Randy dreams of winning a special award for doing something really helpful. He thought he needed to do something big to win, so he started looking for big ways to help around the forest. But when he passed by friends who needed help with small things, he didn't help them because he thought those tasks were too small to win the award. Later, Randy realized that helping others, even in small ways, made him and his friends happy. Being helpful doesn't have to be about doing big things but making a difference with little acts of kindness.

But then, he talks to Goosey the Crow, who gives him advice about being patient and trying to share his thoughts in a way that others will listen. Sammy also visits Oliver, the wise old owl, who teaches him more about patience and how to be understood. In the end, Sammy feels hopeful about trying again with his friends, using what he's learned about patience and speaking up.

In this part of our story, Winky and Coralia, noticed that their home was in trouble because of murky waters. They gathered all the creatures of AquaLore to fix a broken pipeline, believing that working together was the key to solving the problem. Each creature had a unique skill: Glitterfin Dolphins navigated murky waters, Jellybrights provided light, Coral Bloomers used their strength for repairs, and Tangle-Tail Monkeys maneuvered through tight spaces. With everyone's cooperation, they began repairing the pipeline and cleaning the water.

The weeks are worried about their children and what will become of them? They ask the rye for advice but the rye is not very pleasant with his reply and so the weeds were left to decide on their own. They asked the breeze for help to spread their seeds and the breeze agreed but each of the weeds asked the breeze to not tell the other weeds. In the Spring we will see if the weeds managed to get their seeds spread or not.

Butterwops is a beetle who has lived for a long time. The younger beetles call him “the general” and he tries his best to guide them. The Travels of Prince Flamingo is the first part of our story about Little White Wing. He is a baby flamingo that is born into a place with hundreds of other flamingos. When they start changing colors and turning pink Little White Wing stays white. The King of flamingos tells everyone that Little White Wing needs to go. His mother sends him off before they come to take him away and he heads off to see if he can find out where he belongs.

In part 8 of our story, Doctor Dolittle and his pets are on the pirates ship and sailing away as fast as they can but the pirates block their way. Doctor Dolittle tries to talk to the pirate and reason with him and keep him distracted while the ship starts to sink. When the pirates realize that their boat is sinking they get into the water and the sharks start circling. The sharks start circling around and Doctor Dolittle asks the pirates to promise to change their way and they promise. If they forget the sharks have promised to come back for them.

Doctor Dolittle is finally on his way home. The monkeys shook his hand and then Doctor Dolittle and his pets head off to the shore wondering how they will make it home with no boat. When Chee-chee goes on ahead to look for coconuts the group gets lost and ends up heading into the Kings backyard. Of course the King locks them up again but Polynesia manages to fly away before anyone sees her and she and Chee-chee come up with a plan to get everyone out of the dungeon.

All the animals in the forest can’t believe he is going to leave, they thought he would stay. They try to think of ways to convince him to stay but Chee Chee explains to them why they need to go. After this the animals decide to try and find a gift that will show Doctor Dolittle how much his help has meant to them. What could they possibly give to him?

Doctor Dolittle and some of his animals are on their way to Africa in part 3 of The Story of Doctor Dolittle. When they get near the equator some of the animals are loving the heat while others are sitting in the shade drinking lemonade. Some animals come to greet them to see if this is the famous Doctor Dolittle finally arriving to help the monkeys and they are happy to see it is. When they land in Africa though the King does not feel the same way about their arrival.

In Doctor Dolittle part two the doctor is very happy helping the animals and does not like to send any away. This starts to cause problems as some of the animals scare the people who bring their pets and all of a sudden there are no more people coming to see him. This means no money to live on and this is a problem. The animals talk about how they can help with this problem.

In The Magic Soap Bubble part 6 Ned, the giant, the princess, and her brother are all tucked in at the castle while they wait for the stepfather, the King, to return. When the King is almost there Ned sends the bluebird off with the golden ring to get help. When the bluebird lands near the King he senses her and she ends up dropping the ring into the moat. The King goes into the castle and things start to happen, how can the bluebird help everyone if she has lost the ring?

