And an explanation of the one who tries to resemble them but is not from them. And Allaah has explained this foundation at the beginning of Surah al-Baqarah in His saying: “O Children of Israel. Remember my favour which I bestowed upon you, and fulfil my covenant and I will fulfil yours” [Surah al-Baqarah 2:40], up until His saying,  “O Children of Israel. Remember my favour which I bestowed upon you and how I favoured you over all the worlds” [Surah al-Baqarah 2:47].   And what increases this in clarity is what has been explained by the Sunnah concerning this [with] abundant, clear and manifest speech [that is clear] for the common person.   Then this affair became the strangest of things, and ‘Ilm and Fiqh were considered to be [religious] innovations and misguidance, and the best of what was with them was truth mixed with falsehood.   And the actual ‘Ilm that Allaah, the Most High, obligated upon His creation and which He praised, then no one spoke of it, except [that he was considered] a heretic or insane person. " Allaah, the Sublime’s explanation of [who is from] the Awliyaa of Allaah, and His separating between them and between those who try to resemble them amongst the enemies of Allaah, the Munaafiqeen and the Fujjaar (hypocrites and sinners). And in this regard,the verse in Surah Aali Imraan is sufficient, and it His saying, “Say if you truly love Allaah, then follow me, Allaah will then love you” [Aali Imraan 3:31],  and the verse in Surah al-Maa’idah, and it is His saying, “O you who believe, whoever amongst you turns his back on his deen, then soon will Allaah bring another people whom He loves and they will love Him” [Al-Maa’idah 5:54], to the end of the verse.   And also, the verse in Yunus, and it is His saying, “Verily, the (pious) friends of Allaah, they do not fear, nor do they grieve, those who believed and used to have taqwaa” [Yunus 10:62]. But then the affair, to most of those who claimed knowledge and who claimed to be guided for the creation and protectors of the legislation, became such that it they considered it necessary for the Awliyaa to abandon following the Messengers, and that whoever followed them, was not from them. And that it was necessary to leave Jihaad and that the one who made Jihaad is not amongst them. And that it is necessary to leave off Imaan and Taqwaa, and that who ever adopted Imaan and Taqwaa is not amongst them [the Awliyaa]. Lesson 3 of The SIx Fundamental Principles of Shaykhul Islam Mohammad ibn Abdul Wahhab by Ustadh  AbdulHakeem Mitchell  using the explanation of Shaikh Saleh bin Fawzan bin Abdullah al-Fawzann and Shaykh 'Abdullah Al-Bukhaari. In this lesson ustadh covered "The Second Principle – Unity in the Religion" Allaah has commanded unity (al-ijtimaa’) in the religion and has prohibited  separation (at-tafarruq) therein. So Allaah has explained this, clearly and  sufficiently, [in a manner] that the common people can understand. And He forbade us to be like those who split and differed [amongst  themselves] before us and were destroyed [by this]. And He mentioned that  He commanded the Muslims to be united in the religion, and forbade them  from becoming separated therein. And this is increased in clarity by what has  been reported in the Sunnah of amazing affairs pertaining to that. Then the matter became [overturned] such that [blameworthy] splitting in the  foundations (usool) and subsidiary branches (furoo’) of the religion was turned  into [the real] knowledge and understanding of the religion, and [such that] no  one spoke of unity in the religion except [that he was considered] a zindeeq  (heretic) or a majnoon (mad person). Then, when there occurred to the Ummah what occurred [to it], Shaytaan  presented to them [what they presumed to be] Ikhlaas by portraying a picture  of belittlement of the Righteous people and absence of the fulfilment of their  rights. And he made Shirk to appear amongst them in the form of love of the  Righteous and their followers. Hadith 3 umdatul ahkam: -Narrated ‘Abdullaah bin ‘Amr ibnu-l’Aas and Abu Hurayrah and ‘Aa’ishah (May Allaah be pleased with them), who said that Allaah’s Apostle (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “Woe to dry heels because of Hellfire.” [Sahih Muslim, Book 002, Number 0473] ⁃ An individual must cover all of the limbs when performing wudhu ⁃ ‘Woe’ - a wording of warning ⁃ ‘The heels’ - by missing the heels during wudhu could be a reason for you to enter the hell fire due to the fact that you have not completed the wudhu ⁃ ‘From the fire’ - the hellfire in the akhirah ⁃ The purification is one of the most important pillar of salah so leaving off something from it means your salah has not been corrected ⁃ Washing is the feet is obligatory and only the Shia opposite it ⁃ Each of the limbs have to be washed comprehensively ⁃ The recompense is from the same form of action in itself ⁃ Neglecting the heels during wudhu can lead to your legs being dipped into the hellfire ⁃ Conserve the water that you use during wudhu ⁃ Using so much water can lead to you being complacent but not reaching all the limbs Hadith 4: ⁃ On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (May Allaah be pleased with him), that Allaah’s Apostle (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “If anyone of you performs ablution he should put water in his nose and then blow it out and whoever cleans his private parts with stones should do so with odd numbers. And whoever wakes up from his sleep should wash his hands three times before putting them in the water for ablution, because nobody knows where his hands were during sleep.” And in a narration by Muslim: “Let him take water into his nose, washing the nose by putting water in it”. And in another narration: And he who makes ablution, then let him take water into his nose.” [Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 4, Number 163 ⁃ These affairs mentioned in the hadith are all commands due to the wording used by the narrator ⁃ The command of using an odd amount E.g. tawaf, throwing of the stone, wudhu etc

