I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with the remarkable Monica Yates, a trauma healer, feminine masculine embodiment coach and period whisper. We dove into an enlightening conversation about femininity, masculinity, and how modern movements have unintentionally devalued the inherent aspects of our biological identity. Monica shed light on her personal journey of growing up in a society where femininity was seen as a weakness, leading her to suppress her inherent feminine energy.
Through our discussions, we explored the complex dynamics of feminine and masculine energies and how they influence our relationships, self-perception, and overall wellbeing. We delved into the importance of women's communities, the ramifications of toxic femininity, and how the fight for women's rights has changed our perception of domestic roles and tasks. Monica shed light on the importance of understanding the differences between men and women and how this understanding is crucial for nurturing healthier relationships.

Important to note:
Oregano has a long history of use as a traditional herbal medicine in humans, however, it still needs to be used with caution and it may not be appropriate in all cases. Potential adverse effects include toxicity, skin irritation, medication interference, and more. It’s also important to note that there is lack of evidence for its use during pregnancy / breastfeeding.
There is not sufficient research around its safety and tolerability during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your medical provider before use.
Many of the antimicrobial and antibacterial effects of oregano oil depend on its species, mode of extraction, concentration given, etc.
Because oregano oil can have very strong antimicrobial activity, taking it for too long a period could negatively impact the microbiome; as such, long-term use is discouraged.

Today's episode is such an incredible and inspiring story. I interview my friend Danika Koopmans, MSN-FNP, about her journey with Multiple Sclerosis and how she got off her meds. It’s such a good reminder of how resilient our bodies are and how much diet and lifestyle changes can affect the way our bodies operate.
I also want to take this time to remind you that neither of us are doctors and your experience is individual. We are bio individual with different experiences. This information is not meant to treat anyone and you should always talk to your doctor about anything regarding your own health.

Today's subject is something that I consider to be the most important topic when it comes to food and our health: Organic vs Conventional food. There is a lot of confusion around the subject so I brought on my friend Max Goldberg for a candid conversation to clear things up and make it more digestible.
Max has been called “an organic sensation” by The New York Times and named as “one of the nation’s leading organic food experts” by Shape Magazine. Max is the Founder & Editor of Organic Insider, a newsletter read by many of the most influential CEOs in the industry today. He also runs the Organic Food Industry group on LinkedIn, which counts more than 25,000 members from around the world. Max received his BA from Brown University and his MBA from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.

Welcome to Episode 1 of The Realfoodolody Podcast! I thought I’d start out this podcast giving you my background into how I got into health and ultimately pursued it as a career. It started with childhood and an undergrad in communications. I then took a detour through band tour managing with bands like 3OH!3, Third Eye Blind and Tove Lo which finally lead me to where I am today. I'll be using my Masters of Science in Nutrition & Integrative Health to break it down with you, make it more digestible and easier to navigate. Let’s get back to real food!