In the Magic Soap Bubble part 3 Ned needs to complete another task for the King before he will give him the gold he promised. When Ned digs the well and fills it with water the King is so happy and sends Ned on his way on a donkey with all the gold he promised. As Ned is travelling he hears a giant singing and whistling and hides. When the giant sees Ned he tells him he is going to eat him but Ned says he is going to make the giant his worker. They have a contest to see who will end up being the worker.

Do you like to throw snowballs? Have you had a snowball fight recently? In this story the boys are having a big snowball fight and decide to get a head start on the next day by creating a big pile of snowballs ahead of time. That night it snows and snows and snows and the snowballs get buried until Spring. When Spring comes the snowballs hear someone calling for help but none of them are willing to go out where the sun is to find out who is calling, except Snowball number one. Snowball number one rolls down the hill and finds out who asked for help and starts a whole new journey.

The Little Tree That Never Grew Up is a story of perseverance. The Little Tree was very unhappy as she could not sign with the winds or speak to the trees around her. She didn’t grow as tall as the other trees either and when she got her voice they could not hear her. The Night Wind becomes her good friend and he carries her sad song to the stars. After many years the Little Tree gets cut down and the Night Wind misses her but they will make music together again.

Everyone is trying to find out more about him since the contest with Mr. Crow but only Mrs. Ladybug has been successful. Now that she knows something she feels it is up to her to do something about it. She asks Daddy Longlegs about it but he doesn’t want to do anything and she gets after him about that. Daddy Longlegs makes a promise to her and then afterwards realizes he shouldn’t have. He sets out across the field to find Farmer Green and runs into some trouble.

The weeks are worried about their children and what will become of them? They ask the rye for advice but the rye is not very pleasant with his reply and so the weeds were left to decide on their own. They asked the breeze for help to spread their seeds and the breeze agreed but each of the weeds asked the breeze to not tell the other weeds. In the Spring we will see if the weeds managed to get their seeds spread or not.

I am spending some time thinking about going back to school and I am thinking about lots of “What ifs?” I have found some funny books about going back to school to share with you this week. The first book we are going to talk about is The Pigeon HAS to Go to School! by Mo Willems. Pigeon does not want to go back to school and he spends lots of time thinking about “What if?”. He says there is too much to learn and too much to do. In the end he decides that school is exactly where he wants to be. Another book we are going to look at is My Teacher is a Monster! (No, I Am Not.) by Peter Brown. Bobby has a problem at school and her name is Mrs. Kirby. She stomps, roars, and acts like a monster. Bobby can’t believe it when he meets her at the park but by the end of the day he thinks, maybe she isn’’t such a monster after all.

In Chapter 8 of Alice in Wonderland, Alice is in the garden where the King and Queen of Hearts are going to be. She sees some gardeners painting white roses red and wonders why they are doing it. Alice asks them but they get interrupted when the Queen arrives. The Queen is not happy to see the white roses and tries to send the gardeners away but Alice helps them hide. The Queen asks Alice if she knows how to play croquet and Alice says yes but this game is not like what she is used to.

This week we are looking at Back to School. How are you feeling about going back to school? Are you excited? Nervous? We are going to look at two books that talk about how other people are feeling about going back to school. The first book is First Day Jitters by Julie Danneberg. Sarah in this story is worried about her first day of school and does not want to get up or do anything to get ready. She is new to her school and doesn’t know anyone and doesn’t feel like starting over. Finally she gets to school and realizes that all her worry was for nothing. The second book is called Mae’s First Day of School by Kate Berube. May is also worried, what if the other kids don’t like her? Her mom tells her about all the great things she will find there. Mae arrives at school and then hides in a tree. She has some visitors in the tree and they talk about all the things they are worried about.