There are two type of worship: 1. worship other than Allah 2. Worship for Allah Worship other than Allah is incorrect and if the person does so then they will be committing shirk.This worship is not established upon logic nur upon the text ( Quran and Sunnah). If a person accepts that it’s Allah who created him, provided and give him everything , so therefore this necessitates that they should dedicate all his worship for Allah alone. Additionally, It is not found in the text (i.e the Quran and sunnah) that any form of worship should be dedicated to other than Allah. Rather we find the opposite that we should dedicate ALL our worship to Allah and NOT dedicate it to other than him. If person dedicate their worship other than Allah then this person is arrogant and he is under the threat of Allahs punishment. The intellect is not the only means for coming to the truth The texts are upon completion /perfection The intellect is a tool used in reaching the truth Asking of Allah is from Imaan. The creation becomes fatigued when they are asked, wheres Allāh command us to Ask Him continuously The Shayatin come to a person and try to cause them to despair, as this makes a person easier for them to misguide. Supplicate to Alläh & do not rely solely on the means "So do not fear them, but fear Me if you are truly believers” 5:23 The people of Imaan have been warned of having fear (of a worship) towards the creation Fervent Desire - Raghbah Fear - Khawf All of the previously mentioned forms of worship are for Allah alone, so anyone that directs them to other than Him has committed Shirk/ Disbelief 2nd Principle / Foundation knowledge of the religion of Islam with it's proofs Those who seek to reject the da’wah try to throw doubt upon the one that is calling This is because they cannot refute the truth. The Hadith of Jibreel covers the foundations of the Deen (Islam, Imaan, Ihsaan) General: What the prophets and messengers called to Specific: The Deen which was brought by way of the Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) Surrender to Allah by way of tawhid, submission to him by way of obedience, and freeing oneself from shirk and the people of shirk. Entering into Istam requires affirmation and negation Affirmation - Tawhid & Submission Negation - Shirk & it's people To Allāh belongs all praise for all the blessings that we cannot enumerate It is upon every single muslim to freeing oneself from the sin & the sinner, must hate the sin and the sinner. Those who are upon shink are enemies to Allah, His Prophets, and His Deen. Therefore, it is upon us to hate them due to this enmity that they have. You cannot hold the rights of the creation in high regard while disregarding those of the Creator.

