Deliverance from People Pleasing starts with reading the Bible. BIBLE >> BE LED BY VOICE OF GOD >> FULL OF FEAR OF THE LORD = NO MORE FEAR OF MAN (i.e. People Pleasing) Starting a new discipline can be quite tricky. The first step is to make a plan for success. And, include a success tracker! Any time you can see success, it will give you a shot of dopamine that will ensure you repeat that task again to get another shot of dopamine! This is true for good or bad behaviors! Spiritual Growth Plan to Read the Bible Daily: 1. Download a Bible app. Pick a "Bible in One Year" reading plan in the app. 2. Pick a daily routine to ADD this new discipline to ... ex: shower, car ride, walking a pet, unloading the dishwasher 3. Print your Mental Makeover Checklist AND Success Tracker. Place it somewhere you will see it daily. 4. Set a reminder on your phone to update your trackers at the end of each day. In order to keep our peace, we must keep the underlying theme that God is good all the time and all the time God is good. Without this thought, we might then begin to wonder if the new covenant grace will truly forgive all of our sins. We might start to question “Does God forgive everything?” Even abortion (or that sin you are thinking of right now)? How can you find forgiveness and freedom after such a sin? Should you be punished and have tormenting fear as your portion? And maybe abortion isn’t part of your story, so consider that thing that causes you shame and guilt. That thing that leaves you feeling like you are not worthy of forgiveness. My special guest, Brittany Poppe, told her testimony about suffering from fear of punishment after an abortion. She suffered with this tormenting fear that left her expecting to be punished for her sin of choosing an abortion at age 17. It wasn't until she gave birth to her second child later in life that she found healing with Jesus and began to understand the undeserved grace He offers.
