition and knowledge, Rabbi Hanan knew he wanted to be ‘center stage’ in recreating Jewish destiny. That began not only with a return to Israel (where he has now resided for 40 years), but also with breaking down his own walls and barriers to understanding the Palestinian people - whom at one very distinctive point which he shares with us, Rabbi Hanan realized that he had never seen the Palestinian’s as people at all. Five years ago, he co-founded “Friends of Roots”, which aims to foster understanding and transformation among Israelis and Palestinians. Rabbi Hanan is doing incredible things to better our world one step at a time and it is an honor for him to share his story and his will to change with us today. He also touches on the mystic teachings that there are “sparks of truth” everywhere, and his goal is to collect those sparks from people all around the world to create change, and forge a new way of thinking and behaving. You don’t want to miss this episode.

This week, we are thrilled to talk to the founders of Elevate the Globe, Tara Schulenberg and Britt Deanda on DENtalks Podcast! After going their separate ways in early adulthood, they had no idea that their own spiritual awakenings would one day lead them back together to start a lifestyle movement with Kundalini yoga and meditation. We discuss about how you can use Kundalini as a foundational base to utilize and shift your energy so it’s focused and channeled to serve you in the best way. Are you feeling stuck in victim mode or run by your emotions? Do you have trouble trusting your intuition and feeling empowered? Then this episode is for you! Find out how you can use the power of your mindset in conjunction with energy healing to get out of low frequency patterns and move in the direction you want to go in! Be sure to stick around at the end of the episode as Tara and Britt lead us in a Kundalini meditation.

Davidji shares with us his own spiritual journey, which was sprinkled with what he refers to as “butterfly moments”, and sparked by a powerful pattern interrupt which began a life changing awakening. Davidji dives into the belief that all things are predetermined, but as he explains even in that belief lies the freedom of choice. We chat about the importance of not only reflecting on our actions and behavior (he even talks about how to gain spiritual lessons from reality tv), the ability we all have to revisit and try to do better, and how important it is to own all we have done in order to fully step into our power. If you have ever doubted your meditation practice or thought squeezing in a short practice wasn’t worth it, Davidji provides insight on the benefits of even the briefest, 16 seconds to be exact, meditation or daily practice can ground us and enrich our lives. How does she balance a high pressure job while being a yogi? Well, we touch a lot on the idea of increasing our capacity through yoga, meditation, and Ayurvedic practices to help us stay grounded and balance the two worlds, which in fact Felicia argues shouldn’t have to be separate. She believes we must all integrate our practices into our everyday lives and has many helpful tips on how you can do this too. In this week’s episode, we’re talking with major girlboss Sophia Rossi about work, life transitions, and how we can integrate spirituality across it all. A former producer of The Hills, Sophia has been no stranger to kicking butt at anything she does. But after the company she founded alongside Zooey Deschanel and Molly McAlleer, HelloGiggles, successfully sold, she found herself slightly lost for what was next, and reevaluating exactly where she found value. We talk about how both her Jewish roots and Transcendental Meditation practice have shaped her perspective and regular rituals (including the ability to turn her phone off and set harder boundaries), the power of positivity and community online, and ultimately how to go through challenging times and honor your experience on the other side.

Includes quote by Maya Angelou which you can always come back to.
We now call her the Queen of Quotes and we are so happy she came to chat with us. Actress Sarah Shahi, mom of 3, has more references and a perfect quote for every situation. As a regular client of the DEN we knew we had to get deep with her on DENtalks. You would never guess by how well read she is (and all the quotes) that it was only 3 years ago, with the death of her father, that she really started honing in on her studies of spirituality. However, when looking back, she shares some crazy stories that illuminate that she really has had a connection with the beyond from a very young age. We also dig in to the mainstream stuff, like how hard it is to balance a family, career and marriage - she has had to learn to let go and trust that through some of the most insane twists and turns, and what the outside world may perceive as fascinating choices, she is in fact, exactly where she needs to be. She shares how her kids are her biggest spiritual teachers and how she is now making stuff happen for herself. She has had a ton of ups and downs but is so relatable, smart, and in the zone of surrendering that she is a helpful guide in making life easier for all of us.
Includes a Meditation on Balancing the Masculine and Feminine Aspects of Ourselves
Welcome to DENtalks! Today we are joined by Gahl Sasson, teacher of Astrology, Mythology, Mysticism, Kabbalah, and so much more. W Magazine even named him the best astrologer in Los Angeles! He teaches all around the world and we are fortune to have him lead workshops at The DEN. His first book, “A Wish Can Change a Life” is endorsed by the Dalai Lama himself and has been translated into 8 languages. He’s a brilliant man who comes from a world of academics but was always on the search for what everything really means. This search took him from Israel, to Mexico, to Guadalajara, and finally to Los Angeles. We discuss Past Lives and how learning a language is Gahl’s recommendation for helping you tap into your past lives. Interestingly though, even with all the astrology he knows - he thinks the meaning of your NAME carries a lot of weight and is really your true path. He says you should look to your name first to understand your purpose and who you are. No surprise, that there is also a shadow side to everyones name and we talk about that too. We dive into some juicy topics about astrology, like exploring the charts of certain countries and why some have proclivity towards war more than others, how astrology was used in WW2, and what we have to look our for in 2019. Gahl is incredible and hearing his across the world journey from academia to now is so inspiring - he proves that things really do all happen for a reason, there are no coincidences.

We are here today with a very special guest, our senior Mindfulness DEN Meditation teacher, Heather Prete. She knows her stuff! She started her formal training in Tibetan compassion practices in 1998 and has since studied all over the world. We cover it all in this episode: Buddhism, Mindfulness, Neuro Science, the Dharma and the power of silence. She even takes a “woo woo” experience Tal had at a silent retreat and breaks it down scientifically. This episode dives deep into the parallels of science and meditation, so for those of you who struggle with the “woo woo” of it all and react more to the science, this is a great conversation for you. If connecting to the spiritual world and beyond is of interest, you'll love how she explains what scientifically is going on in your body during any of those experiences. We even chat about the importance of silence, and how it should feel like a relief and not a punishment. Every sentence of this conversation is an incredible education. She is a beautiful teacher and has the most gentle approach in guiding you to look inward and go deeper. Her personal practice is evidence of this, so be sure to stay until the end as she leads us through a Self Compassion body scan.

This conversation will make you look at things differently, and take in every little moment of life. Her personal practice at the end makes you go deep, and go deep quickly.