The Status of the Sunnah in Islaam • The terms/words sunnah, Salafi, etc. are all praiseworthy • 2 types of sinners • The Sinner who is aware the he is sinful • This individual commits sins while knowing himself to be sinful, and is under the threat of punishment • This is because he is opposing the command of Allah, and the Sunnah of the Messenger (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) • This individual may be led to success through Tawbah/Repentance • The other is the sinner who leaves off the Sunnah due to doubts • This individual is considered to be from the people of desires and they are worse than the first, as he will believe he is upon the truth and will not repent/make Tawbah • You must question the deeds that you have put forth • The Sunnah is of great value, like treasure is in a worldly sense, so one must protect it • The Companions were the original protectors of the Sunnah, and they are all trustworthy • People become higher in our view when they are praised by scholars and trustworthy people, so what about the Companions, who were praised by Allah in multiple places in the Qur’ān • Those who question the character about the Companions are doing so in order to bring about doubts about the Sunnah • Anas Ibn Mālik narrated little from the Messenger (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) out of fear of narrating that which is not from the Sunnah, and he was from the Mukthireen (Those who narrated the most) • Narration: “Whoever lies about me intentionally, then let him take his seat in the fire.” • The Companions didn’t just narrate whatever they heard, unlike many speakers today • People have been afflicted by their desire for fame/leadership, so they speak without confirming that they are narrating from the Sunnah • That which you narrate can be a means for someone’s guidance/salvation, so be sure of it! • Study/Revision of the Hadith brings it to life • The Messenger of Allah (sallallāhu alaihi wa sallam) said, “There will not cease to be a group of my Ummah uppermost upon the truth. They will not be harmed by those who forsake them, until Allah’s affair comes to pass and they are uppermost.” [Reported by Muslim]’ • The people of Hadith are the people who will be saved from the misguides and the fire, so upon you is to be amongst them, therefore study: • The Book of Allah • The Sunnah • The lives of the companions • The Tābi’een • The Tābi Tābi’een • The A’Imma (Scholars upon the Sunnah, the Muhaddithīn, Mufassirīn, etc.) • Within all of this revelation and commentary of it, is a means for a person’s Istiqāma

Enter into Islam Wholeheartedly — Abū Ukkāshah ‘Abdul Hakeem • O you who believe! Enter perfectly in Islam and follow not the footsteps of Shaitan. Verily! He is to you a plain enemy. [Sūrah al-Baqarah, 208] — Imām as-Si’dī about entering Islām fully and not obeying lowly desires. • All the Prophets and Messengers called to the worship of Allaah and staying away from worshipping besides Him. • O you who believe! Answer Allah and (His) Messenger when he calls you to that which will give you life [Sūrah al-Anfāl, 24] — Benefits mentioned by Ibn al-Qayyim about this ayah. • Shaykh al-Fawzān on the musāra’ah, constant war, between a person and Shaytaan; ends only when the both feet of a person in Paradise. • Truly, the religion with Allah is Islam. Sūrah āl-Imrān, 19] — Benefits mentioned by Ibn Kathīr about this ayah. • The two types of Ummah — ar-Risaalah and al-Ijaabah. • The story of the Jewish boy on his deathbed and tears of the Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم. • Ibn al-Qayyim on the 4 Pillars of disbelief — Kibr, Ghibtah, Ghadab and Shahwah. • Ibrāhīm and Ya’qūb عليهما السلام advising their children to enter the religion wholeheartedly. • When Ibrāhīm was commanded to sacrifice his son Ismā’īl عليهما السلام. Details of the submission of Ibrāhīm compared to the much lesser submission we have to make. • How quick the Companions were to submit; response of ‘Umar رضي الله عنه when the verse was revealed to abandon intoxicants. • Intoxicants and the 10 cursed regarding them. Gambling and it’s dangers. • Ā’ishah رضي الله عنها about how the Muhājirāt responded when the āyāt about Khimār/Hijāb were revealed. Advices on how to enter Islām wholeheartedly: • Being humble upon the truth when it comes to you. • If sincere advice comes from a person who is not sincere, then accept it. Example of Bilqīs, the queen of Sheeba. And Mūsā and Hārūn عليهما السلام and sorcerers. • Having certainty in resurrection, accountability and reward. Example of man in Sūrah Kahf who did not believe his garden would perish or that the Hour would be established. • Not to constantly look to this worldly life, nor to be amazed by it. Brief enjoyments of this world and what they consist of. • To fear the misguidance after guidance. Du’ā of Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم when he would leave his home. • To fear an evil end. What leads to an evil end, mentioned by Ibn Rajab. • To understand the blessing of this religion. Narration of ‘Umar رضي الله عنه that Allaah ennobled us through Islaam. — Narration of Ibn al-Mubārak that dying upon the Sunnah is a miracle - and how this applies more in this time. • To be different, distinct and oppose the Mushrikeen and open sinners who will be fuel for the hell fire. Narration about Muslims following the Jews and Christians. • To turn to the Book of Allaah and stay away from the Quraan of the Shaytaan. Ibn al-Qayyim on the specific effects of music, how it cannot combine in a single heart with love of the Book of Allaah and how it is comparable to intoxicants. • To never stop the fight with Shaytaan. Do not say “eventually” you will do good deeds because that day may not come. Ibn al-Qayyim on how if Shaytaan is able to misguide a person when they are at their strongest in terms of senses and faculties, so what about at point of death? • To return back to our lord like a slave running back to obedience of his master, and not be the captive of our desires. • To make our tongue moist with the remembrance of Allaah and the limbs active in the obedience of Allaah.

The meaning, virtue & excellence of Islam ⁃ The purpose of our lives is to sincerely worship Allah alone - The meaning of Islam is to submit to Allah alone with Tawheed and free yourselfwith shirk and its people ⁃ ‘Surely the religion of Allah is Islam, - It is the true religion that Allah is pleased with & he has chosen that for the servant’ ⁃ The religion of Islam truly purifies the heart ⁃ Allah is free from partners that are worshipped with him ⁃ Committing shirk corrupts the heart, soul, wealth and their property ⁃ Be firm upon islam & die upon it ⁃ Indeed Allah has favoured you with the true religion so do not die except in a state of submission ⁃ The book of Allah has been sent down as clarification for everything, a guidance and as glad tidings for Muslims ⁃ It compiles of all good knowledge from that which has taken place, that which hasn’t occurred yet and the ruling of everything that is permissible and impermissible ⁃ There is nothing left that brings you closer to jannah & be further away from the fire except that it has already been clarified to you ⁃ This knowledge would be carried throughout the generations by the trustworthy ones

The 3 fundamental Principles Believers call upon Allah with Raghbah (Love & Desire) and Reverential Fear (Khawf) Humility خشوا & خشيا Awe Fear has two types: - Natural Fear - Reverential Fear The ‘Ulamā possess the most fear of Allāh The believe in Allāh, His Book, and His Messenger, and they act upon that knowledge One must have knowledge of Allāh to Fear Him From the Qur’ān “Do not fear them, but Fear Me” ‘Inābah - Submission Recognising the deficit in one's fulfilment of Allah's rights is encouragement for the believer to strive in doing more & better deeds. ‘Isti’ānah - Appealing for Aid and Assistance from Allāh This cannot be directed to other than Allah Anything you seek can only be provided by Alläh, so you must turn to Him Seeking the means is permissible, but one must ask Allah for aid & success “To You Alone we Worship, and to You Alone do we seek help” - Fātihah Isti’āthah - Seeking refuge with Allah Istighāthah - Seeking Aid from Allah when in great need If directed to other than Allah, then it must be from sought from one that is: 1. Able 2. Present 3. If not Present, then they take the Hukum (Ruling) of the one that is (meaning, you can communicate with them) Seeking aid when these conditions are not met is Shirk. Adh-Dhabh - Slaughtering Obligatory - Eid al-Adha, Hajj, ‘Aqiqah Optional - For Guests Sacrificing for other than Allāh is Shirk “Whoever believes in Allāh and the Last Day, then let him honour his guest” From the greatest means of honouring the guest is to sacrifice in order to feed them, however if it is not within a person’s means, then there is nothing upon them. The Prophet (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam), would sometimes be unable to do so, such as when he lacked the wealth. An example of this would be when he would ask ‘Ā’ishah if there was any food, and upon hearing that there was none, he would fast for the day. An-Nadhm - Vows A vow cannot be made to other than Allāh. Restricted/Conditional vows are Makrūh. The person that makes such a vow (conditional), is stingy. For example, vowing to do righteous deeds if Allāh grants you with what you wish for.

Lesson One: The new book that ustadh started which is ‘Umdatul Ahkam’ is different to the book that is covered on Mondays which Umdatul Fiqh. This book starts with the chapter of ‘book of Purification’ All the hadiths found in this book are agreed upon both Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. • First hadith is the hadith of ʿUmar ibn al-Khattāb (radiyallāhu ʿanhu) narrated that Allāh’s Messenger (salallāhu ʿalaihi wasallam) said: “Actions are only by intentions, and for each person there is only that which he intended. So, whoever’s migration was to Allāh and His Messenger, then his migration is considered to be to Allāh and His Messenger. But whoever’s migration was to attain a worldly possession, or for a woman he wanted to marry, then his emigration is for that for which he migrated.” - There after the following are covered: 1. Short biography of the noble companion and the leader of the believers ʿUmar ibn al-Khattāb (radiyallāhu ʿanhu). - When he accepted Islam and the impact it had to the muslims - How many battles he attended. - How long his khalifah was for. - How he was kiled and who killed him. 2. Explaining of the wording of the hadith in the linguistic as well shariah - meaning of intentions - meaning of action - meaning migration 3. Importance of intentions and its status. - The correct way to make it . - How it can differentiation between normal acts and acts of worship. - How it can be corrputed - The benefits of this hadith: 1. Emphasises of the importance of the Niyyah (intention) 2. Inciting to have sincerity in the intention and making clear the value of that. 3. Warning against intending this dunya in our actions. 4. Showing that people differ concerning a person will be rewarded only for what they intended. 5. Purification is from actions therefore it cannot be established without a Niyyah 6. The excellence of the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam)’s manner of educating his companions and his perfect eloquence and clarification.

Ustadh covered in thsi lesson the different types of actions of Ibaadah, From them is Du’aa, which is one of the best forms of it It is divided into two types - Duaa of Ibaadah Turning to only Allāh in praise With your wealth, your body, or a combination of the two A person cannot be upon Tawheed except that they free themselves from Shirk (and its people), which is its opposite (small or large in amount) Just as one loves the Truth, one must hate Evil Unlike the Ahmadiyya, who state that there should be “love of all, hatred for none”, we must hate both the sin and the sinner - Second typye of dua is dua of Asking Asking Allāh to fulfil your needs in Deen and/or Dunya Asking for him to remove hardship from your life When a person seeks something from Allāh, then this is seen as ‘Ibaadah, therefore it cannot be directed to other than Allāh, as that would be to associate partners with Him An affair/action that can only be fulfilled by Allāh Seeking from the creation that which is within their ability is not Haraam Imaan is belief in the heart, statement upon the tongue, and action of the limbs It increases with obedience to Allāh, and decreases with disobedience of Him, which is obedience of Shaytaan Fearing Allāh is attached to your Imaan Ayah “Do not fear them but fear Me” This Fear must be alongside Hope and Love Fear is made up of 3 categories 1. Fear of Shirk 1. The callers to Shirk utilise Fear to call people to Shirk, which nullifies Tawheed 2. Fear of People 1. Leaving off the obligatory acts of worship out of fear of people is Major Shirk. Within it is raising other than Allāh by directing a portion of worship to other than Allāh 2. Minor Shirk can lead to Minor Shirk 3. Natural Fear 1. Fear of predators, enemies, etc. 2. Not blameworthy Next week: Different forms of Ibaadah

This lesson ustadh covered the hadith of The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Command your children to pray when they become seven years old, and beat them for it (prayer) when they become ten years old; and arrange their beds (to sleep) separately. To act upon this hadith the following condition must be met: • The child must reach be the age in the Hijri calendar rather than the Gregorian calendar. • The mental capacity of the child must be in line with their actual age so therefore if the child is showing that his mental capacity is much younger. Then it must not be beaten the child. • The child is not beaten for every single thing that he does wrong • The child is not beaten for the sake of bringing pain to him but rather to show how great his act is of leaving their salah • The beating doesn’t happen repeatedly but rather only in term of in need. • The beating must not be for the sake causing pain or the breaking the skin. • It must not be the first act of disciplining the child so if you know the is other alternative than it must be used. • This disciplining of the child must be done immediately after the leaving of the first salah and not leave it off until the child leaves off one salah after another. • This is done by both of the parents. • Both parents must lead by example and not follow the false premise of “do what I say and don’t do what I do”

Lecture 2 of the Salafi Nigeria Aqeedah & Manhaj Series of Year 1442: Title: The Aqeedah & Manhaj of al-Imam Sufyaan ath-Thawri - Amirul-Mu'mineed in Hadeeth (d. 161 H) Speaker: Shaykh Dr. 'Abdulilaah Lahmami

Ustadh Abdul Hakeem (hafidahullah)discusses the importance of guarding and safeguarding one's time. Shaykh ibn Baz (rahimahullah) said, "Time is more valuable than gold itself." This shows us the importance of time because it is a commodity which will aid us in our hereafter. In safeguarding and utlising our time there are affairs which we must recognise and utilise in order to aid us in using our time well. • Worship of Allah - The Purpose of our Creation Ibn Kathir (Rahimahullah): Allah created his servants to worship Him alone without any partners, so whoever obeys Allah with this command then Allah will grant them the best of rewards and whoever disobeys Him Allah will punish him with the most severe of punishments. Allah informs us that he is not in need of the servants, he created his servants, rather they are in need of him (subhanahu)in all of their affairs for indeed Allah is the one who created them and he is the one that gives them sustenance. End of speech • Good companionship Spend your time with companionship that will aid you upon good. The Messenger (sallallaahu alaihi wa salam)said, "The person is upon the religion of his companion, so look to whom you take as your companion." Have companionship which aids you in worshipping Allah, participating in that which brings you benefit, enjoins the good and forbids the evil, the time you spend with him is one of benefit, seeking beneficial knowledge and acting upon it, reminding one another of Allah, a companion who wants Jannah for you just as he wants for himself. Anas ibn malik (radiaAllahu anhu) The Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wa salam) said, "One of you does not truly believe until he loves for his brother that which he loves for himself." • Righteous Actions and Exertion upon them Do not fill ones time with the actions which are haram and actions which Allah subhanahu disapproves of, it is important to recognise that the worldly life is the place of cultivation for the aakhirah, this is where the seeds are laid down, which we seek to harvest and benefit from in the hereafter. Therefore, if a person does not exert themselves upon good, what will he have to harvest in the aakhirah? Umar ibn abdul Azeez said, "indeed the night and the day they work for you, they are in your service so work for them. Ie take advantage of them, take advanatgae of the actions of the night and the actions of the day." Abu Hurayrah (radiAllahu anhu) said he and other from the companions would split their night into three, 1/3 for sleep, 1/3 for revision of hadeeth and 1/3 for the worship of Allah (night prayer, supplication etc). Your life in this world is not eternal, so take benefit of it while you can.

Patience is a means of attaining good in this life and the Hereafter. Shaykhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) mentioned that Patience is upon 3 affairs. - Patience upon the obedience of Allah - Patience in staying away from disobedience - Servant patience upon calamities Benefits from the speech of Shaykhul Islaam ibn Taymiyyah on affairs that aid the servant in remaining patient. A lot of the affairs he refers to are in relation to pardoning one another and forgiving one another because from the hardest means of being patient is being patient with the creation. The soul leans towards seeking vengeance and by way of this its important that the person remains patient with the harms of the person and he does not go beyond bounds in seeking vengeance. Summary of Benefits: - Nothing occurs except that Allah has willed it – this aids a person in protecting them from depression and anxiety. - How to recognise if a difficult affair is a blessing or a calamity for you. - Virtue of forgiving and pardoning the harms of others as mentioned in the Quran. - Pardoning and having good relations with others brings about goodness and peace within the hearts and brings an increase in benefit, much more than would be achieved by seeking vengeance. - The one who is patient and pardons and does not seek vengeance for himself, this increases the person in honour, due to his forgiving and pardoning. If a person pardons, he will increase in humility inwardly and outwardly will increase in honour – and Allah Knows best. - When a person pardons the people, then Allah will pardon him because the reward/recompense is based upon the form of the action itself – Shaykhul Islam said, this benefit alone is sufficient for a person to forgive and pardon others. - Being focused on vengeance causes his heart to be preoccupied with vengeance and causes a loss and waste of time, causing more harm than the calamity itself. - The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa salam) NEVER sought vengeance for himself, whilst we know he was harmed severely due to his religion and he is the example for us to follow. Lesson #6: عمدة الأحكام Hadith #10 Our teacher Abu AbdiRahmaan Uwais At Taweel -Allaah préserve him- Explained in detail the Hadith of Aishah-May Allaah be pleased with her: That the prophet peace be upon him use to start with the right part when he wears his shoes, comb his hair, and when purifying himself [Wudu or Ghusl ] and all of his affairs. He -Allaah préserve him- gave some insight and reasoning as why it was so and more.

The book of Purification: Hadith 5. Our teacher - Allaah preserve - explained from the Hadith the ruling of urinating in a stagnant water and washing one self from it in a state of Junub [a state of an individual after having intercourse or from wet dream due to ejaculation]. He -Allaah preserve him-also mention Benefits taken from the Hadith. Hadith 6: He- Allaah preserve him- addressed the ruling regarding a dog putting its tongue in a vessel and how to purify the impurities caused by it from the vessel. Also covered is the benefits from this Hadith.

Lesson #4 :Belief in the divine decree the good of it and the evil of all of it is from Allaah. Our teacher Abu AbdiRahmaan Uwais At Taweel -Allaah préserve him- further explained the belief of Ahlu sunnah as it relates to the Qadar [Divine decree of Allaah] that it is From the pillars of Al eeman and from the fundamentals of the deen With its root from the Book Allaah and Hadith of the prophet peace be upon him. Our teacher -Allaah -preserve him- also explained The four levels of Qadar a servant must understand in order to have correct belief in divine decree which is a pillars of Eeman: they are: 1.The encompassing knowledge of Allaah and that nothing is concealed from him. 2 Belief that everything and every affair has be written in the Book of decree. 3 Eeman and belief in the will of Allaah. 4 The level of creation and existence He-Allaah préserve him- also clarified the sects that opposed the correct creed and path regarding Qadar: The likes of Qadariyyah and Jabariyyah ... And he capped the class with the Fruits and benefit of having the correct creed as it relates to Qadar.

Lesson 3: Aqeedah ar-Raaziyain by Ustaadh Abu AbdirRahmaan Uwais At Taweel. Allaah preserve him. After praising Allaah seeking his aid and Tawfeeq. Our teacher -Allaah préserve him- went on to explain the second creed and fundamental principle of Ahlu sunnah in the book which is: والقرآن كلام الله غير مخلوق في جميع جهته And the Quran is the speech of Allaah, it is not created in any way, form or fashion. Our teacher -Allaah preserve him- brought forth the proofs from the Quran and Sunnah used by Scholars of sunnah to support this fundamental principle in Islam, A must for all the muslim to believe in. He also mentioned the trials of Imam Ahmed illustrating from that the patience of scholars of Ahlu sunnah in calling the rulers to correctness and their refraining from making khuruj [protest] He also mentioned the sects that deviated from this important creed, their argument from the Jahmiyyah, kullaabiyah and the asharis and how the Scholars of Ahlu sunnah destroyed that argument with evidences from the book of Allaah and the sunnah of His messenger- peace be upon him.

Main points explained regarding lesson 2 of Aqeedah Ar-Raaziyain. By our Teacher Abu AbdirRahmaan Uways At-Taweel Allaah preserve him. It includes: • The Benefits from the introduction and the statement of Ibn Abi Haatim -Allaah be pleased with him where he said:" I asked my father [Abu Haatim] and his uncle [Abu Zur'ah] regarding the methodology of Ahlu sunnah in the fundamentals of the deen and that which they [both] have received from the ulema [scholars] from various vicinity and areas and also for [both of] them to add to that [methodolgy] from their beliefs regarding the fundamentals of the deen.": 1. He laid down the foundation regarding seeking knowledge. How do we take knowledge and that is to take knowledge from the scholars. 2. The benefit of taking our Aqeedah [Fundamental beliefs in Al islam] from the pious predecessors. 3. The importance of parents being upon the correct beliefs and methodology. 4. Also, from the benefit of the introduction is that it stresses the importance of scholars upon the sunnah, returning to them and seeking ilm [Knowledge] from them, That from the major reasons of misguidaince is abstinence seeking knowledge from the correct source, the scholars of sunnah and dependence of individual's intellect. 5. The introduction also stressed the importance of travelling to seek knowledge from the scholars upon sunnah as much as one could, and it is from the way of our scholars. • Explanation of the First principle [Al Eemaan] which entails four entities and the refutation of those groups that oppose these principle and it's enfities from the deviant sects. The four entities of Al Eemaan. That it is: 1. The statement of the tongue: like the shahaadah [testimony of faith]. For the one that has the ability to speak. 2. The belief in the heart [that is to have certainty about that which you say and profess]. 3. Actions of the limbs: Like praying, fasting and seeking knowledge etc. 4. And that It increases with obedience of Allaah and decrease with the disobedience of Allaah.

Ustaadh Abu Humayd uses Zaadul Ma’aad by ibn Qayyim with the explanation of Shaykh Fawzaan Points of benefit - Why did Allah choose Muhammad (may Allah raise his rank and grant him peace), as messenger? - There is no way to get success, or to know the good from evil, or know the truth, except through the Messenger - Shaykh Fawzaan explained the summarised version of this book in 4 years - It was Summarised by Shaykhul Islaam Muhammad ibn Abdulwahhaab - The events that occurred during the life of the Messenger are tied to the Aqeedah of the Muslims - The Salaf only accept the authentic of the Seerah - There are ahaadeeth found in the book of Sunnah, the musnad books and the Shamaai’l. The most well known is Shamaa’il Muhammadiyyah by Tirmidhi (this was summarised and checked by Shaykh al-albaani). - One of the earliest books on Seerah is the one by Ibn Ishaaq. This lesson was the third in a series of 4 lessons taking place regarding the foundational hadeeth "whoever Allah wants good for, he will give him understanding in the religion" The virtues of traveling for knowledge, such as the example of Moosaa traveling to Khidr. A person should: - Humble himself for knowledge - Seek knowledge for the sake of Allah - Be sincere in seeking knowledge If you humble yourself for knowledge – it brings about honour. This shows humility and good manners. One should not humble and humiliate himself for the worldly affairs. Other benefits: - The Salaf travelled to seek knowledge - Muaadh ibn Jabal and Aboo Moosaa al-Ash’ari were both sent by the Prophet to Yemen, and both were originally from Yemen. - Some of the companions would travel for a whole month for a single hadith - Knowledge is the inheritance of the prophets - Even the animals benefit from the scholars - The people are different levels as it relates to knowledge. Advice from Shaykh Rabee: - You should have good questions, ask them in a good manner without being excessive or devoid of benefit. - Your intention in asking questions should be to benefit - You should be attentive and listen well. - Memorise and do not just listen and forget. - You should record knowledge and memorise - Then you should teach the people and call to Allah - You should have sincerity to Allah. You should not study knowledge with an expectation to become a teacher in a masjid or become a “YouTube Star”. And there is no daleel except that which the messenger came with.” Daleel (evidence) is “Allah said” or the “Messenger said” Imam Ahmed said: “The one who does not distinguish between the Saheeh hadeeth and the weak can not be an Aalim (a scholar)”.
